My body is satisfied and pleased with that delicious apple curry me and Jenny ate for lunch. The pinch of spice gave my tongue a fiery blast while it's sweet curry sauce brought delight to my stomach with drenched and dried apples adding a cup of savory. From the plate to my nostrils, the aroma was flavorful, just like eating through your nose.
"So Luna, since you're not a fan of battling, may I ask what other fun things you do around here aside from drawing, reading, and painting?" Jenny questions with an eager and enthusiastic face. Her heart is filled with boredom and lethargy, all she wants to do all day is to fiddle around. Me? I'm not that bored since I am used to every single routine happening around here. I respond by lifting my two shoulders up. It depends on a person's definition of fun, it could be fun for her but boring for me, just like Pokemon Battling.
"I feel like I'm talking to myself every time you respond with the use of your body. I wonder how it feels to stutter all the time. I only stutter when I'm about to lose an argument or a debate." Jenny lowers her tone a bit. It is like she is trying to remember a woebegone memory filled with nothing but grief.
"You feel like, the wo... world is against you." I stutter, trying earnestly to complete my response.
"Wow, having Dysphemia sure is troubling. I feel sorry for you, probably a lot of people bully you don't they?
There's nothing we can do about it, life really is unfair. The only thing we could do is to adapt and strive. I'm glad I've met you, you're a good friend.
Forgive my rambunctious attitude, it's my first time to experience fun with someone else. I don't have friends except for Pikachu, and my mother. When we first met? I knew you were different from the rest. If only you could speak, I would be able to hear you out.
Hopefully, this friendship of ours continues to strengthen. Imagine being enemies one day? Me? A police, arresting a friend like you? Hopefully, that won't ever happen." Jenny utters with a solemn voice and her hands tucked inside her pocket.
There is no way I could be an enemy with my only friend in the future... or, could we?
"Hey! I know, I've heard about this place called the Sushi House. It's just on the other side of the street, maybe you and I could spend some time together?" Jenny's solemn spirit is lifted with sanguine and ebullience. Her eyes sparkle and her mouth craves for Sushi.
"No. It's ag, against the law." I decline with a stuttering voice. Disobeying rules and laws are prohibited, and friends are no exception.
"Oh come on! Please, it's just for a while. We're teenagers, we can handle ourselves as long we have Pokemons by our side. So what do you say? Why don't we get some Sushi for dessert?" Jenny's eyes continue to sparkle. She leans her head towards me while begging me to say yes. No matter how many times I respond with a no, Jenny still forces me to say yes.
"Too many guards," I respond. I am not even interested in Sushi, I don't even like to eat food wrapped in seaweeds.
"Oh, I don't think so, it's one in the afternoon, the guards are having their lunch. Please say yes! Please!" Jenny counters and continues to beg with a high pitched tone.
"CCTV" I excuse while pointing at the camera on the very edge of the hall.
"Hmph! Come on, just for a while. Let's make a mad dash through the gate." Jenny went too far and starts to drag me, Petilil and Ralts through the halls just like how I dragged her when we first met. I couldn't release my grip from her hand, her zest gives a tighter grip on my hands.
Jenny was right, the guards aren't in their shift for now. Everyone in the afternoon, all the guards, maids, and the rest of the staff proceeds to the dining hall to take their lunch.
Through the Orphanage's sturdy gates is where me and Jenny made a mad dash. Her grip is extremely powerful, just like a Heracross about to use Seismic Toss on me.
"Don't worry, I know how to navigate around this city," Jenny reassures as we gush through the city proper. Stalls, marts, dojos, you name it! This city is a metropolitan area, filled with businesses and advertisements everywhere. Aside from this, the famous Silph. Co is also located here, they're famous for their countless Pokemon inventions such as the crimson master ball. If I'm not mistaken, this new type of ball is currently under a prototype stage.
"Excuse me! Excuse me! I'll take two Sushi Rolls please." Jenny dashes to the counter of the so-called Sushi House Food Stall. She releases her grip and my blood could finally flow to my hand once more.
"Hello there trainer. Two Sushi Rolls would cost 100 Pokemoney, is that alright?" The bartender greets us with entertainment. He and his Charmander show off their cool cooking techniques to feed our souls with interest in their products.
