Falling for the Fallen (Part 2)

(A/N: WARNING there is some disturbing descriptions within this chapter that may upset readers.)

"Your hair is so soft... like your wings but they're completely opposite colours, hmm? Black hair suits you more than white would though..." he ran his fingers through her freshly brushed hair. Smiling gently, down at the girl who stared back at herself in the mirror. Hopelessness would probably be an efficient word to describe her gaze.

Not the kind of hopelessness that meant she was incapable of fixing herself but the other kind that told her things would never return to her past and no one could help her. Her once sparkly eyes were dull and beneath them were bags that held weeks worths of tear stains.

"It's okay, you don't have to worry about anything ever again..." he tried to comfort her but she only moved her gaze to the window of the high level apartment, "Do you like the view?"

"..."

Sighing, he turned her face to his direction but she only gave a hollow look back at him, he gulped at her lifelessness before holding back his desire for her to continue depending on him.

"What do you want, hmm? I'll get you anything you want..." he lulled, crouching down in front as he wrapped her hair around his fingers. However she looked through him as though he were a ghost.

Gritting his teeth, he launched forward and forced his tongue into her mouth hoping for some sort of reaction...

" Hahh... It's no good when you sit like a doll." he sighed, before standing up and leaving their bedroom.

"?! Urgh!" she jumped up and ran for the bathroom before throwing up the sickening feeling that lay in her mouth, "*cough* disgusting..."

The days went by with him trying to get some sort of reaction and her pretending to be dead. It had been weeks and he was yet to see her move or hear her speak and she was determined to let it continue that way until she found a way to escape. She might not be able to go back to heaven without her wings but that didn't mean she was planning on living with a psycho.

"What have I gotten myself into?" she groaned careful not to alert him from behind the bedroom door. Groggily standing up, she wobbled into the bedroom and lay down on the bed closing her eyes.

'It hurts less when I pretend I'm not here'

~~~
He knew she was pretending... but to the extent of this, he smirked watching the CCTV he had installed in the room while she was sleeping.
'Why would she lie to me this much?'
Tapping the screen where her face was he grinned sinisterly before getting up from his chair and leaving the film room. He had two choices; one he could tell her straight he knew she was acting ; or two he continue to act oblivious while she continues to sneak around like a rabbit.
Entering the room, he carried a plate with sandwiches, this way it wouldn't get messy if she decided to kick off. Smirking, he place the food down on her bedside table as he lifted her up to lean against the headboard. Purposely pushing her back where she was wounded down on it so she would at least make an expression when she felt pain.
"!" she winced in agony, trying not to let her voice slip because if it did he wouldn't leave her alone.
"Ohh dear, did if hurt?" he patronised, grinning at her prey like behaviour, she just seemed to intrigue him more and more.
"..."
"No reply? Oh well, open up it's time for you to eat." he grabbed her cheeks and pried open her mouth. She coughed and spluttered as he forced her to eat, "Tasty?"
She continued to ignore him, turning her head to the plate, thinking whether or not he would be affected if she were to smash it on his head. Noticing her suspicious behaviour he couldn't help but be amused at her tactfullness.
"What are you going to do?" he asked. Looking away she bit her lip.
'He knew I was acting, it was obvious from his behavior he's trying to get a rise out of me.'
" Hmm, was it too risky?" he chuckled picking up the plate and handing it to her, "go on."
His dare was tempting and she had enough of playing prey, "Argh! Die you bastard!"
She launched forward and smashed the plate off his face as they both fell onto the floor. Quickly grabbing a sharp shard of the plate she held it against his neck but for some reason his face was still, almost...content?
" Why?" she murmured, "Why won't you apologise!? Beg me to not kill you! Something... Just let me feel better..." her head fell next to his shoulder as tears began streaming from her eyes, "It's not fair *hic*"
Stunned at how quickly she cracked, he froze and struggled to think how to comfort her. He was certain she would stab him, why did she stop.
"*hic * I'm not like you... I don't have it in me to hurt others. I can't..." she wept as she stood up and sat on the bed.
"Why don't you run then?" he asked monotonously.
"I can't...I don't know why but I can't !" she screamed, grabbing her chest as the burning pain rose at the thought of leaving him.
"Ha! What are you talking about? Do you have stockholm syndrome or something?" he joked sitting up on the floor to face her.
"I don't know! But it hurts like hell its the same feeling that dragged me to Earth. I feel like I'll die if I don't follow this instinct. I just want to be happy..." her face dropped with a helpless expression. How would she escape when her own conscious is chaining her down to stay.
" hmm? "he tapped his chin wondering why she was behaving in such a way, " maybe it's fate... "
"... No. "
" How come? "he asked unsure why she was so against it. Even he himself wondered why he had such an infatuation with her from the second he saw her... Perhaps it was fate.
" I know fate wouldn't be so cruel as to put me with a psycho like you who cut my wings off!" she pointed at the glass case in the corner of the room next to her bed that held a pair of white wings strung out in all their glory.
"pfft!" he laughed at the little creature in front of him which was screaming and shouting, "cute."
"Shut up!" she yelled flinging a cushion at his face before sprinting to the door, "I will never believe us meeting was fate if anything it was a curse..."
Shocked at her sudden lashing out he froze and watched her leave the room. Knowing he should probably stop her he got up and ran after her. Chasing her down the hallway he brushed over her arm in an attempt to grab her but she luckily dodged it and slammed one of the doors in his face.
'Please have mercy, please...'
She prayed to God he wouldn't catch up with her and have her return to that room as some sort of doll. Looking around she saw there was a main door painted black and considering it was different from the rest she asummed that it was the front door, her exit and only chance of escaping form this hell.
Running forward, she twisted the handle hoping that he might have left it unlocked if not she'd have to break it open.
"Shit! Angel! Stop where you are now if you don't want me to chain you up or worse prevent you from ever walking again!" he growled from behind her. Not looking back, she smashed through the locked door with her elbow knocking it off it's hinges.
Sprinting down the buildings corridor, she saw an 'emergency exit' sign hanging above a set of doors heading to a stairway. Quickly tapping down the steps, she hoped that he wouldn't catch up. Perhaps she should run into another corridor and wait for him to pass before going behind him so he wouldn't catch her.
Sighing, she continued down the stairs, tears beginning to run down her cheeks in fear. Her heart raced as she cut into another levels corridor.
'Please don't find me, please -'
