Death

Clark Wilson is a young man whose life experienced a sad fate, His father passed away when he was five years old. My mum persisted even then. She went to work every day so that I may have a happy life. There were days when she simply returned home to sleep since she worked day and night.

When I became 16, I went to different supermarkets and restaurants to find a part-time job so I could help mom out a little bit. However, when she learned that I had turned it down, she simply advised me to keep going with my studies so I could find a respectable career.

My final semester of school was approaching, and when I went home from class, I got a call from a coworker notifying me that my mother had passed out at work and had been taken to the hospital. Concerning my mum, I was really concerned. I can't picture my life without her because she is the only one in it who genuinely cares about me.

When I got to the hospital, I went straight to the front desk to ask for my mother. She provided me with my mother's room's number. I entered the room right away. My mother was unconscious when I arrived, so I went to the doctor who was on duty and inquired about my mother's condition. My mother has cancer, she told me... I cried out and fell on the ground. The news has shattered me. I stood up and requested the doctor to treat my mother, but he informed me that she only had six months to live due to her terrible condition. I requested that the doctor not discuss the patient's condition with her and then left to acquire some cash so that I could go back to the hospital.

My mother was now awake when I got home, so he went to her room. Unknowingly, a tear sprang out of my eye when I saw her. I ran over and gave her a bear hug right away. She holds a special place in my life. She kisses my forehead while giving me a hug.

She inquired about what happened after feeling better. I lied and stated she was unconscious due to stress and needed to get a lot of rest because I didn't want to notify her about her condition. I, therefore, spent the majority of my time with her and did everything in my power to make her happy.

After receiving a call from the hospital after I got home from college and learning that my mother's condition was getting worse, I put down my phone and sped off to the facility. When I got there, I noticed numerous physicians examining my mother's condition in her room. They stopped me and told me not to disturb the procedure as I tried to enter. I'm quite concerned about her health.

After an hour and a half of waiting for the doctor to come out of the operating room and tell me that my mother is no longer alive, I'm stunned.

When I entered her room, I discovered a lifeless body, and everything of our interactions—including how much she loved and cared for me and how challenging her life was—flew through my thoughts. I started crying uncontrollably at that point.

Since the passing of my mum, two weeks have gone by. I realised how significant she was to me at that point. Not only was she always by my side, but she also constantly encouraged me.

I attended my graduation after another year had passed, and as usual, I was by myself.

My daily routine was boring. I studied, left for work, returned home, went to bed, and did it again. Reading fanfiction, light novels, and manga was the only thing that made me happy.

My love life wasn't the greatest. I wasn't ugly, but I also wasn't attractive. I was just a regular person, albeit, given the limited time I had, I was also unable to have a girlfriend.

One afternoon, while I'm driving home from work, I observe a little child—probably 10 or 11 years old—crossing the street as a truck is barreling at her at high speed. I'm not sure what struck me at that precise moment, I come out of the car and sprinted toward the girl to try to save her. The fastest run I've ever done was that one. I shoved the girl when I got there, but the truck had already arrived and struck me. I'm not sure what happened after that. I had no sense of my surroundings. I can only think that I'm either dead or in a coma at this point. I have no knowledge. I just perceive the gloom surrounding me.

I could only see darkness all around me.

Was everything a joke?

I'm baffled since it all seemed very genuine.

quiet, gloom, and emptiness.

How long ago did I first visit this location?

I'm not sure. I simply know that I want to escape this never-ending darkness. Because the silence is making me insane, I want to listen to anything.

A doorway suddenly materialized in the nothingness, and a silhouette emerged from it. The shape changed into the most stunning woman I had ever seen. It was as though the entire cosmos was contained within their elegantly curled faces and eyes.

Her beauty at that moment had me speechless. At that time, I was unsure of what to do.

(Goddess POV)

Goddess: I came to investigate because I sensed a disturbance in the vacuum and some strange energy running through it, and I was convinced that I had found a lost... soul stuck in nothingness. How does a soul exist in a vacuum without going through a rebirth as usual?

Me: Tell me who you are and where we are.

Goddess: My name is Erith, and I am a goddess. You are in nothingness, and I have no idea how you got there. In order to understand how a wandering soul might dwell in a void, let me first verify your memories.

When the goddess Erith waved her hand in my direction, mist-like energy enveloped me for a brief period of time before returning to the goddess.
