PWA 57 Gary's Challenge

As for the one who get challenged by his self proclaimed rival, Jovanna simply shrugged off his own shoulder and shakes his head to the left and the right.

"I refuse." Just with two words, Jovanna make everyone who is already gathered to watch the commotion to stop on their tracks.

Professor Oak, his grandson and even his Aides are all surprised, none of them have expected this kind of development.

Kotonoha is also surprised, she never expected her boyfriend who is always eager to go on Pokémon battle to suddenly refused a challenge from his rival.

In all the books that she have ever read in her leisure time, the protagonist inside the story would always be eager to meet every challenge on their journey.

And although she have only met Jovanna for three days and even sleep with him on two nights, but Kotonoha, being a sensitive girl she is, can feel something like the protagonist vibe from her boyfriend.

Jovanna gently held Kotonoha's hand and pulled her out of her dazed, the couple walked out of the room bypassing Gary who only stood there motionless like someone who is petrified after being kissed by a Jynx.

It took a moment for Gary to recover out of his shock from Jovanna who is always never seem to play by the script.

("For Arceus sake, Jovanna, why did you never play by following the script? Shouldn't you accept the challenge from me, then after that I will beat you miserably to wash out the humiliation that you have given to this great me in front of everyone before?") Gary thought as he turned around and chased Jovanna who is already out from the Pokémon Lab.

The Aides on the Lab, seeing such a drama unfolded, decides to follow after their Professor's grandson footsteps, they don't want to miss another show that will surely happens today.

Meanwhile Professor Oak only stood there silently while looking at the door that is already closing, leaving the old expert in the Pokémon world all alone in his Lab.

He took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh.

He already knows the outcome of what will happens next, after all he have lived for so long and he already have many experience dealing with humans and pokemons alike.

However, although the outcome that he have already calculated will come out to be true, but it will not go in the way that he have predicted before.

Gary Oak called out to Jovanna as he sees him already get out from his grandpa's lab, "Jovanna! Wait a minute! Are you Torchicking out from my challenge?"

Jovanna who is enjoying his leisurely pace while holding hands with Kotonoha stopped walking and turned around to face Gary.

"Torchicking out? Funny. What would make you think so?" Jovanna ask with an amused expression, his cute face looks like a kid who watch a clown doing performance in front of him.

"You still need to ask? Dont play dumb with me! Don't you dare to meet my challenge before!?" Gary Oak purposefully raised his volume so that everyone nearby can hear his loud voice.

"You? Challenged me? Are you worthy?" Jovanna calmly throw a question with a very demeaning tone to Gary, earning the whispers and gossips from everyone who have already gathered around them to watch the show.

"Who is this cute girl? Her face is cute but the tone of her words is really something else." Said Bystander A.

"What? You don't know her? You must have not watched her battling Professor Oak's grandson before?" Asked Bystander B.

"Oh, I have! Man.... It's such an eye opening battle. That girl have just got her starter Pokémon and she already win against someone who picked a Pokémon that have a type advantage against her. Not to mention that someone is actually the grandson of our famous Pokémon Professor!" Said Bystander C.

"Whoah!? Is that true? She is amazing! Did anyone here have her pokegear contact number?" Asked Bystander D.

"Hey, You four, don't be fooled by his appearance. Although he looks like a cute girl, he is actually a boy through and through." Said an Aide from Professor Oak's Lab who happens to be the one among the many Aides who handles the new trainers registration 3 days ago.

Hearing the words from the aide, many people among the crowd felt like someone have poured an entire bucket of cold water right above their heads.

As for the one in the gossip of everyone, Jovanna is still taunting Gary while Kotonoha is holding onto the tip of his sleeves while staying close on his back.

If seen from a certain angle, people who are not in the know must be thinking that Kotonoha is hugging Jovanna from behind as the cute trap is roasting the grandson of the famous Pokémon Professor with nothing else but her mouth!

"Jovanna! I challenge you again on a Pokémon battle!" Gary gritted his teeth as he challenged his so called rival to do a Pokémon Battle with him again.

"Sorry, I am not interested in fighting someone who I have already defeated so easily before. People will think that I am someone who loves to bully the weak, you know?" Jovanna simply refused Gary's challenge again while still reminding him about his loss before.

"Grrr... Jovanna! This time I am sure that I will win! Let's do a Gym Battle Format! Single Battle, Three vs Three! Do you dare or not?" Gary has already lost his patience and have raised his voice even more.

"Oh, a Gym Format Battle with three Pokémons on each team? Interesting.... Okay, I won't take advantage of you. Kotonoha, you fight him on my behalf."

Kotonoha: !???(°ー°〃)

Kotonoha: ("I am just staying here, watching from behind..... Why do I am suddenly dragged out....?")
