8 To Kick Off With A Bang

Before this chapter begins, as you all know, this book has anything but a stable update schedule. Unfortunately, this is how it's going to be for probably a long while as I am now currently in an examination block for school. Alongside that, I need to focus on other things in my life. Though, I will try to update whenever I can.

Cayde could currently be seen standing inside of what appeared to be a soundproof room, his hands currently adjusting his headphones as a microphone stand was set up in front of him. He looked to be bobbing his head a bit to some tunes.

Looking into the room from the glass was Palermo, along with some staff members, and also both Plusle and Minun. Palermo was speaking with the person manning the control panel, making sure that everything was going to be properly set up.

The reason for this current situation was because they were going to be recording the song for a promotional video, this being a suggestion from Palermo as promotional videos are usually what helped really kick off some celebrities that would gradually gain popularity over time.

Cayde's performance at the showcase was already going viral and he had gained a great reputation already, but having a promotional video done wouldn't hurt at all. It would help him get his name known even more, mainly to those who can't access the web and may be able to see things like the TV and such.

The promotional video they were going to be doing was to be submitted into something called PokeVision, which Cayde was explained was some kind of platform for promotional videos that allow trainers to express their bond alongside their pokemon.

Palermo suggested Cayde create one with both Plusle and Minun, which he did very well agree to, it sounded interesting. They were going to be recording the visuals later, along with creating voiceovers. Though, it would mainly be the song he was going to sing being played throughout the video.

Speaking of which, he had decided on a song that would help build the bond between him and the two electric types. One that would have quite the impact on the audience, that was the key to having a successful video. Something that really stands out, something that really stays and lingers in the mind.

He was pretty sure he had quite the fitting song for this. The song that he had chosen to sing for this promotional video was a song that held a number of meanings depending on how people interpreted it. But, to him, it was a song that talked about chasing one's dreams.

By singing a song like this, he not only hoped to catch the attention of people but also to inspire others to chase after their dreams. To him, all the songs he sings need to have some kind of purpose and reason behind them, otherwise they're just empty words.

"Alright, everything is ready. Are you prepared, Cayde?" Palermo's voice resonated through the room as she spoke into the microphone. Both Plusle and Minun's cheers could be heard through the microphone as well as they stared at Cayde through the glass.

Cayde gave a small smile as he cracked his neck, to which he then opened his eyes and gave them all a thumbs up. He was honestly curious to find out how well people of another world would react to his songs, and they seemed very well received so far from the few songs he had performed. Hopefully, it will be the same with this video.

"Very well, go for it whenever you want, Mr. Asahito!" The staff member manning the control panel voiced as Cayde nodded his head. Pressing the button on the side of his headphones, the music soon started playing into his ears, along with within the control panel room.

He had connected his headphones to their network so that they could listen to the tune as he sang, this way they could hear what the song would hopefully sound like when it is finished and all that. If there is anything that needs changing, they could tell him.

On the very first few words, his voice once again had entranced all those that could hear him as beautiful calm sparks seemed to miraculously shine around him as he sang. It was an unknown phenomenon, something about how music can have a lasting effect on the world around people.

Both Minun and Plusle quickly formed pom-poms onto their hands out of their electricity as they began dancing while cheering for him, Palermo and the staff just watching with awe as Cayde continued to sing. Palermo was glad this entire recording room was sound-proof, otherwise they'd have a massive audience of performers.

Palermo, being someone who had been in the business for quite a long time now, could tell that this promotional video was going to do wonders. Probably even more so than she first anticipated, and that was certainly saying something.

After having all of the music recorded, Palermo had quickly guided Cayde and the two electric types to the car so they could arrive at the location for them to record the visuals of the video. The location was a vast grassy plain with all kinds of terrain around, such as mountains, forests, and even a lake.

While Cayde honestly would have preferred to record a video within the city, specifically at night time, instead of in the wild. For the particular song that he sang, he just felt he could have done something similar to the original video he had made in his old world. Though, it wasn't that big of a deal.

