159 Youth Cup-3

After the one-sided slaughter that shattered Clair's confidence, the next round started without delay.

The fourth round was Misty from the Kanto region and Flint from the Sinnoh region.

Misty released her Pokemon which were Gyarados, Starmie, Politoed, Slowking, Kingdra, and Golduck.

Flint's team was made of Rapidash, Arcannie, Magmar, Flareon, Torkoal, and his ace elite rank Infernape.

Although Misty could be considered one of the weakest participants in this torment due to having no elite-rank Pokemon in her team, Misty's water-type Pokemon held an advantage over the Fire-type Pokemon of Flint.

All of Flint's Pokemon were fast his Infernape was a big danger so Misty had to plan accordingly.

Since her Pokemon were on the weaker side, Misty's main strategy was overwhelming the opponent with water and creating chaos on the battlefield.

As soon as the match started Slowking engaged Infernape while Politoed and Gyarados summoned heavy rain increasing the power of water-type moves and decreasing the fire-type moves.

Chaos immediately started with all of Misty's Pokemon attacking every single Pokemon of Flint.

Flint's Pokemon too attacked with waves upon waves of fire to counter the huge amount of water that was thrown at them. Due to this most of them were not able to work together as Misty didn't allow them to.

Not everyone was crazy like Aoki to throw their fire Pokemon into the water so the water was a major weakness for Flint's Pokemon.

As soon as the first wave of confrontation ended, Flint's Pokemon got to work to take care of the highest threat which was Gyarados.

Two battles started with one having Gyarados at its center with Misty's and Flint's Pokemon fighting around it while the other had Infernape and Slowing.

Even though Slowking used Trick Room to Slowdown Infernape considerably, Slowking was barely able to keep up with the elite rank Infernape.

Seeing that Slowing was not enough to keep Infernape in one place, Golduck joined the battle too.

The first Pokmon to be eliminated were Flareon and Magmar who went down after taking down Misty's Kingdra.

Next, to be eliminated was Misty's Starmie who was taken down by Arcanine.

Misty's Politoed and Gyarados were now fighting Arcanine, Rappidash, and Torkoal whose defense was very high.

On the other side, the collaboration of Slowking and Golduck had managed to bring Infernape's heath down activating his blaze ability.

With this Infernape started going berserk while on the other side, Gyarados was going berserk.

The entire battlefield was filled with vapors as water and fire continuously collided.

The next Pokemon to go down was Misty's Politoed followed by Flint's Rappidash and Torkoal in one go from Gyarados's Hydro cannon

Golduck went down to Infernape's Flair Blitz and at the same time, Physhic and Future sight hit Infernape together from Calm Mind boosted Slowking taking down Infernape.

Finally, Arcanine fought with Gyarados and Slowking together and finally went down after taking Slowking with him.

Misty from the Kanto region won the match with one of her Pokemon standings.

Flint from Sinnoh was eliminated.

The match was satisfying for both the trainers as both of them gave their best, and both of them were able to show their full potential impressing the higher-ups.

These types of matches were mostly expected from trainers not one-sided slaughter from trainers like Aoki or Cynthia.

Both of the trainers left the stadium with smiles on their faces.

The fifth round was between Diantha from Kalos and Iris from Unova.

Aoki paid extra attention to this match as both of them were future champions of their respective regions.

Diantha had a team that included Hawlucha, Tyrantum, Aurorus, Gourgeist elite rank Goodra, and her ace elite rank Gardivour.

Iris had a Team of Zweilous, Dugdrigon, Lapras, Espeon, elite rank Dragonite, and her ace Elite rank Haxoruos.

Diantha had quite a reputation due to her being a famous actress while Iris was a relatively unknown trainer.

This match was similar to Misty vs Flint but on a bigger scale and lasted for about twenty minutes.

Iris's Pokemon had raw power but Diatha's Pokemon had better Teamwork.

Dragonite vs Goodra and Haxorous vs Gardivoir were a sight to watch and gave the audience a lot of enjoyment.

The two pseudo-legendaries both got eliminated at the same but Gardivoir managed to defeat Haxorous only to fall after the announcer declared Diantha the winner.

It was the closest battle that came to a tie.

*********

The sixth round was between Wallace from Hoenn and Karen from the Johto region.

Karen had a team made of Umbreon, Gengar, Haunter, Mismagnius, Driftloon, and her ace elite rank Houndoom.

Wallace had a full water team of Gyarados, Ludicolo, Walrein, Swampert, Slowbro, and his ace elite Milotic.

Karen was a very tricky opponent for Wallace to deal with for Wallace as most of her Pokemon were very good at dodging.

Her Pokemon were very good at stalling time and taking down the health of the opponent slowly.

With this method, she took down Wallace's Ludicolor and Walrein.

Wallace didn't let their sacrifice go to waste as he eliminated Haunter and Driftloon with Slowbro.

Wallace had a better time as it took the combined effort of Umbreon and Mismagnous to hold down Gyarados.

The match lasted about a total of twenty-five minutes with Wallace winning with only his Swampert and Slowbro standing.

In the current rankings, Kanto and Hoenn had two wins with Unova and Johto regions losing two matches.

**********

The seventh match was between Sabrina from the Kanto region and Caitlin from the Unova region.

This match was interesting in a way that both of them were psychics with psychic-type teams.

Sabrina started with her team which included Banette, Dusknoir, Espeon, Slowbro, elite rank Alakazam, and her ace elite rank Gardevoir.

Caitlin had Bronzong, Claydol, Reuniclus, Slowking, Musharna, and her ace elite Gothitelle.

The match lasted about ten minutes with Sabrina winning the match with four of her Pokemon standing.

Sabrina totally dominated the battle except for a mistake that made her lose Slowbro and Banette.

All the tactics that Aoki taught her added to her experience and psychic power, she overwhelmed her opponent.

With this match, Kanto had won three rounds with Unova losing all three of her participants.

Ironic as they were the ones hosting the event.

*********

The eight-match was between Jasmine from Johto and Malva from the Kalos region.

Jasmine had a full steel-type team of Steelix, Magneton, Skarmory, Forrestress, Mawile, and her ace elite rank Ampharos.

Although Steven called himself a steel specialist, she had more steel types than him.

Mava had a full-fire type team of Talonflame, Torkoal, Chandelure, Houndoom, elite rank Delphox, and her ace elite rank Pyroar.

Aoki was interested in her match as she was a member of Team Flare in the Kalos storyline.

Even with the advantage, Malva lost four of her Pokemon to Jasmine before winning.

With this match, the Johto region was eliminated from the game too.

*********

The ninth and today's last match was between Phoebe of the Hoenn region and Aaron of the Sinnoh region.

Phoebe had a ghost-type team of Sableye, Mismagnius, Banette, Dusknoir, elite rack Chandelure, and elite-rank Driftloon.

She was someone who grew up in Mt.Prye around ghost Pokemon and had a natural ability to communicate with them.

Aaron had a team of Yanmega, Heracross, Pinsir, Vespiquen, elite rank Drapion, and his ace elite rank Scizor.

Both the trainers were almost equal in the battle but Phoebe managed to win with only her Driftloon standing.

With this match, all nine rounds of the first day concluded.

Johto and Unova participants were totally eliminated with Kanto and Hoenn regions each having three wins.

The matchups of the next rounds were announced which will be held two days later.

1. Misty vs Wallace

2. Cynthia vs Sabrina

3. Steven vs Malwa

4. Aoki vs Phoebe
