Chapter 15: Mama

Liam's Pov:

I haven't been home. I don't know how long we've been here. Dr. Katlyn Hemsworth, that freaky bitch does not come consistently and each day one of us is taken from this room. The silence was deafening here, none of us spoke for fear of being heard and none of us made a move. We were all silently trying to find a way out of here. The room was dark and if it weren't for the moans of other beings and the sliver of daylight I wouldn't know if we existed.

Dr. Katlyn Hemsworth has yet to reveal who she really is. From what I knew the head of the administration was a man not a woman. A Samuels. So to me what she's saying is off unless she's the head of this department or she used an aelius. I just know and clearly something didn't add up. We missed something.

I jabbed Lyle with my foot. He stirred in his sleep but didn't wake up. I kicked him again and he moved away from me. I rolled my eyes and kicked him in the back really hard with the heel of my boot. He jolted awake with a snort.

"What the fuck?" He whispered.

"What did you realize?"

"Realize what?"

"That day when queen bloody bitch showed up out of nowhere." Lyle took a moment to think.

"Roi and Anna are set to change soon. If they broke the spell on infertility, the hormones would be triggered and they will change."

"Into what?"

"I don't know but queen bloody bitch wants that. Which is why we should have told them. Or let them be in on it." After that we were all silent again.

"Did you get through to Roi yet?" Lyle asked.

"No. I haven't felt her in a few days now. You?"

"I've lost all feeling of Kaylia." Lyle answered in sadness.

"Shh!" Faber shushed from across the room. "They will hear you if you two keep talking so loud." Faber snapped at us.

"How else can we communicate, Faber? We can barely see." Kian pointed out, suddenly joining the conversation.

"Morse." Faber whispered.

"Someone here can easily figure that out." Ned moaned from somewhere to the left. I took a moment to think as silence fell over the room. I lifted my chained arms to scratch my head as an Idea came to mind. I clanked my chain up against the cold wall nine times and stopped for a long period of time, then I clanked my chain three times, stopped, once, stopped, fourteen times, stopped, twenty times, stopped, and so on and so forth.

"What the hell Liam?" Lyle hissed.

"Just think." I told him. I repeated the pattern until, I heard Ned's voice putting the puzzle together.

"I...C...A...N...T...F...E...E...L...H...E...R." He said as I tapped out each letter.

"I can't feel her?" Kian concluded. I grunted in response.

"Number of taps equals a letter of the alphabet." Faber said under his breath.

"Yes but-" Kian was about to bring up something, when we all heard the infamous footsteps from outside of our room, down the hall.

"Breathe slow, close your eyes." I reminded everyone. It was a method of controlling one's heart rate. This Dr. Katlyn can feel everything. If we didn't control our heart rate she would know we were causing trouble. The door opened as everyone rushed to adjust themselves. I saw the smallest bit of light flit across the wall as the door closed quickly behind her.

"We aren't causing a rebellion are we?" Her gravely voice echoed in the silence. She walked around kicking us in the side with her pointy heels. "Answer me!" She yelled. I felt something wet fall onto my face and I made no move to wipe it off. I knew what it was. No sense in trying to keep clean right now.

"Fine...Since you won't say anything to your creator, you leave me no choice. Besides, it's time we moved you to the second phase." I couldn't help but wonder what she was talking about when someone yanked me from the floor with force.

I said nothing and showed no sign of protest either. I didn't even open my eyes. I did however try to feel for Roi again. I wanted to feel that she was okay, I wanted her to feel my love everyday in case these were our last.

Roi's Pov:

I woke up strapped down to a hospital bed, with a killer headache, and this empty feeling in my chest. The person who I immediately recognized was Anna who looked extremely worried about me.

"Can you unstrap me?" I croaked slowly. Anna shook her head at me. "What happened?" I asked her.

"You went berserk again and I-" Anna couldn't finish her sentence. "Everything is different now, Roi." She said instead.

"Is the baby okay?" I asked. Anna nodded her head.

"The baby is fine. But Ned isn't."

"No?"

"Ned hasn't come back to the house. I tried calling him but he hasn't picked up. No one has. The men are all gone."

"What do you mean, Anna?"

