First Fairy encounter
"Gentleman, we are into the final round of auction and there are three special things up for this round. The last two will be pokemon of the highest quality so keep your focus and money ready," said an old gentleman who was the auctioneer.
"Now, first up is an item which will be very useful on electric types, it is a magnet from the body of an Elite Magneton which can boost the power of electric moves by 30%, let's start with the base price of 10k," said the auctioneer.
I was getting a little sleepy as nothing interested me but the moment those words were said, I sat upright.
"Are you interested in it? I thought to buy it as I will bid for your egg. I guess I will give it up for you." Said Brawly who was also keen on bidding for the item.
"Thanks," I said and looked at the ongoing bid which went till 30k. People from the VIP room have a computer inside which can be used to type their bid, it will appear on the screen outside. I immediately typed 40k to which the auctioneer responded,
"Gentleman from the VIP room 4 has bidded forty thousand, is there anyone interested? Oh!!! VIP room 1 has bidded 50k." said the auctioneer again.
"How much is the normal cost usually?" I asked Brawly.
"If it is from an Elite pokemon then it will be of fifty to seventy thousand outside but it still depends upon the market need." He said making me frustrated.
I gave one last bid to see if the other party gives up but he raised the bid to 70k.
'wait!!!! Fuck it. Old man Oak, I am coming to drain your pockets.'
I gave up on the bid immediately and waited for the Pokemon that will be auctioned. I don't need to waste my money on costly items and food as Oak already promised me. I will start saving my money to buy Real Estate or start some business after getting an assurance that Oak will do as he promised.
"Gave up? why?" asked Brawly.
"It's just a waste of money as an Old man promised me to provide me with resources for the growth of my Pokemon," I said making Brawly raise his brows.
"Seems like you are similar to me. I am also under the care of a Rich Old man." He said laughing which made me think of Oak again.
'Dont tell me Oak is targeting all the reputated family kids? I mean he is jumping on every small opportunity he gets to make the future heirs of high-class society listen to him.'
No wonder in ten years he will become the most reputated and popular professor among all regions
"By any chance that old main is not Oa..." I was suddenly cut off by the auctioneer who sold the magnet at 90k.
I instantly shifted my focus towards the Pokemon that will be auctioned. A hot girl came forward pushing a trolley that had my magnemite in a cage,
"This Magnemite has the potential of High-Grade Green stage. His ability is Sturdy with nature being Relaxed. This would be the best partner for anyone who wants a Pokemon that can take heavy hits and at the same time unleash some power-packed beams. I don't need to explain how good a Magnezone is Right? Let's start at a base price of 50k." said the auctioneer.
I was surprised that my Pokemon was pushed ahead of the other one. Is the other pokemon rarer than Magnemite?
Brawly waited till the bid gets past a certain point and then started his bid.

What the hell is happening here? Why is this bid getting crazy? Magnemite bid is at 150,000.
I did not want to disturb Brawly so I was just observing. The fight was intense between Brawly and the guy from VIP room 1.
"160,000"
"180,000"
"200,000"
'That's the standard for an average pokemon of low-grade blue potential. Sunkern is the cheapest blue potential Pokemon ever sold at a cost of 100k.'
After that incident, 100k became the lowest possible amount for a Blue grade Pokemon but for a peak green grade, this amount is crazy.
After another minute Brawly successfully got the Pokemon for 250,000. I immediately asked him,
"Why?? Don't you think you got that for a high cost?"
"No!!! I don't think you understand. Magnemites are not that rare but a high potential Magnemite is the rarest. They have the best typing and their final evolution can ignore most ground type moves. They have a versatile moveset and this magnemite can be upgraded till it reaches blue potential. A Magnezone at that level will be a beast, if trained well it can become a King level or Champion level Pokemon." he said.
'I think having an Appraisal has fucked my logic, maybe I should open a breeder house after I gain a foothold in this world?'
I nodded at Brawly and waited for the final pokemon. My total amount now is 370k as Aipom and Paras got sold for 70k and 50k each. Taking the 8% auction fee, I will get around 340k which will be enough to get what I want.
I don't want to assume that Oak will stay on his promise and also don't want to completely depend on him. Sometimes it is more satisfying to buy with your own earned money, maybe I will buy Tms with my money and depend on Oak for pokeblocks and Items.
"Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the final auction item. We had to change it at the last moment as the Pokemon I am about to show is one of the rarest types. Normally we would auction it for the year-end big auction but the potential of this Pokemon is very low," said the auctioneer and waited to see our reactions.
'Why are my psychic senses ringing now? Is there something fishy here?' I thought.
A guy came forward and gave a Pokeball. Auctioneer adjusted his throat and said,
"The Pokemon I will be presenting is a bit special but I can only show you for a second. This pokemon seems to be a bit abnormal and gets anxiety the moment it sees the crowd." said the Auctioneer in awkwardness.
I was ready to appraise it, my appraisal works on any Pokemon under a fifty-meter radius so it is possible now. Let's see what's so abnormal about this Pokemon.
"Take a good look as I will return it in two seconds," said the guy and summoned it out. Everyone in the room started murmuring as what stood in front of us was a small, grey, rock-like creature embedded with many blue crystals.
The Pokemon immediately got startled by the crowd and started to run away. I used appraisal and the next second auctioneer put it back immediately.

