Chapter 28

Luna wakes up to find Toya glaring at her while she was fast asleep, "Morning."

Toya kisses her on the lips, "How do you feel?"

Luna smiles, "Better, I can tell I slept. You?"

"Barely slept worried about you. We should get ready. This place is busy all day. Come find me if you feel under the weather. Well, more than usual."

Luna smiles, "I can work today?"

"It makes you happy to help. Yes, but don't over do it." He leans in looking her in the eyes.

Luna shyly looks away.

"Please don't over do it." Toya says kissing the side of her head after getting her hair out of the way.

"I promise." Luna sits up.

Toya cups her cheek and kisses her on the lips. He pulls away reluctantly, "Okay. Keep your phone close."

"I will." She says walking out of the tent to the bathrooms. She wishes for a toiletry bag and takes a long bath before coming out and getting ready for the day.

"Hey, feeling well enough to supply the vaccine?" Mira asks serving cereal for breakfast.

"Yes. Who's cooking? It smells nice." Luna asks.

"Dodge and Aira. Rex wished for food supplies while you take it easy."

"Okay. I'll take Split and Chronos. I trust them as medical back up." Luna says

Luna and the teens send food around in large trays after giving some of the sick the vaccine.

Dodge and Mira wearing aprons are standing behind the big pot filled with hot food that Dodge and Aira cooked.

A girl looks at her new bowl and smiles, but than she's confused looking at the food in her plate, she has never seen food like that before.

She notices she is the same age as Luna serving the food.

Everyone was already made aware that Murasaki would be sending trainees to help around no one expected it to be children.

Mira explains to everyone how to use the spoon, "Be careful food is hot, so blow on it to cool it down."

"Who does she think she is to tell us how to use a spoon."

"They look down on us, riding on their parents coat tails."

"Yeah, so what if they can cook." A group of women in a circle talk amongst themselves.

"It's not they can't cook. They just have more ingredients."

"This bowl is small."

"Look at her, do you think her hair is real? I've never seen hair that white." 2 teens in the middle whisper between themselves.

"Their skin is so funny looking. She's so pale, there's no black lines on them at all."

"My friend from Murasaki said her black lines vanished once she started using products with healing in them. Black lines are really bad, she says they found out women with black lines can't have children." A woman buds into the conversation.

"Will we get those products?"

"I hope so. Maybe my hair will stop falling off."

"It does. Just look at their long bright hair.

The girl in front digs a full spoon. She can see the hot steam from the fresh and hot food. She eats after cooling it with her breath and her eyes widen.

"What is this?" A woman asks sitting in front. It was their groups turn to cook today but they were given a break.

"Rice and Curry." Dodge responds.

They serve the first floor and the pot runs out of food.

"I did not see that coming. It slipped my mind our camp is nothing in number compared to this one." Luna comments looking exhausted.

"Aira and I will get started on the dishes. Rex you should handle the food from now on. Luna is still under the weather." Sharon says.

Rex nods and the second floor group is served a different meal. This group is all men. Some are on security others are on scavenging outside duties.

Toya approves when they are given large platters to eat until their hearts contant. That's what they do with the people who work the riskiest jobs in Murasaki camp.

Once everyone has had something to eat Rin turns on a blue mist purifier now working with the dishes team.

The fourth and final floor is the nursing mothers room.

Toya passes around bottles of formula. Diapers and baby teething toys. They found out about these after Chronos rewound the mall and were introduced to more convenient products.

Mothers are given food and each one a gallon of water bottles.

From there the team goes to the underground and these people are fed curry and rice. Once food is served Luna eats a little and sleeps.

Aira and Sharon wash the dishes.

Split replaces all the lights with healing essence imbued lights.

Dodge and Mira decided to stay with the nursing mothers. The twins are with Kyle.

Chronos rests after his job is done and they relax watching the entire camp fall asleep one by one.

Once everyone is asleep the group that's awake starts wishing for the vaccine so when everyone wakes up they have packed it in the medical cabinet.

"We'll need you later. Get some rest Split." Mira rests her hand on his shoulder blade.

Split nods and goes to sleep.

Rex and Toya start preparing buckets for all the black gunk everyone is going to throw up.

People start waking up feeling sick and the teens are working with a Split clone to nurse them back to health.

"Your body is expelling the toxin. It lasts a day for less severe cases." Luna tells the worried women.

Mira is handling the babies bleeding toxins.

The mothers are throwing up violently.

Dodge smiles, "It's actually a good thing don't worry about it."

Kyle comes back and some of the sick are walking around and others are in the infirmary, "What's going on here?"

"Healing everyone. We already prepared food for you guys. Hurry up and eat." Toya says.

Jet and Jake run for the meal, so Kyle ignores what he is seeing and grabs something to eat. Leaving with the twins and his team again.

After 2 days everyone feels better and the infirmary has zero patients.

Kyle returns and smiles seeing that his job is being done well, "Colin is super lucky to have powers like yours here. Thanks for coming by, I was worried, but with you here I can concentrate on moving."

Toya smiles, "Focus on that. We've got everything covered." He reassures Kyle with confidence activating the Mist purifiers.

Chronos is helping with the elderly by reversing minor injuries and illnesses.

June is giving everyone fresh water to drink.

Split is working the jobs no one wants to do like clean the toilets and dishes.

Dodge is the head chef working on the next meal.

Mira is helping with the babies.

Luna is fast asleep with Sharon watching her, she's now become completely sick.

Rex is helping with the supplies.

Aira is working on the nano wall.

Rin is on lookout helping to keep an eye out, she points at the sky and confirms with her phone Comms, "3 flying infected above, your shield won't hold if they figure out that you're wall is weak."

Aira sighs, "It will take me days to finish building this. I don't have Thomas's power to build one in an instant."

