Training

You take some time to practice with the energy inside of you, namely the energy from Eris that's been sitting in you for a while. Pushing it towards your psychic abilities, you feel like you can improve on your standard attack. Adjusting the power, lowering the frequency, but mixing in things you've learned from practicing Thunder Wave.

The results are... Well, if it works how you imagine it, it kind of works like a Force Push. Kind of. Actually getting enough power behind it to knock heavy objects over is beyond you at the moment. What you can do, however, is cheat! Make a cone of disruptive psionic energy that messes with a person's ability to control their limbs.

At the very least they should stumble as if someone inverted their mental controls for a moment. At most... A direct blast should send someone rag-dolling rather hilariously. And painfully.

Satisfied with your results, you turn your attention to the rest of the power... Which is currently finishing pooling inside of you, giving you a sort of bloated feeling.

Alright, so taking that energy and pushing it towards Grass is the idea. But you want to do something specific and complex this time. A status inflicting move, like Thunder Wave, but not quite like that. Instead, you want to learn sleep powder.

So... How do you learn sleep powder? Well, how did you learn Thunder Wave? It sort of just came to you. You knew generally what you wanted to do, inducing a generalized paralysis and numbness, and the power just sort of clicked into place with some practice.

With sleep powder, you know what you want to do... You want to create a dust of some kind, short lived and wide area, which produces an inhaled anesthetic. Something to induce a loss of consciousness, preferably with short term effects beyond a brief period of sleep.

The only anesthetic you've ever experienced was laughing gas, NO2, which- Oh... Ohoho, you can work with that. A chemical made entirely out of pure grass energy, with a short lifespan that binds nitrogen and oxygen into NO2 in proximity... If you throw a cloud of it, the air will rapidly fill with the gas. If someone inhales it, they'll get a much stronger dose.

This... This is going to be great.

"How was your night?" Prue asks, giving you a teasing grin as she brings her own plate of breakfast over to settle in at your table. Mindy totters along behind her, balancing a plate that looks like it's going to spill over. "We didn't get in until late, but you turned in early right?"

"Yeah, wanted to get some rest." You nod, taking a drink of some fruit juice. "Been a long few days on the road. Is Eris..."

"She's around still, yeah. Saw her on my way down from the room." Prue nods. "So what are your plans for today? Another date?"

"Mhmm." You nod, thinking it over.

Well, the only really time sensitive thing is seeing to Eris, considering she may not stick around. It's doubtful, but you don't want to take things for granted. Finishing your meal, you wish your girls a fun day, pausing to kiss Tracy on the cheek as she comes down from the room.

"What." You soon stand in the doorway of her room, feeling rather amused as Eris glares up at you. "I'm not inviting you in."

"Good, because I'm inviting you out." You retort, stepping back and gesturing to the hall. "Come on, I want to see some of the town, and you're going to escort me."

"Why?" She huffs. "Haven't you got a half dozen other girls to do that?"

"Three, yes, but-"

"And whoever else you bat your eyelashes at." Eris presses. "Don't pretend you don't know. You could get anyone around here to chase after you if you wanted."

"Any of them?" You smile sweetly.

"Any of them." She deadpans.

"Good. Follow me." You tease, turning and leading the way. It doesn't take long before she's falling into step beside you. "Any thoughts on where to go first?"

"How should I know?" Hmm... Is it you, or does Eris seem upset today? "I'm new here too, you know."

"Right... You grew up in..."

"Aurum town." Eris sighs. "A total dust bowl. And it's not like I 'grew up' there. I came out of the mist near Obsidian town, and the gang picked me up. Took me down to Aurum, where 'business' was better."

"They really didn't treat you well, huh?" You mutter softly.

"Understatement." She huffs. "I was their serving girl. Their slave."

"Was, being the key word. You're your own girl now." You encourage her softly.

"Oh? My own girl... Not yours?" There's a bit of an odd expression on her face at that statement. "Well come on, if we're exploring, you're going to buy me some souvenirs."

"Well... You've got a bright future going forward." You promise her as you step out into the fog in front of the inn. "Lots of opportunities to make happy memories."

"Yeah..." Eris nods, slowing slightly. "I suppose I do."

"What do you think? Got any dreams? Any goals?" You prod gently, watching as she shrugs. "Places you want to go? Things you want to do?"

"What about you?" She deflects. "What do you want to do with your life?"

"This." You laugh softly. "Travelling, adventuring, finding people I love and spending time with them."

"People you love..." Eris mutters. "Like Tracy?"

"Maybe... Maybe I should say 'People I care about'? I get attached to people fairly easily, I like to think I'm a good judge of character." You suggest.

"Is that to say you care about me?" She scoffs.

"I care about what happens to you. About where you end up. I wouldn't have brought you here if I didn't." You point out.

"I escorted you here." Eris corrects. "You even paid me."

"A rare happy memory?" You tease, watching her cheeks color. "Anyways, yeah, a big happy family seems to be the goal. It's what Tracy wants too, though she's really bad about chasing after what she wants. As soon as I showed up, she started working on expanding her house, so there'd be space for me."

"Well yeah..." Eris sighs, looking away when you glance at her.

"What's that supposed to mean?" You tease. "No, seriously. 'Well yeah'? What's that mean?"

"Forget it." She huffs, a small stream of smoke curling out of her nose. "It's nothing."

"Are you saying... That if you had a house, you'd make space for me?" You chuckle, watching her speed up and keeping pace with her. "Aww, you'd let me be your roommate?"

"I'd like... Take you home. Maybe. For a night or two, until you annoyed me." Eris admits. "If I had a place."

"You're so sweet, looking out for me when I have nowhere to go." You praise, patting her on the head.

"That's not what I'm saying at all." She huffs again. "Look, can we talk about something else?"

"I thought we had a breakthrough." You pout. "Ah, what sort of food do you like? I'll buy you something."

"Ah! Now you're speaking my language. Hey, they've got steamed buns!" You're quickly swept along as Eris rushes forwards, dragging you first to one stall, then another, sampling various foods along the way.
