Ye Xia's Side Of The Story And Unstable Qi

(Ye Xia's POV)

Scarlet Flame Sect, Outer Sect. A girl was walking around the place, her destination unknown. She had tidy black hair, a oval face and round black eyes. She wore white clothes, the same ones the servants of this sect wears.

'It's already time to clean Mistress Blake's cavern again.' Ye Xia had a small smile. Servants were responsible for cleaning up the disciples caverns when they go out, and Ye Xia has been cleaning up Blake's place every single day for the past week.

Her peers were somewhat confused at her behavior, disciples rarely dirtied their cave too much unless they go in secluded cultivation, so cleaning two times or even a single time a week was normally enough. Yet, Ye Xia was acting like a personal maid, going there daily.

Ye Xia was also washing Blake's clothes, making food for her and switching the bathwater everyday. This sect's servants didn't do everything by themselves, each person did a different task. One servant washed the clothes, another cleaned the cave and another one made the food.

This sect wasn't small, there were hundreds of disciples and you needed at least 3 or 4 servants per cave sharing tasks, there were more than a thousand servants living here, and this was just the outer sect. This place could easily be considered a small city by ancient times standards.

This was also the main reason why the sect didn't care about servants that much, they had so many of them, together with the fact that their labor was insanely cheap to a cultivator.

A single Spirit Stone was more than enough to hire ten servants for a month or more. And this was because this sect's servants were highly paid, if the sect wanted to save money no matter what, maybe even thirty a month was possible.

Ye Xia watched as the servants of the sect busily moved around, and remembered the day when she first met Blake. She had simply showed the place around, something insignificant, yet she had been gifted with a Spirit Stone. Ye Xia was stunned with Blake's kindness at the time.

The concept of tips doesn't exist here, something like giving a gift for a servant for simply doing her or his job is something completely foreign. The only ones who get stuff like this were these servants immensely good at boot licking or those who seduced others with their body.

'Maybe cultivators aren't all bad people after all...' Ye Xia has been working here since she was twelve, and this is the first time she ever thought like this. She was actually looking forward to doing her job. Unfortunately, she was walking absentmindedly while thinking about all this and didn't notice the person ahead.

"Ouch!" Ye Xia felt she bumped into someone, and just when she was going to subconsciously apologize for it, she noticed the party's cold gaze and trembled a little.

*PAH*

Before she could even do anything, she felt an impact hitting her right cheek, and she fell down to the ground. She could feel a stinging pain that nearly made her tear up coming from her cheek, and her face had a clearly visible red slap mark on it.

"A servant dares to bump into me?! Did my reputation fall to the point of even a mere servant daring to mock me now?!!" He shouted as he gazed her with disdain. Ye Xia years of experiencing abuse like this made her body almost automatically kowtow.

"I am deeply sorry master! This was completely accidental, I swear this won't happen ever again!" Ye Xia tried her best to appease his rage, but he didn't seem to care.

"Shut up!!" The disciple lifted his foot and was about to kick her. Ye Xia closed her eyes and was waiting for the incoming pain, when she heard a familiar voice.

"STOOP!!" It was Mistress Blake's voice. She was at first relieved to hear this voice, but then she got worried. This will get Mistress Blake in trouble. She didn't want her to trouble herself just because of a mere servant like her.

"Hm?"

"Leave her alone!! Why are you even doing this?"

'Please no! Let me get punished!' Ye Xia's inferiority complex from getting raised as a servant was acting up, and she would rather get punished instead of letting a kind master like Blake get in a fight just because of someone like herself.

Even then, she didn't find in herself the strength to stand up and speak it out. It was almost like deep down, there was still a part of her who wanted to be saved. She was feeling a mix of worry, fear and shame.

"Are you acquainted with this servant, woman? Doesn't matter, I won't just let this slide without compensation." She started to feel a invisible pressure from the disciple, and her trembling got worse. Blake and the disciple were intensely staring at each other, and she got even more worried.

"A conflict will be bad for both of us here. Hey servant, stand up.". Ye Xia obediently stood up. Obedience was deeply rooted into her after all these years. She could more or less guess what the disciple was going to do and she was somewhat fearful of it, but she felt like this was the best way to end it quickly.

