The answer is no!

In a moment's time, Sam saw his world just crumbling down like dominoes. A minute ago, he was thinking about how this place was his sanctuary, his place of solitude, his mancave… And now this random person barged in out of nowhere and was claiming to be his roommate. He was confused. But more than that, he was distorted.

"How… Why?" He just had so many questions to ask at one go, hence he couldn't even get a single one out.

"Ah, it seems like you weren't aware of anything that's been going on, huh?" She asked, clicking her tongue and giving off a look of pity towards him.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked back.

"Well, your landlord Mr Ken, had posted this ad in the newspaper a week or so ago that he was looking for one other occupant for this room. And since the rent was cheap as fuck, I hopped in on the bandwagon and voila!" Jane waved around the newspaper with the ad.

Sam almost instinctively grabbed the paper out of her hand and started reading the contents of the ad and learned that the woman in front of him wasn't kidding about it and there was indeed an ad posted on the newspaper. An ad, which was posted in the newspaper, which was done after totally bypassing him.

"He did not tell me about this…" Sam muttered as he slowly crumbled the paper in his hand, before he realized that the paper wasn't his and returned it to Jane.

"Oh, you can keep it. It's fine." Jane gave out an awkward smile as she returned the paper to him. "And about the landlord not telling you about all of this… Well, I guess it would be better if you had a conversation with him about it than me." She spoke.

Sam stood there silently for a minute before having that look of gaining an epiphany. "Yes. You are right! You are absolutely right about that! I mean, he did this without my permission. Like, sure he is the landlord and all. But I do believe that basic tenant rule states that the landlord should inform the tenant before making important decisions that involve invading the tenant's personal space. It's true, right?" He looked at Jane as if she was his only ray of hope and asked.

"Maybe? I don't know such things! Also, although I hope that is the case since you seem so desperate about it, I kinda do hope that it isn't as well because if what you're saying is true then I would have nowhere else to go." Jane shrugged as she said that.

"You're right. Look, I would really like to sympathize with your situation right here, but here's the thing. I could care less about it!" Sam shrugged back, giving out a really cold look as he said that.

"Wow, you're an ass, aren't you?" Jane looked really pissed off as she said that.

"Well, not the first time that someone thought of me like that. But it certainly is the first time that someone said that to my face, so I appreciate that." Sam smiled.

"Whatever." Jane scoffed.

"Now, if you will excuse me, I'll be going out for a while since I have to meet up with the landlord." Sam spoke.

"Ok, cool. Do whatever you want to." Jane jumped into one of the couches once she heard him say that.

However, it didn't seem like Sam was impressed with what Jane did. "Excuse me! What are you doing right now?" He asked.

"What?"

"I said, I'm leaving right now." He repeated himself.

"And I said cool!" Jane replied.

This just got Sam really frustrated. "When I said that I'm leaving, I meant that I'm taking the key and locking the door to MY apartment and would like you to leave MY apartment." He spoke.

"Well, you go have your talk with the landlord and settle whatever skirmish you have with him because as long as you don't, this isn't just YOUR apartment, it is mine as well." Jane replied in a rather condescending voice.

Sam sighed. Jane wasn't wrong about that. At this point, she was indeed a tenant as well unless Mr Ken says otherwise. Which meant that he had to leave this random unknown woman in this peaceful sanctuary of his unsupervised and there was nothing that hurt him more than that.

"Ok, fine. Just don't mess up the things around, you get me?" He asked.

"Yea, sure. I'll do that." Jane nodded his head.

Although he didn't want to do it, Sam reluctantly left the apartment in Jane's hand and went to look for his landlord.

"Mr Ken! Open up, Mr Ken!" Sam began banging on his landlord's door as if there was no tomorrow, upon which a really furious looking landlord opened the door.

"What the fuck do you want, man?" Ken asked, swinging around his watering pot with which he was watering his bonsai tree.

"I apologize, Mr Ken. It's just that I wanted to discuss an important issue or I wouldn't have come here during your bonsai watering time." Sam bowed his head as he apologized.

"It better be. Or else, I wouldn't waste a damn second to kick your candy ass!" Mr. Ken spoke all aggressively.

"Yes, Mr Ken. Can I get in now? I don't feel like this is the kind of conversation that we should have outside." Sam replied.

"Get in, man!" A very irritated Mr Ken showed him in. "So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" He asked as he placed the watering pot aside.

Sam nodded his head before he began speaking about his dilemma. "Ah, well. So, here's the thing. I was doing my own thing today, you see. You know how my cleaning day is today, right? And all of a sudden, a random woman comes up to my door and tells me that she's my roommate and I'm like whaaaaa-"

Mr Ken sighed as he took a seat beside Sam. "I see. I was expecting you to swing by with this. Anyway, my answer is no." He didn't even waste a second to give that reply, which really kinda shocked Sam.
