Disclaimer: I do not own the cover and the Pokemon Series. I will update sporadically whenever I have the time and will to write. This story is slow-paced because he always has a lot to do even at a young age. Especially when he focuses on being a Pokemon Researcher before he starts his journey. This story is more on how Paul will grow up in the Pokemon World, and what he would do with his once-in-a-lifetime given opportunity. It will also have a minor BL theme, though it won't show in abundance until it's already three-fourths of the story. If you're uncomfortable with that, please read at your discretion. Reviews are welcomed, but please criticize with sense and logic, and not for the sake of criticism.

Delivery Quandary

"Do you think it was telepathy?" Paul asked his friends with a surprised face, though looking quite eager to hear his friends' opinions.

A look of comprehension came over Steven and Amber as they heard his question. Though, the blonde was looking quite unconvinced.

"Are you really sure you heard a voice?" Jake asked, skepticism present in his voice.

"Of course!" Paul immediately replied, quite offended. "I'm insulted if you think that I'm not." He finished with a huff, looking away from the blonde.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. If you really think you've heard it, maybe it really was telepathy as you're the only one who can hear it, apparently." Jake placated his red-haired friend, being a bit apologetic and still a little doubtful.

"It's certainly possible." Steven answered to the red head.

Paul looked at the blue head, surprised. "Really? You think so?"

"I believe so." The Devon Corps heir reaffirmed his former statement.

Paul was lying if he wasn't touched. "Thank you." He offered a smile to Steven before continuing, "I really think it was telepathy. Maybe it is from a psychic-type pokemon."

"Yeah, I think so too. Telepathy only has certain ranges right? Maybe we could find the pokemon around here." Amber interjected, offering a smile to her friend, showing her belief on the "voice" that Paul apparently heard, as Jake put it.

Paul gave back a smile while inclining his head in agreement.

"Hmm… It is possible that the pokemon is around here. We should split up though." Paul suggested, which was replied with a nod from his three friends.

"Then… I'll go south, Steven on the east, Amber on the north, while Jake on the west." His friends thought for a while before giving their agreement.

Paul looked at his parents' pokemons, before giving a command. "Alakazam, go with Amber, while Gengar, go with Steven." He paused to look at his pokemons, specifically at Ditto, before he instructed. "Eevee, go with Jake."

He carefully looked at the three pokemons aforementioned as he stated. "Protect them with the best of your abilities." The three pokemons gave their consent, as they shouted out their respective names.

Before starting though, Paul gave a firm reminder, "Well, remember to stay safe. Go back here if you either found something, or you're done exploring your direction." Seeing his friends and the pokemons nod, he uttered a final command. "Now, disperse."

After giving his instruction, Paul directly headed south with Eevee.

The south of the glade was in the direction of the Petalburg Woods, thus the trees located there was much more crowded. After a few minutes, Paul was again, able to hear the voice calling out for help, though now it was with a hint of desperation.

'Help…'

Paul finally confirmed his thoughts, as he was able to feel the telepathic waves that transmitted the voice to him. He now carefully traced the source of the telepathy and was brought a bit deeper into the south. The canopy of the tall trees shadowed the ground, with sunlight peeking bleakly from the leaves.

The red head was finally able to spot the supposedly pokemon who was calling out to him; though, what he saw left him in shock.

He saw a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon whose body resembles a flowing gown, lying on a tree. Most of its body is white, but its hair, arms, and the underside of its gown are green. Its hair curls over its face and down the sides of its head. Behind its red eyes are short spikes, resembling a masquerade mask. It has long arms with three fingers on each hand and slender white legs. A red, fin-like horn extends from its chest, and a shorter, more rounded horn extends from the back. A band of green on its chest extends to the center of the front horn and connects to its sleeve-like arms.

It was a Gardevoir, however it was hovering over a pokemon egg, with three large bleeding gashes on its chest.

Its red eyes, filled with despair, finally shined with hope as it saw Paul approach it. Gardevoir was able to reach out with a telepathic voice to a psychic from his senses, in this case which was Paul. According to its unique ability to detect emotions, it was able to feel shock, worry, anxiety, and fright from the red head.

Paul carefully approached Gardevoir while asking the said pokemon a question, "How can I help you? I'm afraid I need to immediately bring you to the Pokemon Center as I have no medicine brought with me."

'Did Amber bring any medicine?' The red head wondered at the same time.

Gardevoir feebly shook its head as it telepathically spoke. 'My baby… I need help with my baby, can you help me?'

The Crimson Family heir was surprised, but still directed his attention at the Pokemon Egg at the pokemon's embrace.

Saying Paul was surprised is a huge understatement. This Ralts was amazing, as its innate skills are absolutely wonderful moves. This means that this Ralts, when born, could improve twice as fast as normal Ralts as her skills such as Teleport and Future Sight are its innate skills, and the main proficient skills used by the Ralts species.

Though, after the shock faded, he was able to determine what was wrong with the Ralts Egg. Its heartbeat was very weak, only a few feeble beats could be heard; meaning, the life present in the egg might just vanish in a moment.

"What happened?" Paul asked, wanting to know the events that happened so that he could better help them when he knows what occurred to Gardevoir and the Ralts egg. While doing so, he commanded Eevee to call out to his friends to come here, especially Amber, so that they could assist Gardevoir quickly.

Knowing the intent of the red head beside her, Gardevoir quickly shared what happened to her and her baby.

'This morning, my husband, who was another Gardevoir, and I determined that I would give birth today. We were so excited; thus, we eventually came to a cave where we prepared a month ago for delivering the baby. At the moment of giving birth, an Ursaring wanted to come into the cave.'

She paused, trembling, before continuing, 'My husband tried to communicate with Ursaring, wondering why it was forcing its entry into the cave. It didn't give us much time to converse as it only stated that after hibernating on a different place, someone already stole his cave. It was enraged and directly attacked my husband.'
