"Vioarr, tactic Circle 1. We don't know enough about them so let's play it safe!"
"Froggie, Surf."
Even though they were technically on a battlefield, there wasn't any concept of 'out-of-bounds' since a move like Surf could just as easily push a pokemon off. The school were raising students who would one day fight an evil criminal organization and as such, didn't want to handicap the children with strict regulations. You think a criminal would stop attacking once their pokemon was 'out-of-bounds'? That concept didn't even exist out in the wild where most battles occurred!
Being pushed back by the water pressure, Vioarr used Iron Tail on the ground the anchor himself. As the move ended, the field was left wet and slippery which made it that much harder for Jax and Vioarr to battle comfortable. Froggie, on the other hand, was using his webbed foot and gliding across the water's surface like, well, like a frog on water.
"Vioarr, you know the drill! Protect and Endure! Cast Leer if you have the time."
Following his orders, Vioarr did the following with the maxed-out Leer being successfully applied. Casting it two more times in quick succession, Froggie's DEF and SP DEF dropped as low as it could go. 'Nice, if we just get in one good attack, I think we can KO him.' Jax was ecstatic that things were going so well for him.
"It's too soon to be feeling relieved, don't you think? Froggie, Growl."
"Shoot! Dodge it!" But how was Vioarr suppose to dodge a growl? It was literally just Froggie growling towards him and with his sensitive ears, even if he ran back home, he could probably still hear it!
Casting Growl thrice, Froggie was able to lower Vioarr's ATK and SP ATK down by six stages. Now, it was like neither Leer nor Growl was used in the first place. Vioarr wasn't just sitting still while Froggie was growling; however, as he used Venom Drench and Toxic Spike. Since the whole floor was covered in a layer of water, the acid was able to spread throughout the whole field while the poisonous barb were scattered here and there by the water's movement.
"Look out for the barbs, Froggie. Not much we can do about Venom Drench, however. I know, let's spread out our own!" As such, Froggie casted his own Toxic Spikes which was one level higher than Vioarr's, it was MAX level! With its qualitative change, Toxic Spikes affected every pokemon, regardless of their typing!
"Tsk! Vioarr, you're stupid if you step on their barbs! Since they want to play it this way, use Dig in the center of the field!"
Not understanding his trainer's orders, Vioarr looked quizzically at Jax but decided to trust him. Jax hasn't been wrong yet and even if one day he did make the wrong command, as his brother, Vioarr would still comply! As Vioarr used Dig in the center of the battleground, all the water started flowing towards it. 'AH, HA! That's what he was planning!' Understanding Jax's plan, Vioarr continued to dig a deeper hope and then tunneled out aboveground again.
"Tsk. They made a giant sink. Smart. Froggie, let's give them a little surprise. Ice Beam the water."
With unconditional trust in his trainer, Froggie used Ice Beam on the water before it could all disappear into the whole; as such, the whole field was now frozen solid like an ice rink. Realizing his trainer's superior intellect, Froggie looked over at the purple lizard and smirked. 'Your trainer isn't the only one who can think outside of the box.' Sliding over, Froggie used the move that pokemon hated most! Taunt! Besides making sure that pokemon couldn't use any status effect moves, it also made the recipient extremely made and recklessly charge towards the user!
"Vioarr, don't stop charging! Use TT!"
Not realizing how much trouble he was in, Froggie continued his antics of wiggling his butt in front of the purple lizard to further infuriate him. "Not good! Froggie, stop dancing and use Water Gun on the ground! Propel yourself up!" Hearing Evelyn's voice too late, by the time Froggie was beginning to cast his Water Gun, Vioarr was already upon him!
"Now! Thrash that frog!"
POOF!
Before Vioarr could land the hit, a giant, black smokescreen spread out from Froggie causing Vioarr to lose sight of him and completely missing. "Whew, thank goodness Froggie wasn't too arrogant to think he could take that head on." Evelyn sighed in relief as she saw Froggie's blue aura far away from Vioarr's purple aura. Before she could issue her commands; however, she saw that Vioarr was charging directly towards her pokemon! 'What? How can he see with all this smoke!?'
From watching Ally's and Evelyn's battle earlier, Jax was able to see that he had been too naïve in the way he handled his powers. Ally was able to connect her vision with Mewton's so why couldn't he do it too? Taking it one step further, Jax concentrated his aura powers with his psychic abilities before connecting with Vioarr; thus, Vioarr was able to see auras too! With this new found tactic, Vioarr prepared another TT and charged directly towards Froggie!
BOOM!
As the smoke and dust were blown away from the impact of the collision, all the student's looked on in horror! The sight was just too much for these young children to bear! One pokemon was lying down on the ground not moving a single muscle while the other one was moving way too much! Froggie laid unconscious on the ground while Vioarr was…dancing on top of the fallen pokemon! Slapping his head, Jax recalled Vioarr back inside his Pokeball and ran off, too embarrassed for the winner's press conference. In front of the entire school body, his pokemon was just seen dancing off beat over a defeated foe. What honor!? What chivalry!? It's all over!
