The two girls didn't even bother to look at the boy walking away. They focused all of their energy staring at the girl who seemed like she only cared about eating their cakes after she was finished with hers!
The strange girl didn't say anything and only kept staring at their cakes with drool coming from the side of her mouth. Not being able to take it anymore, Ally pushed her cake towards to weird girl and as soon as she did, the gunmetal grey-haired girl picked up her spoon and happily ate it.
"Sigh. What a peculiar girl. I know Jax hasn't been to his house in a long time. But I haven't seen this girl around campus so she's not staying at the dorms. Just where did she come from?"
"Who knows? Maybe Jax is just lying and this girl has a family she returns to every day?"
"No, I know Jax and he isn't a liar. Well, since she's here, we can just ask her."
Turning towards the girl who just finished devouring her second cake and was looking at Evie's, the two bestfriends came up with a plan after exchanging a glance.
"Hey, you want my cake?" Pushing her cake towards the girl, Evie yanked it back just before the mysterious girl could put her hands on it.
"First, answer our questions and if we are satisfied, I will give you the rest of my cake."
Nodding her head, Metsys just went along with what Evie said. In fact, the only thing in her head right now was that wonderful taste in her mouth and she would do anything to get another bite of it!
"How did you meet Jax?"
"Mountains."
"What are you to Jax?"
"Support."
"Where did you come from?"
"The skies?"
"What? The skies? Why do you sound confused? We're the ones who are confused."
"Evie, let me ask the questions. Mhm. Let's start with the basics. What's your name?"
"Jax calls me Metsys, so I am Metsys."
"I see, so Jax was the one who gave you your name?"
"Mhm."
"Then, what about the name your parents gave you?"
"None."
"None? They didn't give you a name?"
"No, no parents."
Shocked at the revelation, the two girls started thinking about the worst. Afterall, if a young girl tells you that she didn't have any parents, the first thing you would think of is that they must have perished. Feeling that her question was too insensitive, Ally had an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry, Metsys. I didn't know you no longer have parents. Then, where do you stay every night?"
"With Jax."
"In his dorm?"
"No, in his world."
Those with psychic abilities were usually smarter and more analytical than anyone else since psychic abilities stemmed from the mind but no matter how smart Ally was, she just couldn't comprehend this conversation no matter how she tried.
After going back and forth asking and answering questions, Ally found out a little more about this mysterious girl named Metsys. She's been with Jax for a very, very long time. She had a plethora of knowledge about not just pokemon but the world in general. That wasn't to say she was wise but just that she was incredibly knowledgeable. She has been helping Jax on his journey and giving him tips and tricks and was also close with his pokemons. In fact, she even knew about their pokemons when they had never shown them to her!
Even though the girl was still if not more mysterious than before they met, Ally was satisfied with some of her questions being answered. The most important thing she took away from this conversation was that Metsys posed no threat to her position! Like how Evie was constantly supporting her, Metsys played the same role for Jax, a friend, a best friend.
While the three girls were finishing up their conversation, Jax had already returned to the dorms. Tomorrow, he would be challenging his first official Gym battle and this would be his big debut. Any student who was accepted into Pokemon Academy always had a huge amount of spotlight from all over the Rexor region. That was because only the best of the best, the elites, could attend this prestigious academy. Even then, there were special ones among the students.
Ally, Olivia, George, Walter Jr., and Evie always had the press talking about their achievements. From their backgrounds to school grades, from their school battle competitions to their pokemons, none of the five students were unknown. That's why the press didn't think any of them were ready to face a Gym because even with high level pokemons, their battle prowess was still lacking.
So imagine their surprise when the Alliance made a shocking announcement, a Pokemon Academy student was challenging his first gym, the Rock-type gym led by Evans!
