PWA 71 Jelly Bean Town, Second Coming

I take Zozo to the Healing Facility in the Duel Dome that costs 5 pokedollars more expensive than the Pokémon Center to get a full healing service.

Yeah, this is surely another lucrative business whatever the Boss of this Duel Dome have.

With the healing service at their place that cost 10% more expensive than the nearest Pokémon Center and the place that is always full from trainers who can't wait to heal their Pokémons after an intense battle in the arena, how much money they make just from the usual healing service?

Anyway, my Zozo that is already alive and kicking healthily again will rest for a while as I planned Phinia to take the next round of battle.

Kasumi didn't get any damage from our battle before so she is just resting inside the pokeball after I give her a Berry to eat to replenish her energy.

....

And finally after waiting for some more time, we proceed to the second, third and fourth round of the tournament with ease.

On the second round, me and Kotonoha sent out Phinia and Kasumi to fight against a pair of Bug Catchers, a purple haired girl who sent out a Butterfree and a black haired boy who sent out a Beedrill.

Needless to say, it's an easy win for Phinia with her newly learned Aerial Ace against them, with Kasumi staying on the back supporting her with Leer and Bubble Beam.

On the third round, we are having a fight against a pair of a Brunette Aroma Lady who sent out an Oddish and a Blonde Breeder Girl who sent out a Poliwag.

[Oddish, the Weed Pokémon, is a Dual Type Grass and Poison Pokémon.]

[Oddish is often mistaken for an ordinary clump of weeds. And when you try to yank it out of the ground, it shrieks horribly. Its scientific name is "Oddium wanderus." During the day, it keeps its face buried in the ground, avoiding the sunlight while absorbing the nutrients from the ground using its entire body. The more fertile the soil, the glossier its leaves become.]

[Meanwhile on the night, Oddish is awakened by the moonlight and it started to move. It is said that an Oddish walk nearly one thousand feet at night, wandering around on its two roots as their legs, sowing its seeds while basking on the moonlight.]

[This Oddish have the ability Chlorophyll and it knows the move Synthesis (Egg Move), Ingrain (Egg Move), Absorb, Growth, Acid, Sweet Scent and Mega Drain.]

I have sent out Shion and paired with Kasumi, the duo make a quick work felling the Poliwag with Shion as main attacker using her Bullet Seed and Vine Whip while Shion is using her newly learned move Confusion Ray to confuse the Oddish that have double typing which gives it advantage against Grass, Fairy and Water type Pokémons.

After the Poliwag is down, Shion is using Dig to evade an Acid shot by the Oddish amidst its confusion, while Kasumi is attacking with two shots of Shadow Ball before Shion emerge from the ground behind the Oddish to give it a surprise attack as the Oddish itself hurt itself in its confusion, effectively flooring it down to eat the soil.

On the fourth round, we are met with the pair of twins Karen and Karin from our first tournament.

The twin sisters twitched their mouths when the two of them are seeing us, the couple who have beaten them so badly on the first round of our first tournament.

I greeted them out of courtesy and the gentle and kind Kotonoha followed suit, of course.

"This time...." " ...we won't lose." The twins taking turns saying their words with Karen saying the first part and Karin saying the second part.

I sent out Phinia again and together with Kotonoha and Kasumi, as for the twins....

"Go, Ledyba/Spinarak!"

Oh, Karen let out a Ledyba and Karin let out a Spinarak, such a classic twins pairing.....

This reminds me of the pair of twins on Azalea Gym, who is their names again? Amy and May? Or is it Kumy and Rumy?

When the twins sees the Pokémon I have let out though....

""Eeehhhh....!?"" Both the twins let out a loud cry.

""Why didn't you sent out your Grass/Fairy Pokémon!?"" And then they asked me with Karen saying the Grass part and Karin saying the Fairy part.

Huh? So they are watching our last previous Duel(s) and thought that since my Shion looks to be my most powerful, then they think it is the most likely to get out to be used against them?

