38 Chapter 37
Upon appearing in my apartment I felt a lot of the tension melt away, the stress of the day and what it entailed kept me alert and ready for an extended period of time. As I collapsed onto my couch, exhaustion washing over me like a tidal wave, I couldn't shake off the weight of the day's revelations. The knowledge of government involvement in criminal activities had shaken me to my core, eroding the foundation of trust I once held in authority. I knew that the battle was far from over, and that more challenges lay ahead as we delved deeper into the labyrinth of corruption and deceit.
Abra sensed my unease and nuzzled against my leg " are you alright trainer Samuel?",
"Yeah, i think i will be, today just brought so much more than i was anticipating, i mean it was so simple when we were just against various gangs and criminals, now though…".
I didn't know what to think, potentially the results of the next little while and our operations would determine just how much faith i had in the government and SHIELD.
I didn't want to think about the possibility that the corruption was so widespread that it burrowed into every facet of the system.
But with what i knew about SHIELD and how "compromised" it was, then i may be getting my hopes up for nothing.
Taking a deep breath I turned to my team which had come out upon our return I looked them over, seeing visible signs that they had all developed over the past few days. Coming to a realisation I remembered i hadn't checked on their/ my status in awhile.
Mentally triggering it I was assaulted by a plethora of dings and information hitting me like a freight train.

Just wow, across the board there have been some amazing results, i do feel like a let the team down a bit due to not realising that they had been learning some new moves and advancing the current ones beyond what i had previously noticed.
Even though i have been distracted with our current operation I have a duty to my team to watch over their training and support them as much as possible.
But now that I had taken a moment to review their progress, I was impressed by how far they had come. Cinder's moves had advanced significantly, showing a level of dedication and training that made me proud. Gastly, too, had honed his techniques, proving his determination in every battle we faced. And Abra, always the attentive one, had improved her Psychic abilities to an intermediate level, showcasing her potential for even greater growth.
As I sat there contemplating our next move, a sudden urgency washed over me. The events of the day had shown me just how precarious our situation was, and I knew we needed to be prepared for whatever came our way. With a newfound determination, I turned to my team and spoke solemnly, "We have a long path ahead of us. Let's focus on our training and be ready for whatever challenges tomorrow may bring."
Looking over my status in a bit more detail I finally realised that my list of Pokemon seemed a bit off, I have 3 of them but for some reason there is a 4 in brackets. Racking my brain i tried to think of what it could be, I haven't used any of my draws yet so it can't be that unless….. thinking of the egg I got in one of my previous draws, my heart started racing. What could it possibly be, the egg didn't have any markings I recognised even though i never really got into breeding my mons.
My hands trembled as I reached into the depths of my storage, pulling out the small, smooth egg that held a precious life inside. As it sat in my palms, a bright light enveloped the room and filled me with warmth and anticipation. I heard faint cracking noises and could feel something stirring within the shell, determined to break free. The sound grew louder and more urgent until finally, with one final resounding crack, the shell split open to reveal a tiny adorable creature. Its cries echoed through the room as the light faded away, leaving behind a tiny Pokémon with soft fur and curious eyes staring up at me in wonder. My heart swelled with love and awe at this new addition to our family.
