After taking a bath, Jiang Chen examined his body and was satisfied with his new look. Although he did not care much about his appearance, who in the world wouldn't want to look beautiful or rather look handsome? While he was admiring his new appearance, something strange happened. The dark blood that had saved him from the accident was quietly lying inside his heart, but suddenly it began to move. From its appearance, it was clear that it was trembling, and if anyone could see it, they would surely be frightened because a faint word was flashing and embedded in its DNA sequence.

Something seemed to be awakening within it.

"Sigh, I thought I could finally escape the darkness in this world," he said.

After saying that, he saw that a visible black fog was forming around him. His body started trembling because he knew what this black fog was. It was the dark mist that came from the moon, and it was now corroding the entire basement. He had forgotten that even the farthest basement from the surface of the earth could be affected by this heavenly curse.

He quickly ran out of the bathroom without even putting on any clothes.

Then he saw something that he would never forget for the rest of his life.

His room was filled with dark miasma, and his sister was nowhere to be found.

"Brother?!" she called out anxiously.

He followed the sound of her voice and saw his sister trembling in fear while calling out for him.

"Xiao Yan!"

Then, the empty space beside Jiang Yan began to tremble.

"Brother!" She was clearly unaware of what was happening beside her and she ran towards her brother, who was standing still in the same place.

"Br-b-brother! You!" Jiang Yan hugged her brother and looked at him. A faint blush appeared on her beautiful cheeks, but before she could get a good look at him, her breath became stagnant.

"Xiao Yan! Don't move!"

Crackling sounds could be heard from the empty space, and after thirty seconds of distortion, a small passage began to form.

"Roaaaar!"

A deafening growl of an unusual monster came from the distorted space, and anyone who heard it would surely tremble in fear.

A rotten, big hand slowly emerged from the hole and began reaching towards them. The head followed, tightly grabbing onto Jiang Yan's feet.

"Br-b-brother, what was that!?" She pointed her slender finger at the rotten head. The color drained from her face, leaving her as pale as a freshly bought sheet of paper, devoid of blood due to fear.

"Brother, s-something seems to have grabbed my feet."

"Ahhhhhhh"

"Brother! He-help me!"

Jiang Chen finally snapped out of his daze when he heard his sister scream and saw that she was slowly being pulled into the hole.

"Xiao Yan!" he shouted.

He quickly ran to the corner of his bed, grabbing the hidden black army knife inside it, and ran back to the monster that was pulling his sister's feet. He stabbed it again and again, but it was no use - the arm was as strong as steel and still tightly held onto his sister's foot. He became anxious as the monster slowly came out of the hole. His blue eyes suddenly turned red, while the green remained green. It seemed like electricity suddenly flowed from the depths of his body, and he felt that his strength had tripled. For the last time, he stabbed the monster with all his might, barely managing to loosen its grip on his sister's foot.

"Run, Xiao Yan!" he shouted to her, while trying to stab the monster again. This time, his target was not the monster's hands but its head.

The monster became even angrier when its prey suddenly slipped from its grip. It tried to crawl out of the hole quickly, but the space began to distort and tremble again. After ten seconds, the passage started to close, ripping the monster's body apart, but instead of hindering it, the monster seemed to become even faster.

Jiang Yan's face was still pale from the sudden disaster, and she saw her brother turn his face toward the monster, his right arm turning black again.

"No, Brother!" she shouted with all her might, but he didn't seem to hear her.

BOOOM!

Jiang Chen was sent flying and hit the wall heavily, while the monster was thrown back several steps. However, a visible knife was lodged in its head, and green blood flowed out like a fountain.

"Baaaaaaaarf!"

A weak barf came from Jiang Chen's mouth, and he vomited a mouthful of blood. He struggled to stand up, but his body was drained of strength, so he could only lay down on the floor with his face.

"Brother!" Jiang Yan cried out. "Brother, are you okay?" she asked, helping her brother and letting him lay down on her legs. Her eyes were so red that tears finally came out.

"I'm alright, Xiao Yan. Let me rest for a while," he said in a low voice before falling asleep. Hum hum hum.

A strange combination of sounds could be heard inside the room. One was a loud snoring, and the other was pitiful sobbing.