Anyway, the scenes took around five whole hours to record as Palermo was someone who wanted all of it to be absolutely perfect. They had to retake a number of the scenes due to some minor errors that they noticed, and also some disturbances in the background as they were recording.

The scenes really captured Cayde, Plusle, and Minun's images well as the setting sun in the back also really helped with the theme of the song he sang. Obviously, one of the scenes had to show all three of them running towards the sun that was setting in the horizon.

One of the scenes was also of a small display of them battling against wild pokemon, this was a simple scene to show the bond between him and the two electric types aside from just playing and relaxing together. It wasn't too difficult for Cayde to get used to battling as he had watched the anime a bit, though it wasn't much, he did have the basics down at least.

He had a career he had to focus on after all, he didn't have time to watch many things.

Anyway, after all of the recordings were done, Palermo immediately instructed the team to commence with the editing of the video. It was clear that she wanted to get the video out there to the world as fast as possible, it would be clear to anyone she was excited about it.

As the editing was being done though, Palermo along with the trio were all in a private eating area for their dinner. After all of the hard work everyone put in, they all deserved a well-deserved dinner and rest. Though, the staff working on editing the video would have to wait a bit due to them needing to finish all that editing...

"By the way, Cayde. You already know about the arrangements for us to arrive in Lakasi Town for the next Pokemon Showcase, but that won't be for another four days from now." Palermo voiced suddenly as Cayde looked up after taking a sip from his drink. "I was wondering if you could help me with something."

"Sure, though that'll entirely depend on what it is."

"I was wondering if you could help in training some of the performers here in their dancing. Most of the instructors are out right now, so we are a bit shorthanded." Palermo had explained as Cayde crossed his arms and listened. "There will also be a few coordinators who'll need some help as well since they wanted to also implement dancing into their performances."

"I see, training up rookies, huh?" Cayde muttered as he closed his eyes. Plusle and Minun looked at their new trainer while chewing their food, anticipation seemingly in their eyes. They wouldn't mind being a part of those lessons either, they loved Cayde's dancing. "Why not? At least I'll have something else to do while we wait."

"Brilliant! I'm counting on you, Cayde." Palermo smiled and nodded with satisfaction at the male's response. It was obvious that she was hoping for him to agree. With someone of Cayde's caliber helping in teaching the company's potential performers and coordinators, their abilities would most likely improve at incredible levels. "Also, there is someone who really wants to talk to you."

"Talk to me? Who?"

"She's one of the performers that I mentored a while ago. In fact, she's the current Kalos Queen."

"Wow, that's impressive." Cayde stated honestly and nodded as he heard this. From what he had learnt from Palermo, Kalos Queen was a title given to the top greatest performer here in Kalos who had managed to win the Master Class Showcase. He found out that Palermo was a previous one, though he didn't know who the current one was.

"Her name is Aria, and she is without a doubt my greatest mentee I have ever had." Cayde gave an amused 'hm; at that as he knew that Palermo was pretty strict when it came to performers and the like. This Aria person must have had quite the impression on the woman. "After seeing the video of your performance at the previous showcase, she really wanted to speak with you."

"I mean, sure. I'm interested in speaking with the person who managed to get the attention of someone like you." Cayde chuckled after saying this. Palermo also gave a small laugh at that as well, even she knew how strict she could be when it came to finding talented potential candidates.

"Unfortunately, she is quite busy at the moment. You'll meet her eventually though, that I have no doubt in my mind."

"Ah, that's too bad. Being Kalos Queen and all must be quite the career, no doubt full of work." Cayde smiled sympathetically with closed eyes. His career as an idol was both fun yet extremely stressful and tiring. As much as he loved his line of work, it can get too much at times. There was just so much he needed to do and attend to.

Writing up and singing new songs.

Fan meetings.

Traveling on tours across multiple countries.

Performing at his concerts, and even visiting other celebrity concerts.

And more as well on top of all that.
