Three

The first day of the tour went well, They visited the lab where the companies researched for new medicines and cures. They tried making some themselves with some arranged ingredients, but it didn't work very well. After that, they had lunch at the cafeteria and went to the main lab. The main lab is where everything is made for the first time and tested for the first time. After they saw some documentaries of some medicine and viruses, it was time for dinner. Today's menu was spaghetti with meatballs. They finished their meals and went to their quarters.

"What a day," said Finn as they sat down on the couch.

"Yeah. Did you notice that the researchers looked a little nervous?" said Leo.

"They stammered a lot, and they can't stop shaking their hands. It was like they are ADHDed."

"Yeah. You should know about being nervous or ADHD." laughed Alex.

"What? No. I'm not like that. Am I?"

"Yes you are," said Finn.

"No way. And it's not like that. You must have felt that too." said Leo.

"Yeah, I got that feeling too."

Finn got up and went to his room to get some candies.

"I don't know. Maybe you guys were a bit tired," said Alex.

"Maybe. I was half asleep through the documentary." Finn said as he sat on the stool beside the couch.

"Finn, you were snoring like hell," said Leo

"I was tired," Finn complained.

Alex got up and went to his room.

"Aren't you gonna have some candy?" Leo asked.

"Nah. I think I'll pass. I'm about to pass out."

"Yeah me too. Leo, don't eat too much of my candy. That's all I have left."

Finn put the candies on top of the coffee table and went to his room. A few minutes later, Leo fell asleep on the couch.

The next morning, they went to where they did DNA experiments. There were DNA-modified animals all around the place.

"Here, we do research about animal DNAs and modify them into newer, better beings. We collect DNAs from dead animals to clone them and make better DNAs. We study animal viruses and how to make medicines to cure them." said Tiffany.

"But isn't the study of animal DNA illegal?" said a boy from the back of the group.

"Yes. The study of live animals is illegal. But as I said, we collect DNA from dead animals. So that's not illegal. Basically." Tiffany answered.

Just then, a sound came from the speaker.

"Project Final is about to initiate. We expect all employees to follow the protocol. I hope you have a good day."

It wasn't a woman's voice from the broadcast a few days ago. Its voice was something mechanical and odd voice. Just as the broadcast ended, every researcher in the lab pulled a gun from their lab coats or from their desks.

"What is happening?" Alex asked.

"I'm really sorry that you kids have to suffer this terrible event. I hope you all survive. Even though the chances are very thin."

She pulled a gun from the inside of her jacket and pointed it directly at her head.

A beeping sound came from the speaker.

"I'm really, really sorry."

And just like that, gunshots were sounded from every direction.

The students in front of Tiffany screamed. The animals in the lab stared at them like they were food to them.

"Why are they looking at us like that?" whispered Leo.

"I don't know."

A cow-like creature came forward. It looked at the boy in front of Tiffany's body and stood on its hind legs.

"What the fuck is that?" the boy yelled.

The cow lowered its body to look the boy in the eyes.

"Joseph! Just get away from the thing!" a boy behind Joseph yelled.

Joseph turned back, crying, and said,

"Help."

And that was his last words. The cow raised its front legs and pounded on Joseph. He fell down as his brain fell out of his head.

Everybody started to scream with terror and ran for the exit, but it was locked.

"Shit," Leo yelled and began to fidget with some gears sticking out of the side of the door.

"Fuck. We are all doomed!" A boy with a tattoo on his collarbone said.

"Can't you do that more faster?" A girl in a white skirt yelled.

"Get out of my way!" a boy, about six and a half feet tall, ran at the door with a fire axe.

The door was destroyed by a loud crashing noise that caught every animal's attention in the DNA lab. Just like the cow that was devouring Tiffany's and Joseph's bodies, they stood on their hind legs and walked towards in their direction. As they walked, they formed a humanoid shape.

"What is that thing?" yelled Finn as they ran down the hallway.

"I don't know. Just run!" Alex panted.

A scream came from behind as the creatures from the DNA lab began to engage on the back of the group.

They ran about ten minutes deep into the Lab. As they turned a corner in the hallway that led to where they took a tour on the first day, they found a small doorway that said, 'cleaning equipment'. They ran into the room and Alex ran in last as the creatures appeared around the corner.

The room was not that big. It was about ten meters both width and length. There were only twenty-one people left in the room.

"What are we going to do?" a girl in a white skirt sobbed.

"Is someone going to rescue us?"

"I don't know. Neither of us do. So just shut up Abbey. Before those horrible creatures find where we are hiding." snared a boy with a snake tattoo on his forearm.

"What are you saying, Noah? It's your friend who interrupted them!" yelled Abbey.

"Your blaming Joseph? He's dead. If you care. He died in front of me. If you have any respect for the dead, hold your tongue." snared Noah.

"Whoa. Calm down you two. We don't care how had woke up them. We just don't want to die. We all agree on that. Right?" spoke the boy who broke the door.

"Yeah. Dustin's right. We just want to live." someone from the corner said.

"Be quiet. I can hear them over the door," whispered Leo.

"It's too dangerous to go out. That's clear for sure." Dustin said.

"Let's just rest here for a few hours and we'll think about something then."
