Chapter 39: Aron's Command Level

Battle Club, Supervisor's Office

"Director, Aron is here," the female secretary said as she walked into the conference room and bowed.

Lily Lewis, busy reviewing obscure and complicated documents, raised her charming face upon hearing the announcement. Stretching her slender arms, she said, "Turn on the screen."

At her command, the curtains automatically closed, dimming the room. A large screen descended across from Lily's seat.

The secretary silently adjusted the equipment using a remote control before stepping back into the corner. Moments later, the battlefield's live feed appeared on the screen.

Lily leaned slightly back in her chair, her beautiful eyes flickering with interest as she observed quietly.

---

On the battlefield, Aron and his sparring partner faced each other from opposite ends, ready for battle.

The sparring partner was a short-haired woman in her twenties with sharp eyes.

When both trainers signaled their readiness, the referee raised a flag and announced, "Please send out your Pokémon!"

Both trainers threw their Poké Balls simultaneously.

"Go, Combusken!"

"Go, Swellow!"

The white light bloomed, and Combusken stood quietly on the field, his eyes froze, looking up at Swellow hovering high in mid-air.

Swellow flapped its dark blue wings, and the scarlet lines on its neck and forehead were particularly conspicuous.

[Pokémon: Swellow (Normal/Flying)]

Ability: Guts

Potential: Gym Level

Level: 29 (intermediate)]

This Swellow, nicknamed "BUG" for its incredible resilience, was notorious for utilizing its Guts ability to turn the tide of battle. Even in desperate situations, it often launched miraculous counterattacks.

Ash's Swellow has many such scenes and has scored many victories for Ash.

Aron had deliberately chosen this formidable Swellow, almost at Advanced level, to spar against his Combusken.

---

The short-haired trainer took the initiative. "Aerial Ace!" she commanded in a cold voice, waving her arm.

When the voice landed, Swellow spread its dark blue wings and soared in mid-air. In the next second, his figure swooped down like an arrow leaving the string!

As a flying Pokémon, Swellow usually hovers high in the sky, swooping down only when it spots it's prey!

Because of this, Swellow's speed is astonishing, Aerial Ace shows a terrifying momentum, approaching Combusken at a high speed, and its wings and beak are shining with sharp white light!

"So fast!" Aron muttered, startled by its speed.

This Swellow obviously has special training for speed.

However, Combusken's sharp eyes remained focused, tracking Swellow's rapid approach. Slowly, the fast-moving opponent seemed to slow down in its perception.

"Detect!"

Combusken shifted slightly to the left at the last moment, narrowly evading Swellow's attack.

"Detect, huh?" the short-haired trainer murmured, her expression sharpening. Without missing a beat, she issued her next command: "Wing Attack!"

Swellow turned sharply in mid-air, its wings glowing bright white as they cut through the air like blades, aiming directly at Combusken.

---

"Flamethrower," Aron said calmly, his eyes steady.

"Com-busken!"

Combusken opened its mouth, unleashing a roaring flame towards the incoming Swellow.

The short-haired girl frowned slightly, and had no choice but to order: "Get out of the way!"

Swellow's speed suddenly increased sharply, as if equipped with an electric motor, it spread its wings and flew high in mid-air, flexibly avoiding Flamethrower.

"Again, Aerial Ace!" the short-haired girl shouted, stretching out her arm.

Swellow circled behind Combusken and launched another dive attack, its beak gleaming like a drill.

Aron calmly said, "Double Team."

In an instant, multiple copies of Combusken appeared on the battlefield, each identical to the original.

Swellow had no choice but to stay where it was, its sharp eyes scanning back and forth, looking for Combusken's real body.

"Air Slash!"

At soon as the voice sounded, Swellow's wings conjured numerous air blades, which slashed through the field with fierce precision.

"Flamethrower," Aron countered.

One of the Combusken clones, closest to Swellow, opened its mouth and launched a flamethrower straight into Swellow's chest.

The short-haired trainer's eyes widened in shock. "How dare he!" she exclaimed.

Supervisor's Office

Watching the battle unfold, Lily Lewis nodded slightly, her eyes glinting with admiration. "This is where danger meets opportunity," she remarked softly.

"His command level is exceptionally high—on par with seasoned trainers," the secretary commented.

"After all, he is the grandson of King Hugh Smith ." The female secretary said.

But Lily Lewis just shook her head slightly, and said with a smile: "It has nothing to do with this."

"The command skill of a trainer is a blend of innate talent and dedication. And while effort plays a role, but in the end, talent is what's most important ."

"Some Trainers, in the battle will always use unexpected tactics and achieve good results."

"The vast majority will only follow the rules and the dead methods in the textbook to command. Although they are stable, they lack spirituality."

She stretched out her jade hand to hold her chin, looked at Aron on the screen with interest, and said with a chuckle: "I can see that his theoretical knowledge is very solid, and he is also very calm in the battle."

"Calmness?" The female secretary chewed on these words repeatedly.

"Yes." A slight smile appeared on Lily Lewis's face, and she said softly, "Calmness is very important for every Trainer."

"The more important the moment, the more important it is to be calm, and it often directly affects the outcome of the battle."

"No matter what kind of situation Aron faces, he always looks calm and confident."

"For a fledgling Trainer, this is trait is extremely rare."

"Furthermore, he showed his spirituality in his command just now, he didn't blindly follow textbook methods"

Battlefield

Swellow, scorched from the Flamethrower, struggled to stay airborne. Its energy had plummeted dramatically.

Meanwhile, the battle had stretched long enough for Combusken's Speed boost ability to activate.

"Combusken, end it with Flame Charge!" Aron declared, extending his arm.

Combusken's body ignited with fierce flames as he launched himself toward Swellow with overwhelming speed and power. The battle's outcome was clear.
