Chapter 9 Gigantamax

After tending to Gerninja I went back to the pedestal

" So you still wanna go? " Jack shouted from afar

" Sure " I replied pulling out Golett's pokeball

While jack too did the same

With a flash two Pokemon appeared on my side it was Golett and on Jack's side it was Munchlax

" Whoever wins this match will get a Tm of their choice" A voice called out

looking around on the second floor was standing Iris with her blue eyes on them

I nodded

" Golett use special Rollout " I called to Golett and cursed myself for not using Toxic spikes earlier

Golett curled up increasing his defence and then started rolling forward

" Munchlax use water pulse " Munchlax gathered his paws and formed a water pulse not as large as gerninja but still sizeable

The ball surged forward but due to the speed of Golett he swerved to his right effectively dodging

" Now Golett "

Golett hit Munchlax in the stomach

" Munchlax use Reversal " Jack commanded

" Shit " Now that was troublesome as the only weakness of Munchlax was its defence

Munchlax waved his arms with great vigour and hit Golett in the head which stopped Golett's movements but did not damage golett as he is a Ghost-type

" Golett use Thunderpunch " Golett's arm blazed with thunder and hit Munchlax

" munch. " Munchlax bend over coughing

Golett got confused

" Munch lax munch " Munchlax spoke as he heaved in pain

" Golett go left" Golett stopped then placed his hand on Munchlax

Munchlax looked up with his eyes glowing pink

knowing what he was doing I yelled out

" Golett get away from there " Golett who had completely relaxed then looked towards me in confusion

" Don't look at me Golett" I slapped my head

Munchlax who had taken the distraction as an advantage hit him in the back

Golett flew back towards the wall

" Golett Defense curl " As he flew towards the wall Golett curled himself hitting the ball but with lowered damage

" Rollout again " Golett took himself off the wall and flew at blinding speed because of his rage towards Munchlax for being betrayed

Golett use Ice punch

Golett unrolled himself and threw a punch posing in the air as if he was superman.

" Protect Munchlax " Jack yelled

but he was too late as Golett struck Munchlax straight in the face.

Jack became frustrated

" Munchlax Self Destruct " Jack yelled out

Munchlax gritted his teeth and caught Golett by the arm slamming him down on the floor

Munchlax flashed white and then exploded

Normally a ghost would not have been affected but Golett is a dual-type ground and ghost as Golett was stunned which did not give him the chance to phase

Golett and Munchlax both fainted

" This match is a draw " The referee announced" Please return and withdraw the next Pokemon"

" Hmm this match should be a deciding factor for the Tm " Iris coughed as she held a Tm at her side Zoroark

now that was surprising Zoroark are Pokemon that do not disclose themselves easily. It eyed me with cold eyes but then closed its eyes.

I turned to Jack he was giving me a tough competition

just as I was about to pull out the Pokeball

Boom

The power plant shook with a great tremor the sky outside turned stormy red. and then came the pressure. A bloodthirsty aura of madness that in itself threatened to tear everyone apart. I fell to my knees unable to bear the pressure. everyone around me too knelled down.

but just as quickly it had come it vanished.

" Everyone onto your feet. follow the drill everyone" Iris yelled out commanding everyone as he stumbled to her feet

My body felt numb as if not responsive to the commands.

" Here," I looked up to see Jack with his hand outstretched

I snarled to myself as I pulled myself up

we made our way to Justin who had a portable Pokecentre device

I slotted the Pokeballs and waited for them to ding then pulled them out. I had just three fighting Poke with my fourth being currently underaged and not powerful enough.

I ran out of the power station to see a large Pokemon precisely Venasaur squatting in the middle of Riverside

on top of it was a group of people wearing purple outfits and some of them were wearing white suits.

Venusaur is a squat, quadrupedal Amphibian Pokemon with bumpy, blue-green skin. It has small, circular red eyes and a short, blunt snout. Its mouth is wide with two pointed teeth in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw. On top of its head are small, pointed ears with reddish-pink insides. It has three clawed toes on each foot. The bud on its back has bloomed into a large pink, white-spotted flower. The flower is supported by a thick, brown trunk surrounded by green fronds. A female Venusaur has a seed in the centre of its flower.

but the Venasaur in front of me was a Gigantamax Venasaur. As Gigantamax Venusaur, it becomes larger with its flower blooming even further, to the point of covering its body. These flowers have a taller bud, along with extremely thick and springy petals that are capable of shielding Gigantamax Venusaur. Its eyes have light green sclerae and orange irises. More foliage grows from under its flower, and the trunk that supports said flower becomes shorter. It has several light green markings located at its belly.