"Ex... Expensive." I utter softly. I am about to leave the stall but Jenny pulla my shirt again. The bartender's entertainment seems to bore me a lot. Sushis are really not my type.
"Don't worry! Leave it to me, I'll be the one to pay for the Sushi!" Jenny promises with certainty while boasting of her money. Where did she even get that money? The last time I checked, orphans don't get salaries.
My mind fills in with worry and anxiety while I walk around in circles. What if my mother scolds me again? What if something goes wrong? There's nothing I could do except to panic gravely. Pikachu and Jenny seem fine and calm to me. Even if we're teenagers, she must know that we don't own the city, the Mafia does.
Jenny and her Pikachu stares endlessly at the bartender's entertainment while preparing our meal. Me? I continue to walk in circles until something catches my attention. On the corner of the street, I see three men interrogating with each other. Their presence seems to make my head curious.
"Jenny... I'll be back." My voice stutters as I slowly walked away from the stall. A grave mistake is what I did, little do I know that Jenny's attention was on the bartender and not on the words I was saying.
I hid behind a small trash can to see what these men were doing. I eavesdrop their conversation with pealed ears.
"With our technology, you'll be able to see once more. Your blindness will disappear in a flash. All we ask is that you join our organization." One man, wearing a brown coat utter with conviction while somewhat persuading the young teenager.
This teenager has a cane on his left hand, shades on his eyes, and his body is slouchy. He listens closely to what the other men are saying to him.
"Cure my blindness? Impossible... No one can cure a disorder." The teenager doubts with a shivering and trembling voice.
"If you don't want to believe us, then here, we'll give you a free trial." The other man utters with a deep voice while placing a somewhat VR device on the boy's eyes. This device is filled with nothing but pitch-black pigment except for its two lenses.
"Tell me, how do I look?" Both men surveys the teenager. I don't know if what they're doing is called black marketing or illegal selling. Or maybe, it's something different? Anyhow, their technology seems to make me interested. If they could cure the boy's blindness maybe they could cure my Dysphemia as well.
"I can see?! You're wearing a brown coat!" The teenager leaps with exuberance and bliss. His face rolls around the surroundings with awe and astonishment. It is his first time to see trees, cars, and nature.
"I told you! You can trust us. So what do you say? Join Team Rocket perhaps?" The other grunt encourages while removing the device from the boy. I guess the teenager's limited trial ended up pretty quickly.
"Join Team Rocket perhaps?" The voice murmurs to my mind. That's when I realized that I'm not supposed to be here. I've led myself to trouble which would soon change my life forever.
After hearing about this, I run as fast as I could while holding my Pokemons on my grasp. Everything feels louder than before as I perspire due to pressure and anxiety.
"Hey! She was eavesdropping us!" A grunt infuriates. The other grunt beams with rage and starts to chase me and my Pokemons.
<Pet?! Petilil!>Petilil looks behind. She sees the grunt getting closer and closer to us. I try my best to run and reach the stall Jenny and Pikachu are in, but things didn't go as planned when he sent out his Crobat.
<Cro! Crobat!>A four-winged beast with fangs belonging to vampires blocked my path. I look behind and saw the grunt, I looked in front and saw Crobat blocking my path. I yearn for help but no one was there to answer me.
She drags my body to the teenager and the other grunt. I am screaming for help with tears burst forth like water bursting from an embankment. Petilil and Ralts try to protect me but his Crobat suppressed them as well.
"I've captured her. Do you think she's a member of the Pokemon Police Department?" The grunt questions while holding my body tightly. They tie me and my Pokemons to a trash bin emitting a foul odor. I squirm as hard as I could to escape, but it is no use at all.
"Who are you? And what are you doing here? State your position! A spy? A secret operative?" The grunts demand information from me.
"Please... I, I am just an orphan." My voice trembles and stutters while begging them to release me. My eyes couldn't stop shuddering. My body became hoarse, and my sight became blurred due to the tears.
"You have dysphemia don't you?" The grunt with a brown coat kneels down and questions me with sudden calmness. My head shivers and nods. I beg to them to either release me and my Pokemons or at least just my Pokemons.
"Don't worry. We were just shocked to see a teenager like you eavesdropping our conversation. My name is Cliff, and this is my friend Arlo. We're members of Team Rocket.
Don't be frightened of the dark little one, you have yet to discover about the organization's true nature. Our purpose is to help those with disorders and burdens. People like you, deserve a better life, and not a life filled with hatred coming from bullies.
