As soon as Aylin took Kian's hand, they teleported back into the hall – to a secluded part, to be exact. Fortunately, not many took notice of their arrival, which Aylin was thankful for because she needed to gather herself and be in a good state of mind. This night, just from the start, was going to be a very long one.
After a couple of deep breaths, Aylin felt Kian's hot breath on her ear before his smooth voice rang just above her ear.
"Tune out their faces and voices. Only focus on the person you want to see and hear. Or, you can simply imagine them as–"
"Chickens," Aylin said, cutting him off as she turned to face him.
"Sure," Kian chuckled and glanced at her before turning to stare at the people in front of them. "Anything that makes you calm."
Aylin did as he said, imagining the crowd of both men and women nobles as chickens. For a minute there, Aylin wanted to laugh, but she held it in and bit her lip.
