178 Jhoto - Azalea Town

Chikorita jumped as she attacked using razor leaf, "Chiko."

Parasect retaliated using fury cutter, "Sect para."

Ash, "Poison powder Chikorita."

Bugsy, "Ah! Back up and use aromatherapy to disperse the poison."

Ash watched as aromatherapy cancelled the poison, "Vine whip."

Chikorita's vine whip lashed out at a high speed thanks to the heavy duty training with Venasaur. The older grass type starter has insisted Chikorita focused on the speed of the attack first then focus on the strength. Most serious Pokemon battles are about hit and dodge in order to last longer and get a higher chance of winning. Chikorita had been a little sulky but understood that when she evolved her speed and strength would change drastically and if she didn't have a grasp now, she might end up hurting herself.

Bugsy, "Parasect, are you okay?"

Parasect shook himself, "Sect para par."

Bugsy, "Aromatherapy to heal followed by double team and aerial ace."

Ash, "Use synthesis to gather strength Chikorita and watch out for the aerial ace."

Parasect soon attacked and Chikorita held her ground before using vine whip to defend herself from the high speed attack. She could see why Venasaur insisted on focusing on her speed a lot, as a grass type, aerial attacks were definitely weaker but the speed more than made up for the power. Chikorita gritted her teeth as she continued using synthesis to gather her strength and vine whip to hold her opponent back.

Ash, "Now! Energy ball!"

Chikorita released an energy ball just as Parasect attacked her again. Bugsy called out at Parasect to dodge it but it was a little late as the energy ball hit his leg. Ash winced hearing Parasect's limb crack from the attack and Parasect fell to the battlefield unable to move. Chikorita paled but refused to back down from the field understanding that it was not over yet, not till one side called a forfeit.

Bugsy, "Parasect wait don't use aromatherapy. We need to place your limbs in order first."

Referee, "Parasect is unable to battle, Chikorita wins."

Ash, "Good job Chikorita. We need to practice on control but well done. Brock, could you please?"

Brock, "I'm on it. Here let me. I have been learning how to heal breaks and burns."

Bugsy, "Thank you. You'll be okay buddy."

Chikorita mumbled, "Chiko chikori."

Bugsy, "Don't apologize. You have a powerful attack. Be proud."

Parasect nodded, "Para."

Ash, "Do you want to watch the next battle or return to the pokeball and take a breather?"

Chikorita stood tall, "Chiko."

Casey, "Chikorita is doing really well."

Max, "Yeah, go Chikorita!"

Brock, "She has come a long way."

Gou, "I want to catch a Chikorita too. I hope we run into one while in Jhoto."

Casey, "I'm sure we will Gou."

Bugsy, "Now let's go Scyther."

Ash, "Your turn Gengar."

While Scyther appeared from the pokeball Gengar slowly came out to battle from Ash's shadow. The shy ghost had become very accustomed to travelling through shadows when the group was in town or around other humans. At first, he had thought Ash would be annoyed and order him not to hide inside his shadow anymore but Ash never said anything and instead allowed Phantump and Banette to join Gengar instead. Gengar flew around the field, giving Ash a quick hug before standing infront of Scyther ready to battle.

Referee, "Begin!"

Ash, "Dark pulse!"

Bugsy, "Agility."

Gengar created a dark ball in his hands and waited as Scyther zoomed around the field before the bug attacked. Gengar released the dark pulse just as Scyther attacked using X - scissors. The two power attacks clashed and interestingly enough were evenly matched in power and strength.

Gou, "Woah! That was intense."

Brock, "Very, they are evenly matched."

Casey, "Which just makes this more fun to watch."

Max, "So exciting."

Ash, "Sucker punch."

Bugsy, "Counter with double hit."

Gengar attacked using sucker punch which was countered with double hit, Scyther attacked once before turning around and hitting him again. Gengar hissed and backed up a bit before using the move scary face on Scyther who growled at Gengar. Gengar grinned at her remembering the little tid bit Ash had told him about that particular little move. The move slowed the opponent down by using the fear factor, that made them instinctively freeze.