Now now, don't be scared, for the darkness shall beget the light. Our steel-hard will shall brave for the land, for we protect this world from devastation. We unite all people within every nation, and denounce the evil of truth and love." Cliff utters with a soothing voice. I feel more comfortable after hearing him out. At first, I thought they are about to abuse me, but it turns out Team Rocket isn't that evil. It depends on the grunts you talk to.
"With our technology, we can heal your disorder. All we ask in return is to join our organization, so that the good news would spread out to the entire region. Team Rocket, giving salvation to the fallen." Cliff adds with a tempting voice. Of course, I did not believe them right away. I even infuriated at them while rejecting their offer.
"Are you sure? This is a once in a life-time offer." Arlo questions with a gentle tone. No matter how much they try to persuade me, I continue to reject their offer.
"I understand, forgive my rambunctious attitude. I've been stubborn again. Now, promise me that you'll return to wherever you reside. Don't ever come across team Rocket again. If you need guidance, just consult us here in the same spot during the rise of the twilight moon. From nine to ten in the evening, expect us to be here doing some storage business." Arlo instructs as he sets me and my Pokemons free.
All this time, I thought Team Rocket doesn't have any sympathy at all. My eyes stop crying. My body feels relieved from all the turmoil.
Without hesitation, I run as fast as I could. I didn't dare to look back unto Arlo and Cliff. Such strange grunts to offer me something that would cure my disorder. No matter what, I won't join Team Rocket, even if my perception towards them is wrong.
"Arlo?! Why did you release her? What happened to Operation: R? We're already elite operatives, the boss will put us to a lower rank after hearing about this." Cliff questions with frustration.
"Let her be Cliff. She'll return to us soon. I know she will." Arlo utters softly while looking to the abyss. His mouth gives a malicious scowl throughout the corner of the city.
"There you are, Luna! Where have you been?" Jenny utters with relief. From the stall, she rushes to my gasping body and hold me tightly. My sight slowly disappears and my body feels dizzy. I am on a cotton-mouthed state due to all those languor and running. My body ran out of not only air but also water.
Jenny holds my body and places me down on a small public bench. She buys me a cup of water from the Sushi House Food Stall. I grab the cup of water viciously, my body couldn't handle the perspiration anymore as my desire for water surpassed my own consciousness.
"Where have you been Luna? Anyways, you can eat your Sushi back at the orphanage. Do you have any idea how worried I was?!" Jenny scolds me while holding a small white plastic containing my food. This wouldn't happen if she didn't drag me here. I forgot to tell her that I'm also asthmatic.
Jenny buys me one more cup of water. Although, this time I share it with Ralts and Lily. Astounding it is, to see grunts not fully aware of my Shiny Ralts. Maybe Arlo and Cliff aren't that interested in Shinies than I thought they would be.
I take a deep breath on the bench while trying not to panic. I try to speak but my voice keeps on stuttering. The only thing Jenny could do is to buy tons of cups filled with water.
"As... Asthmatic." My voice stutters. I give out a large cough as my breath gradually decreases.
"Asthmatic?! You didn't tell me you were asthmatic? Come on, we have to bring you to the orphanage." With a kind heart Jenny l, fits my body and places one of my arms on her nape.
"This is all my fault. You wouldn't be like this if it wasn't for me and my rambunctious attitude." Jenny regrets while carrying me back to the orphanage. I continue to feel dizzy and unsteady, my air passage got thinner as lesser oxygen is able to go through my lungs.
This doesn't usually happen every time I run, but when I rush too gravely or harshly, that's when my air passage gets thinner. Jenny's pull and grip are still handleable for my air passage but when it comes to panic, my body rushes faster than usual even faster than Jenny's speed.
Inside the orphanage, my worried mother greets me. She wants to infuriate but she sees my fading body. Jenny tells my mother that she didn't have a single clue about what happened to me due to my stuttering voice. It's hard for me to explain things, so I keep my sentences with minimal words.
Don't worry for my body was able to recover. Natasha was able to aid me with a nebulizer in the Orphanage's clinic. Even if I am feeling much better after nebulizing me, I am still instructed to sleep in my room. A bad turn of events happened to Jenny and her Pikachu for my mother infuriated and ordered her to enter her office.