Rin nods, "We'll have Jet and Jake on lookout duty. If they come back."

Sharon watches Luna sleep until Toya comes to switch out with him.

Toya sighs and pecks her on the cheek, "It's so difficult seeing you like this. You're always taking care of everyone else. I hate this, because I don't know how to make you feel better Luna."

Luna hums in her sleep responding to the mention of her name.

A woman by the name of Angel stands at the door and smiles, "I know what you mean. It's hard when the one who takes care of everyone else is sick. You try to do what they do and you just fumble everything. She's a healer and one of the important suppliers in your camp. It's quite incredible to be so young yet so vital to your camp."

Toya nods, "It helped us get our sense of identity and understand better the toll it has on the adults. We got to think like they would think. Be in their shoes and grow up. Being a leader is scary but losing one is like losing an arm and a leg."

"Oh? In your camp you're leaders"

"We were temporarily. It was a training exercise, but once we got new members they took over again."

"That's so inspiring. Your parents really know how vital the next generation is. No wonder they are so strong. Well, I should go before I wake her up. I hope she gets well soon."

Toya nods.

Outside Chronos stands on the roof next to Mira and gives her a flower, "It's called a Dandelion. I was hoping it looked like a lion, but nope."

Mira laughs holding the flower close to her chest, "It's the only lion I have ever seen."

Chronos laughs, "I'm sure there are other animals out there. Maybe one day we'll be free enough to go look for them."

Mira smiles, "I want to go out there one day. Outside the cage we're in. Visit other countries out there. I wonder why they don't come here to help us."

"Why should they? They are too scared to step foot here. I wouldn't either." Chronos responds

"Don't say that. You would. I know you would." Mira smiles at him.

"Than what's their excuse?" Chronos kicks the air.

"That doesn't matter, because things are better for us. We're doing better without them. No one credit this to anyone else. We did this." Mira points around.

Chronos sits down, "Do you ever wonder if maybe the outside world hated us before this?"

Mira shakes her head, "I think they were jealous. What if the curse was man made? I hear only people like us with time related powers ever wonder."

Chronos takes them to the time vault and shows her the sky before the curse, "Don't do that to yourself. Focus on right now."

Mira smiles, "You're right, now is beautiful."

"Good, we should protect it." He says looking at Mira staring at the night sky with an aurora.

He looks up and accidentally doses off. When he wakes up its only been a few seconds outside the vault. He turns over watching Mira sleep.

When she wakes they help around the camp sharing food and water.

"I'm off to sleep. Call me if you need me." Split says yawning.

Luna wakes up and realises food is ready and goes back to sleep. Supper is on her.

Luna wishes for pots full of food. One has chicken. Another has beef. The others it's gravy and some have pasta.

Everyone comes outside and stand in line. It's first come first serve. When rice runs out they serve pasta. When beef runs out they serve chicken. When pasta runs out they serve dumplings. When chicken runs out they serve lamb. When gravy runs out they serve potatoes. When dumplings run out they serve samp. When stew runs out they serve ribs. When potato runs out they serve mixed vegetables. When samp runs out they serve Yellow rice.

"Wow, this is so good. We should eat like this every day."

"Mommy. Look." A little boy holds up his Ice cream stick of chocolate coating and vanilla inside.

The boy takes a bite and giggles.

When everyone is done eating they pass them around courtesy of Chronos using the wish power.

"Wow, your power is really convenient." Chronos says.

"Exactly. Thanks for the cold snack. Definitely needed it." Toya says shirtless.

"It's cappuccino for the elderly. Mind serving them. All these are sweeteners." Mira asks Sarah who's already experienced with serving hot drinks to the elderly.

"Sure, please get everyone away from the hot water." She replies to Mira.

"Of course."

"Guys, it's bath time. We're going to need portals." Rin says checking the time.

"The twins aren't back, we're gonna have to see who else is compatible with portal ability." Rex says.

"Sarah. Moving through walls is similar. June and Sharon can you take over her job. We need her to help with portalling the women to the showered." Rin says.

Toya passes on the ability and smiles when Sarah is a natural, "Awesome."

Sarah clears out the women's bathroom, "Sorry, but we will be taking showers in order. The elderly take the most time, so they go first by the time their done. Water will be hot again."

Everyone that's slow she portals out and helps the elderly. Dodge helps bathe the elderly using Luna's healing products.

When they are done the water is pitch black.

A woman walk in stubbornly to bath and her eyes widen seeing the black water.

Rin helps clean the bathroom and disinfect the surfaces so they hurry before the power wears off.

Next it's the children.

Luna wakes up and helps dry their hair and adds hair growth oil on their heads.

After this group they dump liquid purifier down the drains because too much hair fell out.

After that it's the teens and than 2 groups of women 10 per group.

They clean up the bathroom wall to wall ceiling to floor. After that the women can enter until the last group.

They pour liquid purifier down the drain leave an air purifier in the room. Most of the women had black smoke come out of their skin.

The girls take a bath themselves and go outside to find the boys have yet to take a bath tired near the tents.

Aira is deflated under the shade.

"What happened?" Mira asks.

"This camp has more men than women. Even with Split we still did a lot. He's getting started on helping the women cook. I have never seen black water like that." June says still catching his breathe.

"Dumping liquid purifier down the drown gets the job done faster. Wear masks though." Dodge tells the boys since it was her idea to do that.

Chronos nods, "Noted."

"Food is ready." Split says with a table set outside.

The men on guard eat outside at the table while everyone eats in the huge dining hall, basically the centre of the mall.

Children and the elderly have already been served.

Nursing mothers are eating their own food. Healthy for mother and baby.

Once everyone has eaten Luna stubbornly insists on helping with the dishes but Rex and Toya disagree.