"Lyle, Kian, Ned, Liam, and Faber are gone." I don't know why but I felt my anger spike. "Roi calm down. We don't have blood for you to drink."

"Fuck them!" I yelled getting even more upset. There was this constant sense of foreboding in my chest and I can't believe I trusted Liam for a second time. I don't even know how Lyle got tangled up in this shit.

"No Roi. We think that there is something wrong."

"Forget it! I know what's wrong. They are cowards! All of them! They couldn't even tell us what was going on and Ned's been running from you like a murderer ducking the cops. Fuck this shit. Fuck them all. I refuse to feel anything for them from now on. I refuse to feel anything!"

"You can't just do that Roi, you have kids, you still have me, and Ria, and Kaylia, and Yani! You still have us!"

"I'm never going to love someone in that way again. I won't break myself for this shit!" Anna walked up to me as I began to struggle with my restraints. Her eyes met mine and I can feel the bond between us weigh heavily upon my chest.

"We're going to be okay." Anna said. She put her hand on my face which helped me to stop struggling. "We'll be fine. We'll follow you to the ends of the earth, Roi. If the boys ever come back, we'll learn to forgive them too. I think that's the biggest thing in this feeling shit: Learning to forgive. I hate to break it to you but no matter what, we are a family and family forgives." She kissed my cheek and then she unbound me from the bed.

I didn't go home until three days later when my blood lust was sated. If it weren't for the control I had over myself, I could've hurt someone that day. I'm glad I didn't. It's a mystery to me on what caused the lust to come about. But all I knew is that I felt wildy different. My hearing was sensitive to the point where I can hear cows grazing twenty miles off in the farm. If I focused hard enough, I can hear the city roaring to life. It had gotten to the point where I didn't even need to use a baby monitor. I heard every whimper, when my children's stomach growled, heard where they were going, and I heard when Ben would sneak into my room before he even got to the door. I heard heartbeats through people's chests, and I heard their blood rushing through their veins. The only thing that gave them life. I felt a connection to any and everybody and they felt one to me. It was weird going into work and constantly hearing, "I just feel so connected to you." All I know is that after two weeks of pure torture, I couldn't take it anymore.

I was managing the hospital, Liam's multiple jobs, the kids, and my home on autopilot. I was no longer present in anything that I did. It was at this point that I started to try to figure out why Liam just left. There were way too many things he cared about, for him to just up and leave. Liam abandoned everything. They all did. It doesn't make sense and therefore, I had to finally believe everyone else. Something is wrong. These things don't make sense, how can the guys just leave for two months on end and not come back to check on their businesses at least? It didn't add up. But I wasn't ready to look for them. I can barely feel Liam if at all. Even if I cut my emotions off, I would still feel him. I wonder why he cut the link.

Anywho, like any other day I got up from my empty bed. I stared at Liam's side of the bed and shook my head. I'm starting to worry about this man and I said that I wouldn't. I got a shower, got dressed, made breakfast and then got the children ready for the day. As we all sat at the table, the doorbell rang and I huffed out in annoyance. I didn't answer the door and instead focused on feeding my baby. I just wanted the person to go away. After ten more minutes the doorbell rang again. I put down the spoon and got up wiping my hands off on a napkin. The doorbell resounded throughout my home again.

"Mommy, the doorbell!" Ben told me.

"I know baby. I got it." I walked to the door and opened it roughly.

"What do you want?" I snapped.I didn't even look through the peephole to see who it was. There was a man I couldn't identify, standing at the door. He had a ski mask on his face, and big green eyes, that freaked me out. He stared at me intensely before holding out his hand.

"Who are you?"

"Roi Collis?"

"No...Who. Are. You?" I spat. He tilted his head at me before motioning to something behind him. I peered around him to see there was a group of people and a black car. Including this weirdo, there was five men in total. Another man who also had big eyes came up to me with a device in hand. I made it a point to listen to all of the men before me closely. Their hearts were beating very fast and I can smell that one of them was sweating. Now why would they be scared of me?

"We are a part of the administration Ms. Collis. We have someone that wants to talk with you." He spoke. It was low and barely sounded like a voice if anything. I was surprised to see the person in front of me talk.

"Well can it wait. I need to go to work soon."

"No. They are here now. This needs to happen now. It is very important. Please step into the car. This will be quick."

