Evolution

Evolution is a process in which a Pokémon changes into a different species of Pokémon.

With respect to real-world phenomena, Pokémon Evolution is more similar to metamorphosis than evolution. Evolution is mostly independent from the aging process, being triggered by external factors, such as gaining experience in battle or being exposed to certain items.

Evolution is not a merely visual change, as Pokémon of a higher evolutionary stage have different (and usually increased) stats, can learn different moves, and sometimes change types (although normally at least one of the pre-evolved form's types remains the same). Pokémon may also change Ability upon evolution.

Professor Elm and Professor Rowan are the leading experts in Pokémon Evolution. According to Elm's research, over 90% of all Pokémon are connected to at least one other through Evolution (currently the actual percentage is 82%). Rowan's research focuses on whether Evolution is a form of maturity in Pokémon, and looking at the implications of the process on Legendary Pokémon.

When a Pokémon evolves, it becomes a new species of Pokémon. This new species has a different Pokédex number and base stats, and may be a different type, learn different moves, and have a different Ability. The Pokémon's personal properties, however, such as Nature and Shininess, remain.

Now back to the gym match.

Laila POV:-

"Aaaaaabraaaaa"

"Drowseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Both pokemon shout in conformation and the suddenly light shines from both of their bodies brightly on the whole field , and every one gets blinded by it.

"Is that what I think they are going through ?" I say softly in disbelief.

After a few minutes the bright light settles down , and in front of us stand two brand new pokemon after their evolution.

"Kadabraaaaaaaaaa"

"Hypnooooo" both of the new pokemon shout.

"Whoa our pokemon evolved in middle of the battle Kim, lets check out with the pokedex ." Tim calls out his brother and scans his new pokemon. Kim also follows his brother.

*[ Kadabra also known as the Psi Pokémon evolves from Abra and evolves into Alakazam . Kadabra is a primarily yellow, humanoid Pokémon. It has two long, pointed ears on top of its head, a red star on its forehead, narrow, deep-set eyes, and wide cheeks leading down to a thin snout. Extending from its each side of its snout are two mustache-like tufts of fur; a male will have a longer mustache than a female. Kadabra's torso is segmented with bulky shoulders, a thick, brown chest, and a small abdomen marked by three red, wavy lines. Attached to the Pokémon's abdomen is a large, thick tail encircled with a brown band near its base. Its arms are thin with brown elbows and end in three-fingered hands with white claws. Its legs have prominent knees and large, three-toed feet, also ending in white claws. Two of its toes face forward and one backward. Kadabra is always seen carrying a silver spoon, which amplifies its telekinetic powers. A gold spoon does not work as an amplifier and Kadabra is only half as strong without a spoon. It is able to bend its spoon to use Kinesis, its signature move.

Kadabra emits alpha waves strong enough to induce headaches, and can even cause clocks to run backwards, machines to malfunction, and delicate devices to cease functioning altogether. The waves increase further in strength the more danger Kadabra faces. By closing its eyes, it can double the number of alpha particles it emits. When it has a headache, the alpha waves become unusual. All of Kadabra's brain cells work in unison while it uses its powers. Kadabra lives in urban areas.

Weak against Bug/Dark/Ghost type moves and deals double damage to Fighting type pokemon.]*

*[Hypno also known as the Hypnosis Pokémon evolves from Drowzee . Hypno is a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon that has yellow skin. It has triangular ears with brown interiors, sleepy looking eyes, and a large nose. On its neck, it has a ruff of white fur, which is longer on the female. Hypno has five fingers on each hand and holds a pendulum in its left. The pendulum resembles a flat, silver ring and is used for hypnotism. Hypno is never seen without it. It has three toes on each foot, which also have a pink pad on the undersides.

Hypno is able to put people to sleep by swinging its pendulum. It is known to reside away from humans and on less traveled roads. If anyone comes by, Hypno will hypnotize them and eat their dreams. It carries away people having good dreams and is even known to have stolen a child at one point. While it awaits its prey, it polishes its pendulum.

"Amazing they are much more stronger now brother , now we can win this match." Tim exclaims excitedly. Kim slowly nods.

"Okay Kadabra use Psychic on Inkay ." Tim commands.

"Hypno you also use Psychic in Pawniard." Kim follows.

"Quickly Inkay Destiny Bond on Hypno." Just as Inkay uses its move , it is covered with blue outline of Kadabra's Psychic and gets smashed to the ground.

"Pawniard Double team and escape." Pawniard knowing it can't help Inkay now escapes using as its trainer told him to.

So , Hypno's Psychic couldn't lock on to it target and fails.

"Okay Hypno , use Zen Headbutt on Inkay." Hypno shifts its attack onto Inkay and lands a powerful attack on it .

"Inkaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!" my pokemon creies in pain.

"No Inkay hang in there!!!!!!!." I yell with a worried face , and start to think 'Shit I can't let this continue.'

"Pawniard quick use Dark Pulse on Kadabra." I yell to Pawniard.

A dark beam of light quickly comes from every direction , but only one is real due to Double team and lands on Kadabra.

"Hang on Kadabra use Teleport and hang onto Inkay then Thunder!!!!!!" Kadabra grunts in pain but endures and latches on to Inkay and used Thunder on.

"Inkay escape quickly!!!" I shout hurriedly. But it was too late A large Thunderbolt descends from the sky and hits Inkay.

"Inkaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!" creies in pain.

Smoke covers the area hit , And reveals Inkay Knocked out with swirls in its eyes. Then suddenly daek light emerges from Inkay and hits the dazed Hypno.

"Hypnooo?" Hypno confused and suddenly faints.

"WHAT!!!!!!! happend , why did Hypno faint.?" Tik and Kim shout.

I inform them "That was because of the move Inkay used." before I continue they shout.

"But Inkay feinted how can it still use moves and you did not command it to move"

Gaining a tic mark on the forehead , I quickly calm down telling in my mind 'Inner peace'.

"I'll tell you if you both listen and do not interrupt me!!" I tell them seriously.Seeing that I was angry , they nod quickly.

"Good , now where was I Aaaaa It was a move Inkay used at start of the match called 'Destiny Bond'. It's a very good move for tag team matches to take away opponents stronger than you , this moves allows your pokemon to form a link between you and the opponent pokemon and if your pokemon who cast the move feints ,opponents pokemon also feints along with the pokemon who casted it. "

I teach them seriously . As a Gym leader its our duty to let young pokemon trainers improve and learn new things from the gym challenges , this was one of the main reasons gyms were established i.e to guide the trainers in correct path and help them when they seek guidance . It is also to inform the young trainers the dangers of the locality they visit and help them learn new things about the pokemon world.

"It is also a very rare move and can't be learnt. The pokemon should be born with it . It is an egg move of my Inkay. Okay now enough chat lets continue our battle." I inform them. And we both Kim a I return Inkay and Hypno to our pokeballs.

"Okay lets continue. Kadabra use Calm mind!!" Tim battles seriously.

"You to Pawniard use Sword dance once again." We both raise our stats with these moves.

"Okay Kadabra Its our last and final attack put every thing into it use PSYCHO CUT!!!!" Tim yells loudly.

"Okay Pawniard lets also use our last move use 'Agility' then Night Slash!!!!. " I to command Pawniard to use its final move.

Very quickly both attacks collide and a huge explosion sounds out , covering the whole field with dust.

All of us wait anxiously to see the result , as the three of us worry for our pokemon.

The dust slowly clears revealing the damaged field , and in there lies both Kadabra and Pawniard on the ground. Seeing this Grandpa starts to announce

"Both pokemon are Kno--" As Grandpa announces Kadabra suddenly moves and starts to get up , and slowly stands with wounds covering its body due to the earlier clash. I secretly hoped my Pawniard also gets up , but reality sucks . Since , Kadabra evolved and regained all its health and energy, but my Pawniard exhausted its energy due to the battle before they evolved , it couldn't keep up with the energy output and collapsed after the devastating Psycho cut.

Waiting for few more moments and seeing Pawniard is still knocked out and Kadabra still standing . Grandpa announces the final result.

"All of the Gym Leader's pokemon are knocked out and Challengers pokemon is still on field . The winners of the match are the Challengers from Orange Islands."

"Horaaaaaaaaaaaay" Tim and Kim both rush forward and hug Kadabra in excitement , and celebrate.

I sigh and return Pawniard to its pokeball.

"Return Pawniard ,you did a great job Pawniard rest well . " I praise Pawniard. Turning towards the twins I call them.

"Congratulations , Tim and Kim you both are the First to defeat me and Maiden's Peak Gym . Your accomplishment will be noted into your pokedex and your names will be written on the Winners Proof board where who ever defeated me will be there. And your two names are the first.Let me enter the details into your pokedex , and also here are your Gym Badges." I seriously praise them and present them the two Badges I designed.

"Thank you very much . It was the toughest fight we ever had."X2 they both thank me at the same time and put their Badge into the League case given to them where all Gym Badges are stored.

My gym badge is Nebula black with Curve moon . It Shines like the stars in the night and the moon represents my dark type pokemon.

"This badge conforms that you both have defeated my gym and won . Hope you both have a wonderful journey." I praise them presenting my Badge to them.

"Yes!! Gym Leader Laila."they both say to me to continue their journey. And I go to Pokemon center To get my pokemon healed up.