*PAH*

Ye Xia felt the strong impact in her left cheek, and her face contorted in pain. Even then, she was relieved, this was going to finally end.

"With this the matter will be settled, don't let you dog wander next ti- UGHHHHH!" Ye Xia eyes suddenly widened and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Mistress Blake actually punched him! She was completely shocked.

"HOW DARE YOU HIT ME!! I WILL BEAT YOU TO DEATH!!" Ye Xia looked at Blake putting her hands at her sheath to draw her sword and the disciple getting ready in a stance.

'NOO!!'

This was the first time Ye Xia had this feeling. Never in her life had someone risked so much to help her. What she was feeling wasn't gratitude, but rather, terror: Terror of that person getting harmed. She powerlessly looked at them, unable to stop their fight.

Thankfully, someone who she thought was Mistress Blake's friend came and stopped the fight from happening. She could feel immense relief wash over her body as the disciple went away. Tears that she was holding until now uncontrollably flowed out of her eyes.

Suddenly, she felt the warmth of someone's body, and she noticed Mistress Blake had hugged her.

"Calm down Ye Xia. Here, drink this." Mistress Blake gave her a flask filled with a unknown liquid, but Ye Xia unhesitatingly drank it.

She felt all the pain from her face fading away like a miracle, and she was stunned for a while. Then, realization dawned upon her that Blake gave her some kind of medicine and she cried a little bit louder, her hug getting a little tighter...

Blake's POV(That was a long POV, I know.)

Blake sighed as she looked at crying Ye Xia in her arms. The sight of her crying like a pitiful small animal made people want to hug her tight. Little Xun had a small smile at the side as he shook his head.

"Sorry Little Xun, I got carried away too much over there and caused all this mess. I don't know what happened with me.." After comforting Ye Xia, talked to Little Xun with a embarrassed expression.

What she did earlier could've gotten everyone she knows in the sect in trouble, Ye Xia could have gotten a punishment, she herself could have been punished, and the matter of Fang and Little Xun giving her the cultivation technique had a chance of coming to light.

Little Xun shook his head.

"No need to apologize Sister Blake, Senior Fang will definitely not mind this. You were defending a friend after all." Blake smiled.

"Will the Elders punish us? I punched the guy and all."

"I don't think they will care. Cultivators are prideful people, so there are conflicts daily. I'm sure a Elder or two noticed the fight. If you actually had drawn your sword, a Elder would've definitely stopped you both." Little Xun explained that as long as the conflict doesn't get serious, the Elders won't mind two people trying to intimidate each other.

There was also the fact that the Elders didn't see Blake punching the guy, they most probably only felt their Qi flaring up. Now if they had detected killing intent, they would've definitely stopped the fight and punished both. Little Xun had thankfully arrived at the right time.

"Also, Sister Blake, you getting impulsive like that was probably because of unstable Qi."

"Unstable Qi?"

"Yeah, it happens when you advance stages in a very fast pace."

Little Xun then explained about the matter. Cultivation gets the Qi from the surroundings absorbed into your body, and the Qi has a unyielding nature.

If someone advances in stages too fast because of whatever reason(normally pills), and do not take their time to "digest" the Qi, it will affect their body and mind based on their Qi Nature. Fire Qi made people easily irritable and impulsive, besides intensifying rage.

People with no Qi Natures do not have this problem, and those with more than one Qi Nature could very well end up with mental disorders. The bigger the affinity someone has with a element, the bigger the effect it will have on them.

"How do I "digest" the Qi then?" Blake was alarmed. She obviously noticed her affinity with fire was bigger than average, so the influence should be stronger on her.

"Your body should naturally digest it as long as you don't suddenly advance another stage again. Sister Blake most probably took pills right? So just wait a week or two. Now, if you want to shorten the time, I hear meditating works too."

Blake and Little Xun chatted for a little while more, and they were finally going to part ways. But just after saying goodbye Blake suddenly got curious about something.

"Little Xun, did Fang give me the technique because he was under the influence of unstable Qi?"

"How much I wish he was like that because of unstable Qi." Little Xun shook his head and smiled wryly.

"When he was in that state, I couldn't even let him leave the house afraid he would challenge the patriarch to a duel."

I think I got a little bit carried away writing Ye Xia's POV.