And then they prepared both a Bug types and with one part Flying type and another is a part Poison type to deal with my Shion?

Sorry girls, for I have not met your expectations 😅

They should have watched all of our previous duels and not just the latter ones so they can factor in a fact that so far I have never sent a Pokémon to go battling on two consecutive rounds without rotating it with another Pokémon.

Not like I will tell them though.

Well, this works in my favors, too.

I thought that while I scanned the new Pokémons I have just see with my Pokédex.

[Ledyba secretes an aromatic fluid from where its legs join its body. This fluid is used for communicating with others. This Pokémon conveys its feelings to others by altering the fluid's scent. When the weather turns cold, numerous Ledyba will gather from everywhere to cluster and keep each other warm. They are very timid and grow uneasy when not in a swarm with others of their kind. The pattern on their backs differs slightly from one to another. These Pokémon will be active if it is in a group and they will join together to use their moves in order to protect their nest.]

[This Ledyba have the hidden ability Rattled, and it knows the move Bug Bite (Egg Move), Tailwind (Egg Move), Tackle, Supersonic, Swift, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard and Aerial Ace.]

Hmmmm.... This Ledyba has Rattled? Did they intended for it to contend against part Ghost Kasumi?

[Spinarak, the String Spit Pokémon, is a Dual Type Bug and Poison Pokémon.]

[Spinarak sets a trap by spinning a web with thin but strong silk. It then waits motionlessly for prey to arrive. The web spun by Spinarak can be considered its second nervous system. It is said that this Pokémon can determine what kind of prey is touching its web just by the tiny vibrations it feels through the web's strands. Some fishermen weave its sturdy thread into nets to catch fish Pokémon. And although the poison from its fangs is not very strong, it is already potent enough to weaken the prey that gets caught in its web.]

[This Spinarak have the ability Swarm, and it knows the move Lunge (Egg Move), Night Slash (Egg Move), Poison Sting, Absorb, String Shot, Infestation and Scary Face.]

Hmmm.... A Bug type and Dark type Egg moves it have alone are super effective if they are fighting against Grass type Shion and Ghost type Kasumi. They really goes all the way finding a pair of Pokémon that not only compliments well to eaxh other but also super effective against what they thought I would sent out.

""Tch.... If only we know that you will use that bird, we will stick with our Minun/Plusle...."" Said Karen and Karin.

"Kotonoha, be careful of the Spinarak, let Kasumi attack from distance with Bubble Beam or Shadow Ball." I told Kotonoha our strategy as we commanded our Pokémon.

"Phinia, Aerial Ace on the Spinarak!"

"Ledyba, use Reflect!"

"Kasumi, Bubble Beam!"

"Spinarak, Night Slash!"

My Pidgey quickly approached the Spinarak with an inescapable maneuver, but before the Flying type attack hits, a screen of yellow light is covering both of our foe's Pokemons, halving the damage of the super effective move on Spinarak.

Meanwhile, Kasumi shoot Bubble Beam from afar but more than half of the attacks are slashed off by the Spinarak's Night Slash, leaving only a few negligible damage.

"Phinia, use Gust now!" If physical attacks didn't works, then let's just use a special attack against them, though I bet 69 pokedollars that they will counter it with Light Screen.

"Ledyba, use Light screen!"

As expected, now a pinkish purple screen of light that would make a good background for a Disney Princess or Barbie movie are emitted by the Ledyba, covering both it and the Spinarak's side of the arena.

Amy and May (or Kumy and Rumy in Japanese Pokémon games) are twins class trainer encountered in Azalea Gym on Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. They have a Lv 10 Ledyba and a Lv 10 Spinarak. Unlike the other Pokémon games in the next generations, the second generation game didn't have a double battle so players will fight the Twins on one vs one Pokémon battle.

By the way, the Ledyba's Hidden Ability, Rattled, is an ability that raises its Speed by one stage (up to the usual maximum of +6 stages) whenever it is getting hit by a Bug, Ghost or Dark type move.