Ash, "Focus punch."

Bugsy, "Scyther use brick break."

Gengar hit Scyther with focus punch, thanks to scary face, Scyther's speed was a little slower but he hit Gengar with brick break making him fall. The two Pokemon fell to the battle ground and it was quiet as they waited for the Pokemon to get up.

Referee, "The two Pokemon are unable to battle. As the challenger has one Pokemon standing, Ash is the winner of the Hive badge."

Ash gave a sigh before checking on Gengar, "Are you okay, buddy?"

Gengar shook his head and gave a thumbs up before whimpering and holding his head again, "Geng gengar."

Ash, "Yeah, that was one hell of a strong move."

Chikorita nudged him and pulled Gengar along with her, "Chiko chikorita."

Ash pat her head, "You want to take care of Gengar? Sure why not."

Gengar, "Gengar geng."

Chikorita puffed up and preened, "Chiko."

Casey squealed inside, 'How adorable!'

Bugsy grinned, "Already learning how to care for others I see."

Ash chuckled, "It's an advantage when you are out in the wild and there aren't many Pokemon centres around."

Bugsy, "Ash let me present to you the Hive badge. Congratulations! You won!"

Ash, "Thank you! Now that, that is out of the way I challenge you to a three on three no bars hold Ace battle!"

Bugsy smirked, "I accept!"

Referee, "The battle for the badge is over, now we will have a battle of high level Pokemon. The winner will be decided by the last Pokemon standing. Choose your first Pokemon."

Ash, "Let's go Butterfree!"

Bugsy, "Let's do this Yanmega!"

Referee, "Begin!"

Ash, "Gust!"

Bugsy, "Double team!"

Yanmega used double team as Butterfree attacked using gust. The gust kicked up dust that covered the field and Butterfree narrowed his eyes. Before anyone said anything Butterfree used double team and attacked Yanmega. Yanmega huffed as he attacked Butterfree as well going through a few mirages before body slamming against the real one. The two bug Pokemon growled at each other before separating and attacking using wing attack and quick attack.

Max, "Who is using which attack?"

Casey, "Umm, I can't tell at the moment."

Gou, "They are really going at it."

Brock, "This is to be expected."

Absol, "Absol sol."

Abra, -So fast.-

Eevee, "Vui."

Lucario, -With training you can do it too.-

Pikachu cheered, "Pikapi!"

Ash, "Whirlwind!"

Bugsy, "Endure!"

Butterfree used whirlwind but Yanmega stood his ground and endured the strong winds before flying up to attack. Butterfree tched in annoyance as he dodged the attacks that were coming towards him then attacked using psybeam. Butterfree and Yanmega went at each other again at high speed.

Ash frowned, 'Butterfree is holding up well but we need to end this soon.'

Butterfree, "Reee!"

Ash, "Giga drain!"

Bugsy, "Dammit! Use roost to gather energy."

Butterfree started to drain the energy from his opponent as Yanmega used roost to catch up with the drain. It was hard to say who would win at this point as both Pokemon were holding their own. Soon both Pokemon stopped using their moves and started to power up to unleash their strongest attacks on each other.

Ash, "Now use solar beam."

Bugsy, "Hyper beam."

The two attacks clashed and compressed first before blowing up between Butterfree and Yanmega. The two Pokemon went down thanks to the heavy power coming out of the clashing attacks.

Referee, "Butterfree and Yanmega are unable to battle. This battle is a draw."

Ash, "Butterfree return. Get some rest."

Bugsy, "Return Yanmega, good job."

Ash, "Your turn Beedrill!"

Bugsy, "Let's go Kleavor."

Referee, "Begin!"

Ash, "Agility!"

Bugsy, "Quick attack!"

The two bug Pokemon attacked using the speed based moves and everyone could hear the clang of the needles and axe colliding against each other. Beedrill flew around the female and attacked only to be intercepted by the axe and pushed back. Beedrill hummed as she flew around and started using double team before attacking again. She made three of the doubles attack first forcing Kleavor to defend against them before attacking her where she was left open.

Bugsy, "Kleavor! Are you okay?"

