Description: Sandile is small, but its legs and lower body are powerful. Pushing sand aside as it goes, Sandile moves through the desert as if it's swimming.

'Holy Fuck', Is this what they call as losing the gold but finding a diamond. His potential is too high, I can't imagine what would have happened if I chose the third option from the choices given. He even has Aqua Tail, I don't remember the egg moves of every Pokemon so maybe it's possible. It's still felt a bit weird that a Ground-type which is naturally found in deserts has a water type move, does that mean he has minor resistance to water?

Overall, Sandile can evolve twice and that means I can make his potential improve. Although Sandile is a Dark/Ground type, it is more of a ground type until it evolves to a Krokorok which improves his dark characteristic side. His ability is also amazing, I am happy that it's not a hidden ability. Some pokemon have better basic abilities than the hidden ones. Sandile is one of that kind.

Ground types are considered patient and Dark types are mischievous, so a mix of both would be a bit weird right? and add Jolly nature to that. My God, I think that's messed up.

I looked at the fainted Sandile closely, I was not sure if I can directly catch him, what if he protests later? But seeing that his injuries are serious, I think I should put him inside the Pokeball. Pokeballs have the effect of minor healing, so it would be better that way I guess. I will ask him about being my starter after he wakes up.

I took out the Pokeball and took him in. The Pokeball did not even shake, it directly took the sandile in and the next second there was a click sound. Although pokeballs have a healing factor, they are too slow. I guess It will take at least a day for Sandile to fully heal.

I stood up and checked my surroundings, sadly everything still looked similar. Same tall trees and same lighting but I could faintly hear the sounds of splashing water. Is there a waterfall around?

I moved towards the sound of water, it's very faint so I assume it will be a good long walk again, I feel very exhausted because of all the running and even my mental strength seems low. I am not able to concentrate at all, I think I should find someplace to meditate and then hunt for food. After that, I need to start strategizing and make plans for Sandile's training.

Before that, I need to subdue him or befriend him. Professor Oak said baby dark types are easier to handle but sandile looks little grown than a baby. Anyway first things first, I should find the water source. With that in mind, Unlike before I started walking cautiously as I have no psychic energy to defend myself.

After an hour:

The waterfall in front of me was aquarium blue, it was drizzling on to the rocks. The bliss-pool at the bottom was varnish clear and I could see some pokemon swimming peacefully. The flowers next to it were nodding gently as the wind brushed through, they had a honey-sweet smell. The temperature here seems to be completely different from the forest inside, It was really warm and friendly.

As I stood in front of a great spectacle, all the pokemon were alerted, they ducked their heads in the water and swam inward. I am a little relieved that the pokemon found in this whole island were all beginner level, they were still a threat but for a mid-grade psychic they don't possess any threat unless a dark pokemon like Pangoro shows up. I still wonder about how Giovanni is able to maintain such an island, not one but he has eight such islands.

I think my luck for this week is playing a huge part in why I am not encountering hostile pokemon. So, it should also help in hunting food right?

I recovered some of my psychic energy but I need more of it to hunt. My instincts warned me not to hunt in the water, so I should go around and find some patrats, pidgeys or pidoves. They are easy to kill and the birds are quite tasty.

I started meditating to recover more energy so that I can feed myself for today, I sat inside a cave which was conveniently present behind the waterfalls. It was empty and desolate, no sign of life whatsoever as if the cave's existence was for my arrival.

I started meditating and the natural energy around here seems to be thicker, which makes me get into the trance state early. I started erasing all the thoughts and started to absorb reddish-pink energy, this world had different types of energies and only the supernaturals can feel it.

I heard that Agatha of elite four can absorb the Purple Ghostly energy around, it increases her vitality. She is way older than Professor Oak but still looks similar in age to him. I don't know about the other effects of Ghostly energy as they are never mentioned in the books.

'Shit.....I keep getting distracted, I should stay calm, erase all the thoughts and.....'

The evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave an orange tinge to the sky. The sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun and It was nearly night by the time I came back to the cave, the hunt went too smooth and I was doubting my reality, I feel like I shouldn't get used to this comfortable life. The more I get comfortable, the more I will suffer after the week. Luck shouldn't dictate your life, it should just be a part of it.

I also got some twigs and wood if in case it gets chilly in the night, I learned the basic camping skills as its a must for any trainer.

I hunted down a flock of Pidoves and three pidgeys, this will be enough for three days. With Sandile's inclusion, it might at least be sufficient for two days. Thinking of Sandile, I think it might be half-healed by now. It's better to release it now instead of waiting till it gets healed completely. Cautiousness can save my life so I took out my Pokeball and enlarged it with a click, I clicked one more time and the sudden white glow blinded my eyes as we were in an enclosed dark cave.

The white gleam disappeared and a brown and black striped pokemon presented itself. Sandile is a short, quadrupedal  Pokemon with a long snout and tail. Its body is mostly light brown except black stripes crossing over and under its legs and its pink underbelly. Its eyes resemble shaded binoculars and are shrouded in black all around their front. The black is a membrane that prevents sand from getting in Sandile's eyes and helps it see in the harsh desert sun. Its feet are flat and contain three sharp, black claws. They are attached to stubby legs on its sides.

