Then, she heard her brother's voice calling her.

"Jiang Yan!" he exclaimed.

She was stunned, frightened, and overwhelmed by negative emotions that brewed inside of her. She didn't know what to do next. Should she explain herself or not?

Suddenly, there were three consecutive heavy knocks at the door, accompanied by Su Mei's anxious voice calling out her name. Jiang Chen's attention was finally diverted, and he hurriedly ran towards his wardrobe while covering his lower body.

When Jiang Yan heard the heavy knocking, she felt relieved, as the sound seemed to distract her brother's attention from her awkward situation. The tension in the air dissipated.

After two minutes of changing, Jiang Chen quickly ran outside of his room and looked at the anxious face of the strange girl who had been knocking at his door.

"Who are you?" he asked, furrowing his brow as he tried to recall if he had met her before.

"I'll tell you later. Quick, follow me!" she exclaimed urgently. "Ms. Xia suddenly became unconscious after a black fog appeared in the room where we were staying. Her body started trembling, her skin turned red, and her body temperature began rising at an alarming rate."

Before Su Mei could finish her sentence, Jiang Chen interrupted her with a shout. Without hesitation, he began running frantically towards the room where Xia Yue was staying.

"Where is she now?" he shouted.

"In Jiang Yan's room!" Su Mei called out in response.

When Jiang Chen arrived at his sister's room, he saw Xia Yue's petite body twitching in agony and her face contorting in pain. Her once cute fingernails had become long and sharp, fiercely piercing her slender legs. She tried to fight the pain and remain silent, but as a girl, she couldn't help screaming in agony, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

Jiang Chen quickly ran towards her, holding her hands and trying to comfort her and reduce her suffering with a tight hug, but it was all in vain.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Su Mei finally managed to catch up, gasping for breath. She asked Jiang Chen, who was tightly hugging Xia Yue, "What happened to her?" but received no answer, only another agonizing scream.

"Not good!" Jiang Chen heard the final scream and knew that Xia Yue was close to her limit and might become a zombie at any moment.

His thoughts ran wildly, trying to find a possible solution to the current situation, but according to the memories in his dreams, during the first occurrence of the Apocalyptic Disaster, there was no cure available for the invasion of the black miasma.

Jiang Chen's face was sweating profusely, and his mind was becoming more agitated and panicked. He couldn't give up on Xia Yue, especially when a lovely young woman would become an ugly, flesh-eating zombie. He couldn't bear it. Although he knew that Xia Yue liked him, and he also liked her, he had distanced himself from her because he was already in a relationship before and was afraid of hurting her pure feelings. But fate sometimes likes to play hide and seek, and who would have thought that she would find him here in Q city, especially after getting news of his breakup with his girlfriend Zhu JiaHui. Although he was a passionate person, he would not dedicate his life to anyone except those who were dearest to him, and Xia Yue was one of them.

"I need to think of other solutions," he said.

"ARRGGGGGGHHHHH!" Hoarse and strange sounds were coming from Xia Yue's mouth, indicating that she was on the verge of becoming a zombie.

"What should I do?" he held his head with his hands in frustration and heard a sudden voice coming from afar.

"Brother! I saw a monster in your room, and in its head, I saw a shiny thing," Jiang Yan interrupted his thoughts and said curiously.

"Yes! That's it! You're really my lucky star, Xiao Yan!" Jiang Chen snapped out of his daze and quickly ran towards Jiang Yan, picking her up and kissing her on the cheek.

"ARRGGGGHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOAAAA!"

Jiang Yan was frightened by her brother's sudden actions and her face turned red again. But before she could enjoy the kiss, she heard a loud, hoarse roar and saw Xia Yue's eyes turning white while her skin slowly rotted.

"Br-b-brother, sister Yue... she looks li-like that monster," Jiang Yan said, petrified.

"But there was no guarantee that it was going to succeed. I can only gamble. I hope this will work!" Jiang Chen said.

"Watch her closely, and I'll be back fast!" Without even managing to answer her sister's question, he quickly ran to his room to get the crystal that was still in the head of the Corrupted Tyrant Soul Eater.

After twenty seconds, Jiang Chen came back with his hands dyed with greenish blood and holding a shiny crystal in his right arm.

"Jiang Chen, YOU!"

"BROTHER! What are you doing?" Two consecutive voices barged in as he ran straight to where Xia Yue was lying.

"Quickly hold her!"

"But... that was disgusting! Barf! Baaaaaaaarf!" Su Mei saw his both hands were dyed with green blood and smelled a stinky flavor. She couldn't help but throw up in the corner.

"Brother, isn't that the..."

"Yes! Quickly hold her hands tight, or else we will not see your sister Yue in the future!"

"OK," she nodded and positioned herself on the left side of Xia Yue.

"I will put it in her mouth, and we quickly hold her both hands, OK?!"

"One... two... three!"
