After all 5 Lectures Ethan went towards Teacher's Restroom with Max so that he can get his pokemon registered on his name and can start training his Scyther, and now he also had one sparring partner who can help him in training Scyther.

At Teacher's Restroom Area, Ethan went to Professor Wood's Cabin and knocked on the door, "Sir I am Ethan Smith from Section-B First Year, can I come in"

"Yes, come in" replied Professor Wood and Ethan entered with Max.

Professor looked at Ethan to know the purpose of his visit, "Professor we are here to get our pokemon registered on our name." Said Ethan.

"Good Good, its really great to know that you at age of 8 not only topped exam but also have your own pokemon, taming and training a pokemon can be difficult but I think talented people like you won't have any problem with that." Said Professor with a big smile on his face than he looked towards Max who was standing behind Ethan, "Mr. Maple, such a pleasure to see two talented students in my class, I am really proud and I hope you both will make me proud by ranking high in Annual Exams too."

Ethan and Max both nodded with smile on their face, though they were little nervous, They both gave there pokeballs to professor along with their ID card, Professor Wood put Ethan's Pokeball and ID card on a device and after only 5 minutes he gave it back to Ethan, "You are really talented Mr. Smith, your scyther is already at Early Intermediate level and after looking at its move mastery, I don't think you will take much long to reach Peak Intermediate Level with your Scyther." Professor Wood praised Ethan.

After that he did same with Max's pokemon and he was too surprised and happy with the result, "Mr. Maple you aren't far behind Mr. Smith, you both are really a rare genius because out of 15 trainers who got their pokemon registered only you two have pokemon at Early Intermediate level and both of your pokemon will reach Peak Intermediate level by end of this year." Professor Wood praised both of them and gave some tips about training their pokemon. A student with pokemon in Pokemon university receives top pokemon food for pokemon but those food aren't specifically for any type, if a student wants a specific type food than they will have to pay for it from their pocket which many students don't prefer and continue with the food provided by University as it is also good for pokemon.

After coming out of Professor Wood's Cabin both Ethen and Max walked towards their room when suddenly Ethen asked, "Max can we both train our pokemon together, it can benefit us both and we can quickly enhance mastery of moves of our pokemon."

"I was going to ask same." Replied Max, he was also looking forward to train with Ethen.

Ethen and Max trained hard for whole year together and they were finally able to get their pokemon to Peak Intermediate Level. In this whole year they both learned alot about training pokemon, Their Moves, habitat, history of Kanto Region, effect of region over pokemon like Alolan Vulpix is Ice type where as Vulpix in Kanto is fire type.

In first semester again Ethen topped and Max was second but only by 2 numbers, they both became too close friends over year, which was a good thing for our MC. Ethen and Max also got three new sparring partners in this period of one year, one Shauna with her Meditite, Janina with her Onix and Tommy Harrison (Brother of Gym Leader Brock Harrison) with his Geodude.

One year was over and all the students were going back to their home to spend 2 months vacation with their family (or very long vacation). As per policy of University, they send a letter of promotion to all the students who got promoted to next year, 2 weeks prior to the date of start of new year. So no students knew whether they will be promoted or not except few who were placed in top 10 of exam held for Semester 1, because those students can easily get placed within top 50% of first year as their combined average can still be good even if they get less marks in second semester.

Students boarded on the ship which was going to Vermilion City and from there all students from other regions take cruise to their regions.

"One year is over." Said Ethen to his 4 friends who were also sitting in his room.

"Yeah, we all will be meeting again in two months, and I promise when I return I will surely beat you Ethen." Said Max while curling his hand in a fist and with determination in his eyes.

"Sure, I will wait for it." Replied Ethen and laughed a little. In past one year none of these four trainers were able to defeat his Scyther, his scyther also got Sword Dance at Expert level along with his newly learned move Agility at Intermediate Level. He was too close to making his Scyther reach Early Elite level which can be done in these two months under training of Pseudo King level pokemon of his parents.

They all chatted for a while and returned back to their own rooms to sleep as early next morning they were going to reach Vermilion City and can meet their parents (As even for students from other region will have their parents waiting for them at Vermilion city).