Sandile stared at me blankly as if thinking about something, and then he opened his mouth,

"Sandile dile Sand.....ile"

I couldn't understand him at all, so I asked him

"I can't understand you but if you let me pass my energy into your brain then I can speak with you. Is that Ok?" I asked cautiously.

He stared at me for a long while before he slowly nodded. Normally I can't affect him as he is a part dark type but telepathic contact is different, he just needs to relax and not be vigilant. I slowly cast my energy

towards his head, it passes slowly into his brain and magically I felt the connection.

I can't describe the connection, it was as if I can read his thoughts and guess his intentions. I looked at him and sent a telepathic message.

[Now you can speak, just talk inside your mind and project the thoughts towards me]

He was startled by the sudden voice inside him as he stepped back a little but then he calmed down and nodded his head after realisation.

[ Bro..... thanks for saving my life. Although you look like a weird pokemon, I can accept you as my sidekick. No, scratch that.....I will permit you to be my brother.]

'WTF...are you kidding me,' my veins started bulging. This is not what I expected. What do you mean I look like a weird pokemon? Do dark type pokemon talk this weird?

[Hold up, I am not a pokemon. I am a trainer that trains pokemon and make them stronger. And who the fuck is your brother?], I said.

[ You....You make pokemon stronger? and What is a Trainer?], he asked.

[ It is what it states, I train pokemon and make them stronger. So how about it? Want to be my starter?? I can also feed you and teach you to hunt.], I said.

Hearing my offer, he started getting very excited but he calmed down in a second.'Oh, he is not dumb,' I thought.

[Bro, although I am thankful that you saved me, I am not stupid so don't deceive me.]

[What would I get from deceiving you or even saving you? You are weak and almost died out there. But, as you can see that I am a good guy, I will feed you and I can let you join me, you can even be my brother. How does that sound? Are you in?]

I coaxed him, I know I am sugar-coating but what I said is the truth, he is weak right now. Although he is not stupid, baby is still a baby. He might be at most a month old or even less, he is not even grown fully to that of an average sandile. After hearing my offer, he was excited. This time he couldn't calm down.

[Really, Really????? Bro, when I was going to die before you saved me, I made a resolve that I will be the strongest pokemon but I had no hope. Can you truly make me strong and feed me??], he asked.

[ I won't feed you for free but I will teach you how to hunt, I will cook the food you hunt and turn the raw meat into a tasty one. As for becoming the strongest pokemon, it depends on you. I will train you but you need to put your effort into it, the higher the struggle, the higher the rewards. I am just a guy who shows you the path towards greatness.], I stated calmly.

[Bro, you are an angel and don't worry, I will give my hundred percent. I always have this weird feeling when I fight, it's like I am swimming through the sand. It feels very comfortable when I win a battle, but I don't know what it is though.]

'Is he talking about Moxie?'

[Anyway, we will talk about training tomorrow, now let me start a fire and roast the meat. You can wait beside me, after roasting I will share my food with you. Ok?]

When I said food, his eyes gleamed

[Sure Bro, I am extremely hungry now. It's been two days since I ate.], he said.

'Why do I have a bad feeling about this?'

I started a fire with the flint, cave lit up and the slight chilly feeling went away. I took the Pidgey first and started roasting them. Sandile was sitting beside me enjoying the heat and his mouth was watering looking at the meat. I couldn't help myself but pat his head, he looked really cute now. Thankfully, he did not reject my patting, he has a weird personality for a dark type but it still played in my favour.

While cooking the meat, I explained to him about World mechanics, what my goals and situations are. I told everything to him about Team Rocket, Oak and the scenario we are in. I left out my rebirth part but he did not care about anything, he just took all the info I gave.

After fifteen minutes or so, we started eating. I ate one pidgey and Sandile got two, his appetite doesn't match his size. He was gobbling it in with a satisfied expression, it was ok for the taste but I think for a pokemon which never ate roasted meat it might be tasty.

We finished our meal and we were ready to sleep, I wanted to sleep early as I was really tired. I planned to wake up early and go for a berry hunt. I also have to start a training plan for Sandile.

Sandile typing is a bit special, he is the only pokemon species with that typing. His final form has stats equal to a starter pokemon, although those game mechanics won't work here, it still can be said that his final evolution is on par with the big weights.

I read in a book that Krookodile is a special existence in the pokemon world as it can resist the most threatening types. Poison, Ghost, Dark and Psychic are considered the most dangerous typings but Krookodile can crush those types. Although it can't resist Dragons like the other four, krookodile still one-ups them as it can learn the most powerful dragon attacks like Outrage, Dragon claw and Scale shot.

While these reasons make it threatening, it also has its flaws. As the saying goes 'everything is balanced in life', his species has six weaknesses. But the lucky thing is that Krookodile has the most versatile moveset and can hit all the types in existence with super-effective moves. Very few pokemon can do that, maybe you can count them on your finger. I guess I will come up with a plan by tomorrow.

Today has been a long day and while thinking about the advantages of sandile I took a glance to see what's Sandile doing. Funnily, he passed out, I think he was the one who had the toughest days in the last week and finally found some peace. I too started closing my eyes and fell asleep after a while.