"No thank you. I need to watch the kids. You are on my territory illegally might I add. If you came all this way to speak to me, then whoever needs to speak with me can come inside or else we're going to have a problem." He turned around and nodded at the man who gave him the strange device. The man rolled down the window of the car and spoke to the person inside. They spoke soo low that even with my enhanced hearing I couldn't hear them. The man turned back around to the one in front of me. The window of the car rolled up, and then he nodded at the one on my doorstep.

"They have agreed to speak with you inside your home only if they can bring a guess along."

"What-the fuck-ever. Just hurry the fuck up." I turned inside my house and I closed the door. I picked up the phone to call my mother. I wanted the kids out of here now. After the phone call, I finished feeding the kids. Then I sent them up to their rooms just as the doorbell rang again. I walked over to the door and opened it. I was met by a woman, dressed in an all white suit, with long black hair that went past her butt. She had red lipstick on her lips, and these big eyes that seemed to glow with power. In fact I can feel it coming off of her in waves, however unlike her other guards whose heads were to the floor mine wasn't. She didn't phase me. Not even a bit.

"The infamous Roi Collis. It's nice to meet you. I'm Dr. Katlyn Hemsworth, head of the administration." She said, flipping her long hair over her right shoulder. "May I come in?" I huffed at her and turned from the door walking into my home. She brought in the same freaky green eyed man who was at my door with her. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I stopped to check it.

"Should I go through the front door? What's going on?" ~Mommy.

"No, take the back road and go through the back patio door only. Be quick." I texted her. I then put my phone in my pocket and kept walking until I got to my office. That bitch and her minion followed me the entire time.

"Take a seat." I told her as I sat behind my desk. She lifted her nose slightly as if smelling the air. Then she smiled at me.

"You have a lovely home Roi. Surely all of those jobs at the administration paid off nicely. I was told you have children. Where are they?"

"While you were preparing yourself I had someone take the kids to school. You have made me terribly late to start my day." I hissed.

"Yes I understand. I'm sorry about that. But this is an urgent matter. Did you take a look at those forms we sent to you Roi? I have to say that you and your troop here are very innovative in starting your own medical practices."

"I looked at those forms." I said skipping over the bullshit.

"Good, then you know how important they are for the administration. I believe we can help your cause if we take a look at your research. I mean you are the first… twin that we have working towards the fertility issues behind your cause and we believe that you can have a bigger breakthrough with our help. This is can be an opportunity for all other twins in this operation. Don't you want your people to grow?"

"I do. But I believe we have enough resources here to do it. Besides, it's against my contractual agreement with you. I was promised full control over my research and in return you'd get unfiled experiments filed. There is nothing in the contract that states I have to give you my research to look at. I have full control on what orders I deny and what orders I will receive. As the head of the administration I would have expected you to do that research on your own."

"Yes but your partner didn't sign the exact same contract that you did."

"Well then you will need to talk to him about that. We run two different practices. Not the same."

"Yes but I've recently heard that you have control over his current facility since he is doing work for us."

"I'm sorry?" I tilted my head at her in surprise. She smirked at me leaning over her side of my desk as if it were her own.

"Yes. He is currently doing a small investigation. Someone last night, possibly a rogue trashed the facility. Since he basically has a copy of our equipment, we were hoping that you both will continue our research efforts here while equipment is being replaced at our facilities. He is just trying to find who did it. If he hid away from the administration for so long he is a good candidate to solve this problem of ours. Did he not tell you that he was working more exclusively with us again?"

"Yes. I was unaware. But with that being said, my answer is still the same. I will not approve of the documents unless I hear from him." I stated stubbornly. "Just because I am in charge of things now doesn't mean that I have the authority to give you the permission to see our progress without his knowledge. As you have stated we are partners in this." The woman before me twisted up her face with anger.

"Maybe I can give you some incentive." She spat. I looked closely at her as she sat back in her seat and snapped her fingers. I watched as a red drool came out of her mouth. I lifted up my lip in disgust. She's going to mess with my carpets. What was she? I took a tissue from my desk and held it out to her.

"You're drooling." I told her.

"Thank you." She took the tissue from me and cleaned herself up. I heard multiple grunts coming from the bottom of the steps near the grand staircase in the house. I felt my body ignite with tingles as the noise got louder and louder.

