EPISODE 47: Stop Slacking, Keep on Moving!
Squirtle! The tiny turtle Pokemon has decided to join Glade's journey after saving him from a black market customer, named Lumbo. Lumbo tricked me and my friends into paying him in order to see rare Pokemons. But when Lumbo showed us the Pokemons, they aren't rare at all. In fact those Pokemons are Magikarp, Metapod, Rattata and Squirtle all coming from the Kanto region. This made Glade angry, and forced Lumbo into a Pokemon battle wherein Lumbo lost. Officer Jenny was able to arrest Lumbo after what he did. The Pokemons were set free but Squirtle thanked Glade and joined him!
Glade was curious about Squirtle's moves. So he decided to use his Pokedex to scan Squirtle. [Squirtle currently knows four moves. These moves are Rain dance, water gun, bite, and protect.]
"Hmm, I'm familiar with water gun and bite, but I've never seen any Pokemon using rain dance and protect." Glade wondered as he wasn't familiar with the other two moves.
"Then, why don't we battle! A one on one Pokemon battle." Zhery suggested.
"Sure thing Zhery! In this way, Squirtle could train and I on the other hand can learn about rain dance and protect." Glade smiled and accepted the challenge that Zhery gave.
"And I will be the referee of this match!" Camellia volunteered.
I on the other hand, decided to watch and observe the battle against Zhery and Glade.
"This will be a one on one battle! The first Pokemon to be knocked out by the foe loses the match!"
"Go Squirtle! Its time to learn about you." Glade instructed as he sent out his Squirtle from the Pokeball.
"Eevee! Show them your new moves!" Zhery instructed as she sent out her Eevee from the Pokèball.
"Wait Eevee learned new moves?" Me and Riolu were in awe.
"Yup! And you'll have to watch so you could see Eevee's new Pokemon moves!" Zhery answered.
"The battle will begin in three seconds, three! two! one! Battle Begin!"
"Squirtle use water gun!"
"Eevee dodge with dig!"

*Eevee dodged the attack by digging underground.*
"Squirtle keep a keen eye on where Eevee will pop up!" Glade warned.
"Eevee go up now!"

*Eevee dug its way up to Squirtle and pounced at Squirtle.*
"Oh no! Squirtle are you alright?"
: Squirt! Squirt! Squirtle! Squirt!
Squirtle can still battle!
"Eevee use double kick!"
"Squirtle use protect!"

*A large transparent dome covered Squirtle and protected it from double kick!*
"Squirtle now use rain dance!"
"Eevee use Iron tail!"

*Eevee's iron tail missed! It started to rain due to Squirtle's rain dance! Water-type attacks are increased.*
"Great! Squirtle now use water gun!"
"Eevee use dig!"

*Squirtle missed! Eevee used dig and went up on Squirtle!*
"Oh, no Squirtle!"
"Eevee use double kick!"