Kleavor hissed as she got up from where she had fallen and held her side, the needle was blunted before attacking and did not pierce through. But it hurt like a bitch and Kleavor realized, it was poison, probably paralysis poison, to make her stop moving. Beedrill buzzed above her before attacking again but this time Kleavor was ready and used stone edge as a shield. Beedrill used agility to get behind Kleavor but Kleavor was using her axe to defend herself from behind.

Ash, 'Clever indeed.'

Beedrill huffed, "Bz!"

Bugsy, "We are not going down that easily. Let me introduce to my Kleavor, she is actually the first Scyther I received. Her evolving into Kleavor was a stroke of luck."

Ash, "Sounds like an interesting story."

Bugsy, "It was an accident but a very welcome one, took time to figure stuff out but we managed."

Ash, "I can see that, use assurance followed by venoshock."

Bugsy, "Bring it on! Close combat!"

Beedrill used assurance just as Kleavor attacked using close combat, despite the poisoning Kleavor moved on sheer stubborn will alone. Beedrill returned the attack using sword dance and matched the attacks while narrowing her eyes at her opponent. The stripped Pokemon realized if Kleavor attacked while she was not poisoned, there was a higher chance she would have won. This was unacceptable, Beedrill made a promise to self to increase her strength before attacking her opponent with venoshock.

Referee, "Kleavor is unable to battle, Beedrill wins the match. Choose your next Pokemon."

Bugsy, "Return Kleavor, thank you."

Ash, "Beedrill are you good to continue?"

Beedrill raised one of her needles but flinched, "Bzzzz!"

Ash, "Yeah, you need rest and medical. It's okay, return and rest. You won, love! So return and rest okay."

Beedrill who was about to protest stopped and nodded, it would be unfair towards her sister if she continued to battle, "Bzzzz!"

Ash, "Return baby girl, rest up! Now let's go Kingler."

Bugsy, "I choose Araquanid."

Referee, "Begin!"

Ash, "Razor shell!"

Bugsy, "Aqua ring."

The two attacks were dodged by both water types before they started to move around and attack each other. It was a bit comical to watch both Pokemon rush around the battlefield attacking and dodging each other not backing down. Max giggled from where he was watching before gasping in awe at the power behind the attacks that were parried between them. Misty was gushing through the screen, happy to see Kingler in action again, before squealing over how cool Araquanid looked. Melody was snickering by her side while Serena and Chloe were debating over which Pokemon would win.

Ash, "Water pulse!"

Bugsy, "Hydro pump!"

Kingler used water pulse just as Araquanid shot hydro pump at him. The water pulse and hydro pump clashed and blew up causing the water to go up before coming down as rain on all of them.

Ash, "Sword dance and crab hammer!"

Bugsy, "Power split! Be careful!"

Kingler used sword dance just as Araquanid used power split to decrease the power increased by the sword dance. Kingler however did not back down however and attacked using crab hammer on Araquanid who dodged. Kingler then switched to sword dance and attacked the bug slash water type Pokemon but Araquanid used reflect to protect herself. Kingler narrowed his eyes and before anyone realised attacked using water pulse shattering the shield and hitting the bug.

Bugsy, "Araquanid! Are you okay?"

Araquanid hissed as she got up, "Quaaa!"

Ash, "Rock tomb!"

Bugsy, "Wide guard!"

Araquanid despite being hit by a powerful water type attack still raised a strong guard around herself while Kingler attacked. The crab Pokemon narrowed his eyes before changing his target and attacked from below Araquanid. The spider Pokemon growled as she moved away from the targeted area but Kingler did not slow down and attacked the water Pokemon. Araquanid not wanting to back down attacked using water pulse just as Kingler attacked using crab hammer. The two Pokemon hit each other and after a while fell to the ground from the attacks.

Referee, "Both Pokemon are unable to battle, as the challenger still has one Pokemon standing, he won this challenge."

Ash, "Return Kingler, thank you buddy."

Bugsy, "Return Araquanid, thank you. Well done Ash! That was awesome we should battle again."

Ash shook his hand, "Totally!"