"No! I don't want her to see me! No-" My office door opened and my heart stopped beating rapidly within my chest.

"Now son, calm down. I let you see your beautiful partner. What is there to complain about?" Dr. Katlyn said. This time her blood was just spilling out of her mouth.

"Don't listen to her Roi!" He yelled. I flinched in my spot. I stood up from my seat and took a deep breath, one that Dr. Katlyn smiled at with her now black serrated teeth.

"You think I'm a fool, Roi…" She hissed. "You've been in the palm of my hand the entire time. I made you so predictable, girl."

"You don't know what you're talking about." I couldn't look at the man who held my entire bottle of emotions in his hands. I only looked at her.

"I do Roi… You running away from us was predicted, you gaining emotions was predicted. Do you think that you actually feel what you feel? See, I control all of that. I was testing you, and Anna, and Kaylina, even your original and your so called mother. I knew every move you were going to make. Even my sons. You are meant to be so powerful. You are connected to everyone and everything in ways that can benefit the administration."

"Roi, please?" Liam begged.

"You are changing, everyday. You are all changing, to benefit the administration's cause… You're emotions are ebbing away as we speak, you are turning back to normal as we currently speak, you will start to even crave for blood more." I felt my mouth begin to salivate at the mention of blood. I gulped and shook my head.

"What is your purpose in doing this?"

"It's simple… All we want is peace in the world. We can accomplish that with your help. We make you clones emotionless so that you may be invincible. Impossible to stop. We make you so that you don't feel pain. What the administration wants is power and peace. There is too much destruction don't you think?"

"What are you getting at?!" I grabbed the collar of her shirt making her stand up from the other side of my desk. "Be clear bitch!" I cursed.

"Now that is no way to talk to your mother in law is it?"

"Mother in law?"

"I am responsible for the creation of your partner. I am his mother."

"You will never be my mother."

"I don't care about that little bitch! I made you!" She ripped herself from me to slap Liam across his bloodied face. She took a moment to fix her now blood stained white suit. She turned to me with an empty smile on her face.

"So can we hurry up and get those papers signed?" She asked politely.

"I said no! You can't have the research." I didn't understand her motives at all now.

"If you sign those papers you can have all of the power at your finger tips. You can be the mother of all mothers. You are a perfect replacement."

"I said no!" She narrowed her eyes to me that now turned white.

"Do it!" She snapped at the same guard from earlier. He took out the device from his pocket. He walked over to Liam.

"Don't you touch him!" I yelled moving around from my desk.

"Hold her down!" Two more guards came into the room and grabbed me as I went to snap the other guys neck. I was pinned against the wall. With all of my might I tried to get these guards off of me but I couldn't even make them budge.

"You have gone weak on me, Roi. I expected more from you. But soon I shall fix that. Do it!" Dr. Katlyn spoke. The guard went over to Liam.

"No!" I yelled again trying to get away from the wall. I watched as the device came to life. It had multiple serrated edges and had many blades sticking out of it. I watched the guard with dread in my heart as he pressed a button making the blades rotate in a circle. I was pushing really hard against the wall. I made one of the guards holding me down slide across my floor.

"If you want this to stop all you have to do is sign the documents." Dr. Katlyn proposed.

"No! Don't you dare, Roi!" Liam yelled at me. "We worked too hard!"

"You can't leave me!" I cried.

"Roi, I'm not going anywhere, sweetness. Don't you sign those documents."

"Liam!" I wailed.

"Shh! It's okay. I'll be okay." The guard was now closer to Liam's neck. I was beginning to see red and I heard everyone's heart beat in their chest. It was getting harder and harder to control me.

"That's it…" Dr. Katlyn trailed.

"That will only make it worse…" She sighed. "You'll definitely kill him… What's it going to be Roi?" She smiled widely at me.

"Roi don't! You won't hurt me." But Liam's plea fell on deaf ears.

"I'll sign it!" I said out of desperation. I didn't want to go berserk.

"Good." She nodded towards the guard. I watched as the device sliced through Liam's neck anyways pushing me over the edge. I lost all sight of what was going on around me. The last thing I remember is laughter and glass breaking before my world went dark.
