Episode 55: Drill & Drill

Giovanni: Nidoking, Earthquake, Nidoqueen, Thunder.

Wart and Ivy are struck by the attacks and knocked out, leaving it to a two on two battle.

Leon: Otto, throw me with Fly.

Otto: Got it.

Otto creates the bubble of air and Giovanni tries to stop it with Thunder but Otto sends Leon flying before getting hit herself. Leon uses the speed from the attack and his own Flamethrower spiraling around his body to use a move he had never used before.

Leon: Flare Blitz!

Though he hit Nidoqueen with it and dealt major damage to it, the lack of experience caused and intense amount of recoil damage to Leon.

Giovanni: You shouldn't be using a move with such a huge risk without the proper training. Nidoking, Thrash.

Leon is pushed out the way by Otto's Whirlwind as she takes the Thrash upon herself. She manages to take it well and retaliates with Air Slash. She coats her wings with Air Slash like she did the last time she fought a Nidoking and uses Air Slash: Wing Blade to try and strike down Nidoking but is hit with a Thunder from Nidoqueen.

Giovanni: Two on one now.

Leon imitates what Otto did but instead coats his wings with Flamethrower and charges towards Nidoqueen.

Leon: Flamethrower: Wing Blade!

With that, Nidoqueen is knocked out.

Leon: Nah, it's a one on one fight now.

Leon floats up into the air and draws energy from the deepest depth of his body. He draws a daikanmuri in the air before releasing the fire within.

Leon: Fire Blast!

Giovanni returns the attack with a technique stronger than anything he's ever used before.

Giovanni: Nidoking, use Earthquake: Super Sonic Tremors.

The technique is effectively a long-range version of Earthquake which is not only stronger but even able to hit flying opponents. The attacks clash as Nidoking and Leon struggle against each other. Leon amplifies the attack to the point where the flames begin to burn blue and knocks out the Drill Pokémon. Due to the sheer effort Leon put into Fire Blast, he struggles to move at all.

Giovanni: ...

Giovanni then begins walking towards Leon but instead of getting rid of the boy he uses a full restore on him.

Leon: What? Why heal me?

Giovanni: I have enough self respect then to attack a man on the ground after already losing. Listen kid, I realized something battling against you and your friends. There are people out there with talent far greater than anything I can imagine. If I'm not powerful enough to beat a couple of newbie Pokémen, then I'm not powerful enough to take over the region. That's why I'm disbanding Team Rocket. But one day, some day in the far future, I will return as the leader of Team Rocket.

Leon: And we'll be here to dismantle the team again. Only next time we'll be the champions of the region.

Giovanni: We'll see. Here, congratulations on receiving your final badge, the Earth Badge of Viridian City.
