Chapter 1Chapter One: Pokémon Rising Volt

Earth, somewhere in Australia. An adult in his early 20s was inside his room reading Pokemon novels all weekend.

The man was wearing stinking clothes that smelled like something you didn't want to smell or be near, and his hair and face hadn't looked clean in weeks.

The man's name was Troy Nightmare. He is a resident of a small suburb, living in a unit apartment. He was currently going through and reading most Pokémon fan novels. Some were good, while others were just not to his taste.

Troy, a young man who had been like a robot his whole life, had found joy in reading novels, especially Pokémon. All his life, he had just gone to work stocking shelves every single day.

"Fuck me, that novel sucked, where is the heart and soul in it? Why does this novel feel like the same as the other novels, and all the good ones are nowhere to be seen?

All of a sudden, I heard a bang on my door. I got up to go see what it was, and when I opened the door, my life flashed before my eyes. What I saw was a goddamn Truk-kun driving straight at me.

Ha, so this is what death feels like—all black and nothing just floating in the empty void. I thought I would meet some god saying I get to reincarnate into a fantasy world."

Suddenly I saw the dried-up ceiling. The moment I was about to get up, memories started to flow into my head, and my eyes felt like they were going to pop out from all this pain I was feeling. After about 4 minutes, which felt like hours, I started to get up and went to look in a mirror. What was standing in front of me was not a 20-year-old man but an 11-year-old boy whose name is also Troy Nightmare. After remembering everything, I couldn't hold my emotions back. "I'm actually in the Pokémon world."

"Will you shut the hell up? I'm trying to sleep." The person who said that was my roommate in the orphanage where I live, in an orphanage in Pewter City. And today was the day we would be able to get our first Pokémon, or so I thought. Turns out being an orphan means someone's going to give you a free Pokémon, and we have to get it ourselves.

What I saw in my memories was not pleasant. It turns out Pokémon are not your friendly, loveable creatures you can be friends with, but actually killing machines that kill a lot of wannabe trainers.

I remember the older orphans who went to go catch a Pokémon being found dead the next day, and no one seemed to care like it was a usual thing. But there was actually another way to get a Pokémon without dying, and that was to join Team Rocket, the biggest Mathia-like organization in the whole of the Kanto and Johto regions.

As much as I would want to get a Pokémon the safe way and join Team Rocket, it just felt like I would be doing the same thing as in some other novels. So my third option is to go buy a poke ball with the 200 poke dollars I've saved up in this life.

With it being early in the morning, I had gone to the poke Mart to buy a poke ball, and after hustling for a good price, I was able to save 50 poke dollars. Once I got 1 poke ball, I had to do the most dangerous thing, and that was getting a Pokémon, and the only way to get one is to go into the Viridian Forest. Just as I was about to go into the forest, I started to develop a headache and fall on my knees in pain, where everyone else just minded their own business. As the pain started to disappear again, something had changed. My golden spoon had appeared now that I was looking at Pokémon. I started to see something like their aura glowing different colors in my left eye, and in my right eye, their moves and abilities were being shown. Soon my mouth started to smile like I was a crazy person, forgetting I was in public.

While still standing there with a grin, an officer came over and said, hey kid, what do you think you're doing in the middle of the path standing there like an idiot?" But as soon as he saw my clothes, he immediately started to grin and ask, "Where do you think you're going with that poke ball? Did you steal it?" He grabbed the poke ball out of me and pushed me on the ground. While all that was happening, a familiar voice appeared: "What do you think you're doing with that kid? "Who wants to know? When he turned around, his grin disappeared because the person who was behind him was Officer Jenny. "Let go of that child, and what do you think you're doing with that poke ball? "Officer Jenny, ma'am, this non-alliance kid stole this poke ball, so I took it off him."

"Stole that poke ball. Yeah, right, just this morning I saw that kid go into the poke Mart and buy that poke ball himself. Now hand that poke ball back to him and report to the station now. Looking at Officer Jenny, I couldn't help but think how original she looked in the anime.

When she felt my gaze on her, she looked in my direction and snatched the poke ball back and gave it to me. "Sorry about that kid; it's my fault for not training that officer properly. Here, this is for the trouble he gave you." Getting out of her pocket, she took an ultra-ball out and gave it to me.

After thanking her, she left with the other officer for punishment. "So, this is the Pokémon world, and I think I might like this life.

AUTHOR'S THOUGHT —-----------------------------

This is my first time writing a story, so feedback would be nice to know what to improve on. This story might have the same cliche elements, but I will try to make it an original story.
