Pokemon: Reborn as Ash! Kanto to Jhoto

Being reborn was not part of the plan but neither was being killed in an accident. At least I have a second chance and a really sweet mom and an angel for a cousin and aunt now. It's not so bad I guess the only down side I was a woman now I'm a boy but I can get used to it. It helps I don't remember everything I suppose. Ah why are the names so familiar? Wait.... Pokemon are real now? Well at least it's not SnK or Death Note right? Hmmm Ah! Looks like the Pokemon world is a mix of anime, game and manga. Oh my! Holy macaroni they are twice as dangerous than what the anime, game or manga showed. I have been tricked! Trigger Warning for implied kidnapping, rape, murder and torture. Note: This is a work of leisure and completely self indulgent and a fanfic. I got inspiration from reading many reincarnation stories on fanfiction net. I just had to write one as well. As for the pairings, I'll think about it as the story progresses. Plus I write it during free time so I don't exactly have a schedule for updates. I'm writing this for my own amusement. And it is slow paced, like I can only put out one chapter per week. Pokemon is not mine. Trigger Warning people! Do people even read this? Enjoy fanfic lovers!

New Life

Taking part in something as mundane as a quiz brought back memories of doing other quizzes before to win toys. If there was one thing Ash was grateful for was the lack of headaches whenever it happened, the most he would react was a startle, but over the five years he had learned to go with the flow. He remembered taking quizzes in class filled with children who's faces he couldn't see and also quizzes for winning toys and merchandise. He remembered the feeling of joy when he won a toy doll from answering a quiz on TV of all things.

Ash, 'Was I that crazy about it? How innocent!'

Gary took out a second magazine with the same quiz, "Here Ashy! Answer those questions and tear the page from where it's written 'Tear here!'. We can send the answers by post."

Ash smiled, "Thank you Gary! Wait do you have two of the same magazine?"

Gary rubbed his head, "Gramps usually buys three copies so we won't fight over it. Since Daisy is not here, I sometimes take her copy too."

Ash picked up a pencil, "Huh! That's useful for us!"

Gary grinned, "Right?"

Ash, "What is a water type Pokemon's weakness?"

Gary, "Grass types!"

Ash, "Electric types too!"

Gary, "What are the three starters for Kanto?"

Ash, "That is obvious!"

Gary, "Yeah!"

Ash, "What is a Pidgey's final form?"

Gary, "Pidgeot!"

Gary, "How many Kanto eeveelutions are there?"

Ash, "Three! Wait Kanto eeveelutions? Does that mean other regions have their own?"

Gary scratched his head, "I guess! We can check it out later. Gramps might know about it."

Ash nodded, "Let's finish this quiz quickly and ask him."

Gary, "Yeah! I'm very curious now!"

The two boys got to work and answered the questions in the quiz. There were around fifteen questions on the paper, and all of them Ash guessed were basic questions. He easily answered most of them though some questions had him thinking for a while. The two finished the quiz before going on search of the eldest Oak. Gary led Ash towards the lab area which was connected to the house and called for his grandpa.

Samuel, "Gary, Ash! What is the matter?"

Ash smiled, "We had a few questions Professor! But first ummmm. Do you have any post cards we could use and envelopes?"

Gary smiled sheepishly, "We need one each to send our answers for the quiz."

Samuel looked at what they are holding and laughed, "Of course kids! Of course! Give me a moment!"

The Professor went through some of his shelves before returning with brown envelopes and postal cards. Ash and Gary wrote their addresses on it and sealed their answers inside before going to put them inside the letter box. Once that was done they returned back to the lab and Samuel had them sit in the office with him and heard their question as he did some paperwork.

Samuel, "Well you are not wrong in guessing that other regions have their own eeveelutions. Kanto has Fire, Water and Electric types, Jhoto has Psychic and Dark types and Sinnoh has Grass and Ice types. The other regions that are not easily accessible no doubt have their own eeveelutions as well."