'Very Weird, it is basically like a defect piece but my psychic senses are going off at an alarming rate and it is giving me a headache.'
"This is called Carbink and it was excavated from the Kalos mines. They never appear above the ground and said to have the longest life spans among all Pokemon. Luckily, a noble found it and wanted to put it up for auction today. As a Pokemon, it is highly defensive on par with most tanks out there but do not forget that they are also a fairy type and you saw how adorable it looked right?" said the auctioneer not mentioning the potential.
If he doesn't announce the potential then these guys will go bonkers. I need to do something so that most of them will give up on bidding.
"Oh!!! A fairy type is very rare, I am tempted to bid but I don't think I have much money left. That old man told me not to spend more than 400k, I only have 150k more." said Brawly looking at the Carbinks Pokeball.
I ignored him and typed on the computer to make the auctioneer announce the potential of Carbink.
The Auctioneer who saw my question immediately changed his smiling expression. He was irritated and annoyed as he had planned to sell Carbink for a high price without announcing the potential as everyone ignored that fact.
He still did not answer but some of them noticed my question and started riling him up to announce it.
"Ahhuuu, Ahhu..... I am sorry, I forgot to mention the potential of this extravagant Carbink. It only has Red Grade potential but you can still buy it to show off, it might be a good addition to your collection," he said trying to convince people.
Even Brawly who was enthusiastic a second ago got disappointed. Only some Nobles would be interested in collecting exotic Pokemon but most of them who come here are gang members or some medium class people. No one would spend a huge amount on Pokemon that has the least potential, adding to that Carbink is also genderless which makes them unbreedable if you don't have a Ditto.
Everyone in the auction house started cursing the auctioneer for cheating. Technically, he never cheated, he just hid the fact.
"Calm down, Calm Down everyone. Let's start at a base price of 50k, although it is useless for battle it's still a rare pokemon. Now, is anyone interested?" asked the auctioneer.
There were slight murmurs and the bid got started, it moved at a slow rate as most of them did not want to waste money. Only a few nobles who attended were throwing some money. When the bid was at 120k it stopped as no one gave their quote.
I instantly put up my bid and again the fight continued between me and the guy in VIP Room 1. This bastard was bidding for everything, wasting money for no reason.
The bid went till 200k and finally, the guy from the VIP room stopped. The auctioneer kept asking others if anyone wanted to make a bid but there was no reply. I am starting to have doubts that the guy in VIP room 1 was set up by the auction house to increase the prices.
"Gentleman from room 4 gets the Carbink. The auction ends here so people who bought the items wait in your places while our staff comes to deliver or collect the money."
The lights turned off and Brawly immediately asked me, "Why did you want that Carbink? You don't look like the guy who wastes money for collecting Pokemon."
"I don't know, my instinct told me to get it and I did," I told telling him a half-truth. Brawly got annoyed by my answer and turned his head away mumbling.
The main reason I got Carbink was because of what I read about them on Earth. The Pokemon Diancie on Pokedex had a description that said 'This Mythical Pokémon is the result of a mutated Carbink', my appraisal description was giving me the same signs.
Even if there is a 10% chance to get a Diancie, I will take it. Even if it can't mutate, the potential that said 'fluctuates upwards' is more than enough for doing some research.
The first time after coming to this world, I understood the value of fairy types. I mean a shitty red potential fairy can go for a cost of 200k, I can't imagine a high grade one or a dragon type's worth.
Brawly sat there in silence with anticipating eyes. He was really excited to get a Pokemon that's different from a fighting type. Soon, a lady came inside to collect the money and deliver the items. Brawly paid his amount and the lady gave me the 340k of which she again took 200k. Finally, I was left with 140k.
"Let's go out, I have to buy some Tms and pokeballs. After that, we will do the 2 vs 2 battle. How does that sound?" I said to which Brawly directly agreed.
I rushed to the shops as the Market will get closed in an hour. I bought three luxury balls for 9k and then bought Swords dance and Rain dance. They cost 50k together and I had 80k remaining, I thought about it for a minute and bought an Iron-Tail Tm for 70k. I was left with 10k which almost made me curse out,
'What joy of buying with your own money? Fuck it, from now on, Oak will pay me for Tms too.'
"Ok, I am done, let's go out," I said turning towards Brawly who was amused by rapid changes in my expressions.
"Fine, let's get teleported to Viridian. Don't worry, I will pay for the teleportation costs," he said slyly as if understanding that I had no money.
He mentioned Viridian specifically so this confirms my suspicions of Oak being behind Brawly. Viridian is the closest to Pallet town where his lab is situated.
I gave a nod at that and we moved towards the teleportation area.

Quick heads up to everyone who is thinking Carbink is my fourth Pokemon. No, It is not as it won't do anything in this arc except for staying with the team. As you can see, this is a setup plot for the future, in this arc the only thing that a Carbink does is nothing.