" That is...What is that?? " Iris stood beside me her face pale as her composture shook

" Gigantamax Venasaur" the words escaped my lips before they could be paused

Iris looked at me with a frown do you know that thing

" Do you know something more like its capabilities or ability? " Iris asked to my surprise that she didn't accuse me.

" Only that it gets new moves and increases its stats if it is a Gigantamax which I know it is then it will have a special move " I rattled out

Iris nodded and then Berg appeared with a microphone

" Everyone we will fight that damn thing so pull out your best we can do this it is just a brute with increased size nothing else " Iris called out trying to cheer up but the atmosphere was too grim

" Sakaki just stop this madness what are you truly trying to achieve " Iris spoke through the microphone to the Venasaur

After a few seconds, a voice came from above the Venasaur

" Iris, this is nothing to do about you we are trying to achieve too great for this mere city why don't you see it I do not know but We Will do anything to achieve the Greatness that is in our veins " The Man Sakaki appeared. A tall man with a hard-set face that had deep lines the man looked to be in his Twenties despite his appearance

" If that is what you have decided then I will protect Riverside " Iris declared

'Hmm this will be difficult without risking my life and I am too selfish for that ' I muttered in my head

" Venasaur use Max Overgrowth" Sakaki yelled out

Iris pulled out her pokeball and switched it

A massive green form came out

A Tyranitar. Tyranitar is a large, bipedal, dinosaurian Pokemon with a green, armour-like hide covering its body. It has two pairs of pointed teeth: one in the upper jaw and one in the lower. Several spikes of varying sizes protrude from the back of its head, neck, and shoulders. Both sides of its chest, the centre of its back, and its knees have two triangular holes. There is a grey, diamond-shaped patch of scales covering its belly, and a smaller one on its back. It has three claws on its feet and hands. A ring of spikes surrounds the tip of its tail. the Tyranitar in front of me was twice the average Tyranitar

" Tyranitar use Dragon dance " Iris commanded to the behemoth

Tyranitar roared out a challenged and stomped once which made the earth shake and then stomped again and again as if giving rise to a rhythm.

Suddenly a sand storm whipped about this must be Tyranitar's ability Sand stream

The max Outgrowth came into effect turning the area around us Green In the area trees and grass grew out everywhere turning some of the buildings into rubble.

I pulled out Gerninja's Pokeball and called him out

He appeared in a flash standing next to me

" Gerninja " he called out on appearing then looked around

" We have to fight that Venasaur, Gerninja are you ready " I spoke to him

He gave me a nod and jumped by the side of Tyranitar Shook as power surged through him

" Venasaur use G max vine lash " Sakaki ordered

" Tyranitar use Fireblast " Iris called out

Tyranitar's jaw widens and a massive blast of fire roared through him causing the ground to crack and burst

A large vine burst free from under the flower of Venasaur and came towards us at blinding speed

The vine stopped mid-air as the Fire blast hit it but continued wards slightly charred

" Haha, do you see the power Iris we can conquer this world but you never saw the better view " Sakaki laughed as he waved his hands maniacally.

" Gerninja jump on the leaf and try to reach the Top" I yelled out to Gerninja who on seeing this took the chance and jumped lading on the vine which had logged in the ground

seeing my effort Jack pulled out his Incineroar

" Incineroar jump on the vine and follow Gerninja "

Gerninja dashed forward

suddenly a large vine tried to knock gerninja down just as it was about to hit Gerninja blurred and disappeared

" What the hell" Sakaki yelled but his attention turned to Iris who had Tyranitar use Hyper beam

Gerninja appeared a few feet away using Extreme speed it almost looked like an instant transmission

Incineroar burned a hole through the vine making it burst as he used Flare Blitz

Together they made their way up top

Sakaki seeing this called out

" Venasaur use Wyrmwind "

a large tornado came out of the petals throwing Incineroar and Gerninja up in the air

" Gerninja use your Hydrokineses to form wings " I commanded in panic as there was no other move which he could call out.

Incineroar got blown way up in the air but at the last second Gerninja formed the wings and glided to the upper part of the flower which was where Sakaki and others stood.