Gary's eyes sparkled, "That's awesome Grandpa!"

Ash nodded his head vigorously as Samuel laughed, "They are, aren't they? Thanks to all the different types there is a new Master title, the Eevee Master."

Gary, "An Eevee Master? I want to become one!"

Samuel smiled at his youngest grandson, "I'm sure you will be a fine Master, Gary."

Gary grinned brightly, "Thanks grandpa!"

Samuel turned to Ash, "What about you Ash? Have you decided what you want to become?"

Ash shook his head, "I don't know what I want to be but I do know I want to try everything before deciding."

Samuel laughed, "I see! I see! Very well! What are these things you want to try though Ash?"

Ash, "Well I want to try coordinating and battling both and I want to make a travel page where I can blog about where I go, the people I meet and the food."

Samuel sweatdrops when he sees Ash's eyes sparkle thinking about food, "That sounds like fun Ash. I'm sure you will be able to do that if you work hard..... Blog? Ash?"

Ash nodded, "Yes Professor! Blog or make videos or posts online describing the food, places and people for others to use as a guide if they need one."

Samuel hmmmed, "That sounds like you want to be a guide Ash!"

Ash, "It's not the same though! Guides stay in one city but I won't. I'm going to travel. Of course I'll ask permission before posting about reserve areas or any important places first."

Samuel, "Well if you can get permission from the in charge of the areas before posting about it. I don't see the problem. Just run by what you want to post with me first to avoid trouble and clash with the law. Speaking of, you should probably go through the laws first."

Ash blinked, "I probably should. But where will I get books on law?"

Gary, "I'll study with you Ash! If I want to be a Master I need to learn the rules as well."

Samuel got up, "Well boys I do have a few books here, that explain the rules of the Kanto Indigo league. Why don't you start with that first? I'll see if I can get more later."

Before Ash could answer Red walked in and rushed to hug him, "Ash! There you are!"

Blue grabbed Gary and hugged him tight, "I was looking for you everywhere!"

Ash hugged Red back, "Sorry we got carried away talking to Professor Oak."

Gary's voice was muffled, "We were with gramps!"

Red, "Why didn't you tell us before running off?"

Ash looked down feeling guilty, "I didn't think we would take so long. I'm sorry for worrying you!"

Red shook his head, "You are okay so I forgive you! Just don't run off like that again okay? I was scared something happened!"

Gary felt a bit guilty too after hearing that, "I'm sorry! It was my idea to come here. We had a few questions."

Blue sighed rubbing Gary's head, "Like Red said, you are safe so I will let this go. Just don't leave without telling us again alright?"

Gary nodded, "Yes Blue!"

Ash snuggled in Red's arms, "I promise Red!"

Samuel was watching them smiling warmly, "Well how about you boys help me out in the lab, hmm? Since you are all here!"

Red perked up, "Sure Professor!"

Blue huffed, "Yeah why not!"

Ash nodded, "Sounds fun!"

Gary, "I'm in, what do we do?"

Samuel smiled, "Ash, Gary you can help me with some of the papers. Red, Blue the pokeballs on the third shelf from the back, could you grab them and return the Pokemon? It is getting late and don't worry, my assistants would have fed them all by now. You can even use this as practice for the future."

Red went to the back room that held the pokeballs, "Got it!"

Blue followed Red, "Sure gramps!"

Samuel turned to the two boys, "Come boys! I will give you the book that you can read together."

Ash and Gary smiled as they followed the oldest Oak to his library. The Professor took out a large thick book from the one of the shelves and turned giving the book to them wanting to laugh at their big eyes. Ash looked at the book being held our to them and he all of a sudden remembers a scene of a little girl reading books twice her size and calling it 'light' reading. He looked at Gary who looked back at him and shrugged before taking the book and moving back to the Professor's study where he could watch over them. The Professor sat down holding a few forms in his hand and looked at the two boys reading the book holding a dictionary. He chuckled softly at how enthusiastic the two were to learn about new things and decided to surprise them later.