*Squirtle wasn't able to respond quickly! Squirtle was hit with double kick!*
"This match is over! The winners are Eevee and Zhery!" Camellia proclaimed.
"Squirtle! You did your best."Glade complemented.
The battle I just witnessed was super amazing! Zhery hasn't lost any battle yet, making her undefeatable!
After that extreme battle! It was time to move to route nine, a route which leads to Photia-heart City. We were about to leave route eight until we saw a huge Pokemon blocking the path. The huge Pokemon looked like a gorilla. It was sleeping with two other Pokemons.
"Great! How can we go to route nine now?" I teased.
"Huh? Hey Irys, please scan the Pokemons." Camellia begged.
"Sure! No problem. [Slakoth! The slacker Pokemon! A normal type. Slakoth lolls around for over 20 hours every day. Because it moves so little, it does not need much food. This Pokémon's sole daily meal consists of just three leaves.]
[Vigoroth! The wild monkey Pokemon! A normal type, and the evolved form of Slakoth. Vigoroth is always itching and agitated to go on a wild rampage. It simply can't tolerate sitting still for even a minute. This Pokémon's stress level rises if it can't be moving constantly.]
[And finally, Slaking! The lazy Pokemon, a normal type and the evolved form of Vigoroth. Slaking spends all day lying down and lolling about. It eats grass growing within its reach. If it eats all the grass it can reach, this Pokémon reluctantly moves to another spot.]"
"Woah! Such lazy Pokemons." I uttered.
"I know right? They're lazy just like you!" Zhery teased.
"Hey! I'm not lazy!" I objected.
"Both of you, stop fighting! So we can figure out a way to wake up these Pokemons!" Glade facepalmed.
"It isn't my fault, Zhery started it!"
"You're lazy Kalem! lazy lazy lazy!" Zhery teased.
Glade stood between us and stopped us from fighting. Zhery is always the one picking up a fight! Why do I have to be scolded?
"Slakoth! Vigoroth! Slaking!" I tried to shout at their ears but they still won't wake up. They continued to sleep peacefully and snored loudly.
"Hmm, maybe if we tried to give it some food, the three of them would wake up!" Camellia hunched.
"Oh yeah! maybe that would work!" Zhery agreed.
We went to the forest to find some Pokemon berries and Pokemon fruits for Slaking to wake up. Then we returned to the blocked path and placed some food on the ground. Hopefully the three of them will be able to smell the food.
"Look its working! Slakoth is waking up." Camellia observed.
Slakoth woke up slowly by slowly, after seeing the food on the ground Slakoth was in awe! He rushed towards the food and went back to the forest.
"I guess Vigoroth and Slaking doesn't want food." Glade hunched.
"At least we'll have to deal with two Pokemons left!" Camellia said with positivity.
"But how can we wake up Vigoroth this time?" I queried.
"Hmmm, if we try to irritate Vigoroth's skin... Then maybe he'll wake up to scratch it!" Camellia guessed.
"Woah Camellia! I didn't know that you were this smart!" I complimented.
"Thanks Kalem... I just came up with the idea from the Pokedex entry of Vigoroth" Camellia smiled as her cheeks turned red.
We tried to find something that would irritate Vigoroth's skin, but we couldn't find any.
"Looks like there's nothing that could irritate Vigoroth." Glade concurred.
"Come on Glade! Don't give up." I tried to persuade Glade's tired legs.
"Fine... Let's keep searching." Glade uttered as he stood up from the log.
"Ah! I know, we can use these Spelon berries instead!" Camellia suggested.
"Spell? what?" Zhery got confused.
"A Salon berry! It's very spicy, maybe instead of irritating Vigoroth, we could just burn Vigoroth's mouth with the spiciness of the Spelon berry!" Camellia suggested.
"Cool! Let's try that." I agreed with Camellia's suggestion.
We went back to the path and saw Vigoroth and Slaking sleeping deeply like sleeping beauty! When Vigoroth was about to snore, we dropped the Spelon berry into Vigoroth's mouth.
"Eww, Vigoroth's breath stinks!" Zhery exaggerated.
"Yeah I know right, he's breath smells like yours." I teased.
"Why you little kid!? I'll get you back next time! Just you wait." Zhery badgered.
Everything was going according to plan, Vigoroth woke up because of the spiciness of the Spelon berry. Vigoroth went to a pond to soothe the spiciness.
"Great! I guess its the King whose left." I teased.
"King?" Zhery queried.
"Yeah! Slaking is the king of slacking! That's why his name is Slaking." I explained.
"You're bad at teasing. That joke wasn't funny at all!" Zhery teased.
"You just wait! I'll be the last to laugh!" I badgered.
"Hmm, I'm starting to run out of ideas!" Camellia sighed.
"Well, we can try attacking Slaking!" I suggested.
"Well, that'll make Slaking rampage all over the route just like the Mankey infestation back in route two." Glade objected.
"Well, you make a point. But what could wake up Slaking?" I queried.
"Ah! Kalem, why don't we tickle Slaking!" Riolu suggested.
"Oh! That's right! Great suggestion Riolu."
I translated the suggestion to my friends and they didn't like it. They loved it.
I asked Zorua to tickle Slaking since Zorua is the tricky fox Pokemon! She's the expert in pranks.
"Alright Zorua, do your talent!" I uttered so that Zorua would feel determined.
"Pranking is not my talent! I don't even know what pranking means!" Zorua sighed.
She went on top of Slaking and tickled his back. While tickling Slaking's back, Zorua laughed in excitement. Tickling was fun for Zorua.
"Oh no, Zorua likes tickling!" I sighed.
"What's wrong with that?" Camellia queried.
"If she likes tickling, she'll tickle me for the rest of my life!" I answered.
Zorua learned how to tickle, which I was hoping she wouldn't.
: SLLLLAAAAAAAAKIIIIIIINNNNGG!!!!
The Pokemon shouted in rage as it woke up from his sleep.
Slaking saw Zorua on top of him, and grabbed Zorua.
"Ummm... Help anyone?" Zorua pleaded.
"Alright Kirlia come on out and use shadow ball!" I instructed to save Zorua.
Kirlia used a shadow ball and got Slaking's attention. Slaking placed down Zorua and started to rush towards me like a crazy ape who lost his marbles or something?
Me and Kirlia wasn't able to react quickly, but Riolu protected me and Kirlia by automatically using force palm!
Slaking was forced back.
"Are you alright Kalem and Kirlia?" Riolu asked. Kirlia and I nodded. Riolu started to glow again! Riolu was getting taller, Riolu was evolving but Riolu tried to hesitate.
"Riolu, you're evolving!?" I got shocked when all of a sudden, Riolu stopped Glowing and stopped evolving.
"Riolu why did you stop?" I queried but Riolu didn't answer me and just attacked Slaking.
"Kirlia are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah... I'm fine, thanks to Riolu." Kirlia complemented.
Camellia came close to see if I was ok.
"Are you alright Kalem?" Camellia queried worryingly.
"Yeah... I froze in fear... that's all." I explained as I stood up.
Riolu attacked the raging Slaking!
I tried to observe Riolu, why did he stop? Why did he hesitate to evolve?
In the meantime, Kirlia and Zorua helped Riolu and Slaking gave up and ran back to the forest.
"Finally, that rampage is over," Glade uttered in relief. My three Pokemons rushed to me and cuddled me tightly.
"You three were great! Excellent teamwork!" I complimented as they smiled back at me.
After that tragic rampage that nearly paralyzed me for good, we all ate dinner together. Riolu, Kirlia, and Zorua deserve to eat a lot after protecting me and my friends from Slaking.
My mind started to worry and wonder about Riolu. Why did Riolu stop evolving? What was the reason? I want Riolu to evolve, but this was the second time wherein he stopped evolving. After dinner, we all looked at the stars above, our minds were at peace and our passions burned as the journey continues.
