19 Safe return

I let out a sigh I'm finally back home. I sure don't wanna be back in that situation again.

I shivered getting chills from the mere sight of the legendary birds. I don't even think that humanity will stand a chance.

Especially if we were face to face with the true legendary pokemon such as that articuno. It left a lasting impression on me.

I remember feeling scared but also excited at the same time. Scared because of its power but excited because I want to rise to the strength of being able to face the legendary pokemon.

One day hoping to even surpass their strength. But enough of the that. I let my parents know that I was back home and in safe condition.

Over the phone I could see there happy faces. They must have thought I was dead.

My mom spoke to me not holding herself back from crying at all.

Mom:Where have you been sweetie. We tried calling your phone multiple times it went straight to voicemail it's like there was no signal at all.

I spoke to them with great sorrow.

"It's a long story mom. I was basically taking a plane back from the tournament and everything was going fine until it took a turn for the worst."

Dad:What could have happened son it should have just been a simple flight back.

"Your going to be quite shocked when your here this but believe me. The trip was going well into we flew into a powerful thunderstorm that seemed to get stronger by the second."

"A huge bolt of lightning came down as it struck the plane sending me flying into my doom or what I thought to be my demise."

My parents shared a face of shock as they questioned me.

Dad:Not that I don't want you to die or anything son. But how exactly are you alive.

Putting a finger to face I had to think of how things went down again.

"The reason I was able to survive was through sheer luck and the help of my partner metang. It managed to form a protective shield around me in time to save me."

Taking a long pause i put my head down as my hair covered my face I spoke again.

"But I felt so powerless at the time. I wasn't able to save the pilot. All I could feel was the feeling of dread."

"The fact that I could have prevented another human from dying but I didn't."

I wallowed in self pity. Starting to feel depression come to my head.

I constantly began to blame myself being in my own little world. Until being brought out of it from a stinging red sensation on my face.

My mom looked at me with a stern face.

Mom:Now don't allow yourself to feel sad. You have been through way to much to give up now.

You were the one that gave this family a chance to prosper with this situation arrived. Also do you think that the captain would want you to waste your life this.

I looked at my mom in a while new light. Gaining my confidence back.

"Your right I shouldn't let myself get down. I would be doing the captain a injustice if I just wasted my life away worrying. The only thing I can do is push forward and do my best."

"Thanks for the encouragement mom."

Mom:No problem sweetie just remember me and your father are always here when you need help.

After talking to my parents for thirty minutes I arrived back to my house. I was surprised to see it was a group of paparazzi outside the gates.

One reporter pointed in my direction as they all saw me.

Random reporter:Look it's the heir of the reid family kj.

They all rushed me as I was bombarded with questions.

Random reporter:Where you have been mr reid.

Random reporter:Their has been recent allegations that you have been in a plane crash.

Random reporter:does your disappearance have to do with the recent rumors with their being a war brewing against Colombia.

Random reporter:Are you by any chance having a secret lover

Putting my hands quickly up to block out the reporters I responded as best as I could to the questions.

"To answer your question i got into a plane accident. Also I know of no such war but I'll make sure to educate myself on the topic later. As for the secret lover I have no such thing."

One bold reporter took the chance to get even closer to me.

Random reporter:Can you go into further details about the plane crash.

I mused for a second I decided to just tell the reporters that I woke up unconscious in another country and made my way back. If I tell them about the island the pokemon association will surely send someone there to investigate further.

I don't think that the world should know the existence of mystery island just yet.

"The plane had a strange malfunction as it went spiraling towards the ground crashing badly."

Another reporter with dark intentions began to speak.

Random reporter:Can you tell me why is it that your the only one that survived. To my knowledge I'm sure that their was another person on board.

"Yes the other on board was the captain he sadly was not able to be saved. Luckily I was able to survive through the help of my pokemon metang."

The reporter just looked at me with a sinister smile as he kept speaking.

Random reporter:Don't you feel that it is selfish of you to only survive. I feel that you could have helped the captain survive. This just looks bad on your part mr reid.

It seems that this reporter only wants to put me in a bad light.

"Sir I would like to kindly ask you to leave. While I may be able to control myself I can not say the same for my pokemon."

Holding my to pokeballs that seemed to be visibly shaking. Showing their eagerness to come out.

The reporters seemed to get the message as they left my house.

Going inside my house I slumped to the ground in tiredness.

It sure takes a lot of work being famous. It seems that every one of my actions is being judged.

I almost lost my cool there from the constant questioning. Especially about the plane subject.

Shaking them thoughts from my head. I went to the backyard to meet my new partner.

Throwing out Riolu and metang pokeball first. I let them familiarize them selves with the backyard.

They explored around for a few minutes before coming to my side.

"Alright guys I realized that I haven't been treating you the best I could. From now on things will be changed we are a family I will make sure that I only give you the best treatment."

I looked at my pokemon as they showed their impression on the topic of family.

Riolu looked at me with a bright smile as it gave me a fist bump.

Riolu!!

Metang being the less expressive one of the group just gave its own version of a nod.

"Thank you for trusting me guys now I would like you to meet are new member of the family. Please get along well."

Taking out a pokeball I pressed the button releasing our new family member.

From the ball came the ice bird pokemon articuno.

It gave out a majestic cry as it looked around its surrounding. This articuno was quite different from the one I saw on mystery island.

For instance this articuno seemed rather shy. It looked quite scared of metang and Riolu.

Seeing the only familiar person here being me articuno tried to hide behind me. Which was quite the funny site.

I never expected a legendary pokemon to be shy. Well I guess all pokemon have their different personalities that sets them apart.

Placing my hand on articuno head I softly patted it. It felt very smooth with a chilling touch to it.

"Calm down articuno these are my two partners who will be your family from now. I hope that we all can get along."

Articuno seemed to relax as it saw Riolu approach it. Riolu held out its fist to fist bump articuno but it was quite awkward since articuno had wings I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Articuno gained a tick mark as it shook its hands well I mean wings at me.

I sweat dropped this articuno gets even more special by the minute. I would never expect my new pokemon to be a tsundere.

Taking out my phone I took a scan of articuno

Tying some weights I found to articuno wings I gave it the next command.

"We will first start by flying 10 laps around the field. Let's get going maggot start."

Articuno gained a look of fear in its eyes as it began to speed off to finish the laps.

Laughing to myself I felt that this new family member has quite the personality.
