After walking out of the room, Jiang Chen finally heaved a sigh of relief. He had managed to convince his sister that he would be fine, but he himself was not sure what was waiting for him inside the room. Despite the dramatic changes his body had undergone, he was still not fully capable of wielding its full strength. If he were asked to compare his old body to the one he had now, he could feel that his strength had increased by a fourth, but according to the knowledge he had gained from those strange dreams, this strength was barely capable of fighting monsters like the Corrupted Tyrant Soul Eater. He could only shake his head and pull those thoughts back into his brain, brace himself, and walk towards his bedroom.
He slowly opened the door and peered inside. He saw the wormhole appear again, but this time it was much smaller compared to the last one. One thing was strange and made him feel confused. There was a strong wind coming from the wormhole and it sucked up the monster's body lying in the corner of the room. Then a loud scream came from the hole, and after that, the opening of the space crack suddenly expanded, and another monster came out.
The moment the monster came out, it didn't take long before it noticed Jiang Chen, and it immediately attacked him. This time, Jiang Chen was already prepared and put himself in a fighting stance, ready to defend at any time.
"Groooar!" the monster roared.
The monster opened its rotting mouth and intended to bite Jiang Chen's neck, ending his life in one go with its sharp teeth covered in greenish saliva. Some of the saliva was sprinkled onto the floor, and the moment it touched the concrete, it started to smoke and managed to drill a hole in it.
When Jiang Chen lowered his head and looked at the floor, he saw the scene and was taken aback by the corrosiveness of the saliva. "THIS!" he exclaimed.
Whisssh! A howling wind sounded in his ears when he lifted his head. A huge foot was already coming at him. When he managed to see the situation, it was already too late to escape, and he could only subconsciously raise both hands to defend his head. But the powerful force sent him flying towards the wall.
BOOM! The metal wall where Jiang Chen was struck flying was now imprinted with his body shape. Luckily, in the last seconds, he had managed to defend his head; otherwise, it would have already been separated from his body. But his body still suffered from the shock and internal wounds. His internal organs were slightly moved to their original position, causing him to have blood in his mouth.
He struggled to free himself from the wall and wiped the flowing blood from his mouth. He could not help but curse, "This was ridiculous power!"
ROOOAR! The monster moved again, and this time, its target was not Jiang Chen's head but rather his body.
"Fuck!" Jiang Chen cursed.
Another loud clash echoed throughout the entire underground base, causing the lights to twinkle.
In the other room, Jiang Yan's relief was quickly turning into worry as she heard the two consecutive loud bangs on the wall. "Brother!" she called out.
"What's happening?" Su Mei barely managed to hold onto the bedside table, or else she would have been thrown out onto the floor by the powerful shock wave coming from Jiang Chen's room.
"Brother is fighting," Jiang Yan replied without bothering to look at Su Mei. Her eyes were fixed on the closed door.
After struggling for a few seconds, Su Mei decided to take a look outside. However, Jiang Chen's words kept echoing in her mind, causing her to hesitate. The sounds of the fight grew louder and more intense, compelling her to see what was happening. But Jiang Yan pulled her back and repeated his brother's words.
"No matter what happens and what kind of sounds you hear, don't go out. Let me handle this."
Those words echoed in her mind three times, jolting her out of her impulsiveness.

Jiang Yan recalled the earlier situation and her body trembled once again as she thought, "If I go out right now, I wouldn't be helping my brother, but rather harming him." She clenched her small hands with an unwilling look, wishing she was stronger so she could assist her brother in the situation they were facing.
Suddenly, she had a thought and muttered to herself, "Where did those terrible monsters come from?" She quickly walked over to the table, grabbed her phone and tried to access the internet, but to no avail.
"What happened?" she asked, startled. She tried restarting her phone, but there was clearly no signal or Wi-Fi. According to her brother, this facility always had access to the internet, no matter what was happening outside in the world. But what was happening right now? They didn't have any signal or internet.
A terrible thought came to her mind, and she turned to face Su Mei, anxiety etched on her face.
"Sister Mei, quickly look at your phone," Jiang Yan urged.
"Why all of a sudden?" Su Mei asked.
"This is important," Jiang Yan insisted.
"You've been acting mysterious lately, and what's happening with Ms. Xia? I've never heard of a situation like this before. Can you explain everything right now?" Su Mei was truly baffled by all the recent events. First, there was Jiang Chen's sudden change in resilience. Then, after the power shortage, he returned to his normal self, but Xia Yue fell ill and almost died. The most worrying part was that her skin and face were slowly rotting. If it weren't for Jiang Chen's quick response, Xia Yue's condition would have become even more serious and unpredictable. Finally, there were the loud noises coming from outside after Jiang Chen had gone out. All of these strange events seemed to be connected to one person.
Jiang Chen!
She felt as though she was being dragged into a bottomless pit, and the pitiful part was that she was happy to jump out and join the crew.
She could only shake her head and reach for her phone, handing it over to Jiang Yan. "Here, go and use it yourself," she casually offered. However, when she looked at the screen of her phone, she saw twenty-one missed calls and quickly retracted her hand.
"Mom!" she saw the caller name and was shocked. She had forgotten that she hadn't told her parents where she was going, and looking at the time of the calls, it had been four hours since the last time they tried to contact her.
Click, click. She tried calling them back, but there was still no signal on her phone. Before entering this room, she had managed to find a phone that had a signal, which was why she had been quite relaxed about her parents being able to reach her. She had thought that if they wanted to find her, they could simply call her and she would tell them that she was at a friend's house. But now...
"Sister Mei, what's wrong?" Jiang Yan saw Su Mei's frown and asked.
"I can't contact my parents," Su Mei replied, worry etched on her face.
"T-t-h-then it means!" Jiang Yan trembled in fear when she heard Su Mei's words.
Su Mei saw Jiang Yan's body trembling and her face contorted in fear, so she fiercely grabbed her shoulder and asked, "What's wrong Jiang Yan?! Tell me what's going on right now!?"
"Jiang Yan!" She shouted several times, but the response she got was a loud bang, causing them to collapse on the floor.
BAAAAAAAAANG!
"Ouch!" Jiang Yan was awakened by the sudden pain and saw Su Mei sitting dumbfounded, her eyes looking in a certain direction.
"Sister Mei, are you alright?"
"What was that? AHHHHHHHH!" She pointed her trembling finger and screamed in fear.
When Jiang Yan followed the direction of her finger, she was thunderstruck and nearly fainted.
