Chapter 16

I really need to find a way in knowing if Liz is a spy from the clan to keep watch of me. The question is how do I do it? I can't just possibly go to her face, and ask 'hey Liz, are you tasked in spying on me, and then reporting to the clan?' that would be awkward. Also, Liz won't confess honestly if I do that.

I feel restricted with Liz's presence, and I want to just dispose of her existence but I can't do that or the clan will know I did it. I can't say that Liz died in an accident, or something since the clan will be suspicious, and most likely they'll conduct an investigation.

I can get Liz's loyalty if I threathen her with something but what can it be. Her pidgey? No, she might not be that attached to it yet since she only recently got it. Does she have any weakness to exploit? I have to learn more about her, or else I won't be able to do anything.

Let's see if there is anything in the pewter city for me to use. Maybe there are information dealers in the city but won't that cause too much money. Will I have enough money? This plan won't work, and will only work if I'm rich.

I need to think of a different plan.

"Master, we're almost at the entrance of pewter city." Liz said suddenly interrupting my thoughts, and made me startled a bit.

"Alright. Thank you for informing me." I replied, and I can see the three pokemon with Liz having an excited expression. I also have one since it's going to be a first time for all of us to visit a city. Well, my first time in this life at least.

We arrived at the entrance, and soon a woman with cerulean colored hair stopped us.

"Hello, I'm called police officer jenny. I'm here to check your IDs, and then you can go once I'm done checking for your information." I handed my ID card along with Liz's.

After a few minutes, the process was done, and she let us in the city. The city didn't have anything much to offer other than some inns, restaurants, a school, a pokemon center, a police center, a pokemon gym, a poke mart, and lastly a museum.

Apparently, the museum here shows some pokemon fossils like in the game, and they also have some paintings, and sculptures about the famous people who gave big contributions in the war.

I'll have to go there when we have the time. I'll first rest in an inn that Liz recommended.

"Let's go to the inn you're talking about, Liz." I said, and Liz's guided us to the place.

While walking in the streets, I can see many fighting type pokemon walking around with other humans. Most of them are mankeys and machops. Some of the machops are even helping the humans build some buildings.

"Hey, mom! Why is that boy wearing a weird attire?" I heard a kid said while pointing at me.

"Don't point on other people, darling. He might be playing dress up so don't mind it too much." The mother answered.

The hell is wrong with them, and I ain't playing a dress up game. I'm doing this to hide my identity. I look cool on it, and not stupid wearing it-

"It looks stupid, mom! Can you buy me a costume but not like that stupid looking, mom?" The kid said, and I really wanna punch the brat's face. Didn't the mother teach her kid to know about manners! Screw them, and their judgemental minds.

I walked faster since I might accidentally hurt the kid and the woman. These civilians don't go to war, and they do these kinds of things to me who's going to war at the age of 11!? How thicker can their faces be!

Liz must have noticed my expression since she walked faster too, and soon arrived to the inn she was talking about. It was a three story inn, and a single stay with meals will cost only 100 kanto dollars. I paid for a 1 night stay for 2 people.

We were given two rooms, and this made me glad since I don't want to sleep with Liz in a single room.

Liz's Point of View

Master seems to be suspicious and distrustful of me. I don't know what I did to make him feel that, and I can only hope that I can get his trust soon.

I was assigned by elder Moi with this tasked, and she only did this because she wanted to let me serve my own master, and that my stay with her will have to come to an end. She also believes that this is a master that I can trust and rely on.

In the past, I was about to be assigned to a core member of the clan which is famous of raping and killing it's maids but the clan didn't mind his actions since he gave great contributions, and has a high rank. Thankfully, I caught the attention of a nice elder which is elder Moi.

I know that our clan is full of people who has stained hands but I still hoped every single day to find some kind people in the clan. And I did, I met up with elder Moi and she took me in.

The old man that wanted to take me as a maid stopped in wanting to get me when he found out that elder Moi wanted me. I didn't even know what that old man saw in me since I'm only a normal looking girl.

At that time, I was asking myself, why did Elder Moi took me in? She soon explained to me that she saw a potential in my eyes, and that's the reason she took me in. And that was true since everything that elder Moi taught me, I'll learn it fast and easy.

I then served as elder Moi's granddaughter's maid for about 3 months, and she was a kind person. She even let me learn many things that we maids are normally not privileged to have. I became very attached to them but my stay with them didn't last long.

Last 2 weeks ago, elder Moi called me, and she tasked me to join the journey of someone named Rem. Elder Moi explained to me this person's personality, general information, and so on. At that time, I was shocked when I found out that master Rem was an advance member of the clan with just an early age of 4. It's amazing because only a few people in the clan's history was able to do that. This made me decide that I'll serve master with my full loyalty, and with my greatest capability.

I'll do everything to get master Rem's approval in being his personal maid before this journey ends. Sadly, things seem to be going in the wrong direction even though I'm doing my best in serving master.

I can only pray that master will start to open up to me, and tell me face to face what's the problem so that I can fix it.
