140 Prehistoric Pokemon

As soon as the announcement ended, trainers swarmed the mining area with their kits and Pokemon.

Back in the camp Brock and Aoki were chatting while Daisy was asleep.

She didn't sleep last night due to her studies, so she is completing her sleep now.

"Why didn't you participate in Aoki? I thought that you liked looking into things like these. " Brock asked.

" Currently my hands are filled with a lot of things so I am not doing anything new"

Brock knows about Aoki's hobbies as Aoki has shared some of his observations with rock Pokemon but he doesn't know Aoki's other identity.

"How is your current life compared to your life as a gym leader, Brock?"

"It's fun. I am getting exposed to many things that I could never get at home

Another thing that made the journey fun was the people I am traveling with.

Daisy's attitude can be a real pain sometimes but she is very practical and calculative.

She being in the same profession as I am sort of helps me to grow due to peer pressure.

Ash can be silly at times but his outlook on life and the things he does are refreshing. "

" Seems like you are enjoying yourself well. Did any gym leader recognize you? " Aoki asked.

"Most of them recognized me and were somewhat relieved to hear that my father was taking his job seriously now"

They talked for a while till Darkrai returned to Aoki's shadow after getting his work done.

'That was quick, what did you find?'

[I didn't find any mega stones but I found more interesting things.

There are a few fossilized eggs and Pokemon around that could be revived.

I have collected only the perfect ones….

Some of them are large while some of them are small.

And the most important thing is that there is a complete ecosystem deep inside that hole where Pokemon are living. ]

Aoki was surprised to hear that.

'What kind of ecosystem?'

[There is a large chamber deep underground that has small steam that directly connects to the big river…..

The chamber is filled with rocks, vegetation, and puddles of water that are glowing blue in color.

The species living there are Kabuto, Omanyte, and a lone Aerodactyl that lives by feeding on the plants present there.

Kabuto and Omanite use the river to bring more food and hide from the outside world.

I had a talk with them and most of them decided to tag along but the Aerodactyl refused and attacked me so I put him to sleep.

The Pokemon have shifted to the lake we had built ]

'Good work. We wait till everything ends then forcefully take Aerodactyl with us. It's not every day we come across such Pokemon.

Have you collected samples of the new things you found? '

[Yes, I have taken samples of the rocks, water, and plants found there']

'Thank you very much, Darkrai'.

[And a last piece of information, your partner will soon find a Pokemon egg while that boy Ash is digging the area just above the chamber.

As I had taken quite a lot of materials from that area, there is a chance that he might fall down ]

'Don't worry about him. Do me a last favor and make sure that Misty gets one of the fossils.'

"What happened Aoki? you seem distracted " Brock asked.

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about something, " said Aoki as a smile bloomed on his face.

What Darkrai found could be said as very interesting things as the process of revival of fossils were dependent on that.

Years ago a team of researchers found a strange liquid underground that had the property to melt and decompose fossils but they also returned the fossil to its original form.

This was a miraculous liquid that could even reattach broken parts of fossils during excavation.

Although this liquid was never found again, scientists somewhat replicated the liquid which became the basis of fossil revival. But the created one could not match the power of the original.

It was similar to the liquid that was shown in a certain anime in his past life that revived people that had become stone 2000 years prior.

Now Aoki figured out why there are alive fossil Pokemons deep underground.

He will wait till the end and if the events from the anime don't happen, he will take everything from there including the Pokemon.

At least they will have a regular and proper food supply in his dimension.

"I remembered something, I will be back in a while," Aoki said before leaving the camp.

He released Pidgeot from her Pokeball and asked her to fly away.

As soon as he reached out of observation range of everyone, he disappeared into a separate dimension.

With the instruction from Darkrai, he reaches the place where everything was stored.

Ever since the dimension was created, Aoki and Darkrai had made various changes to it.

First, the entire forest was now filled with various fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants. Various parts of the dimensions were divided and forged into small habitats like a rocky area for Chiarzard and Nidoking, tall trees for Pidgeot, etc.

Lastly, the middle area where his Pokemon were not allowed to enter without permission.

Here lie some of the important buildings.

The first building Aoki entered was the fossil storage.

It was a large storage room for storing precious things. This was an abandoned building that Darkrai teleported to his dimension and renovated by Aoki.

There were about 10 fossils in that storage space varying from large to small.

"Let's see, around four Kabuto fossils and three Omanyte fossils.

Two Aerodactyl fossils and 1 fossil I don't recognize.

The gain is huge.

You are great Darkrai. "

After doing another short survey, he went to the second location.

The Greenhouse.

This too was an abandoned building that Aoki and his Pokemon renovated. Aoki grew exotic and rare plants here to conduct some research.

Aoki was amazed to see glowing plants for the first time.

"Seems like I will be busy for a while…

"Let's go back for now, I will look into these after some time"

Inside a cave, in the mining site, Nidoking was digging a large hole with Misty standing not far from him.

Beside Misty was Goldduck who was digging too. Although his claws were not as powerful as Nidoking's, he could still dig as he was making the soil wet with his water powers.

"Sigh! Still nothing"

Misty was disappointed.

She has been digging for almost two hours at different places but had no luck so far. She could see people dig out fossils and jump in glee as those could be revived into fossils.

Four people had found Kabuto fossils while 3 people had found Omanyte fossils but she had no luck so far.

As she was thinking about going elsewhere she heard Golduck calling for her.

She looked down into the 20-meter-deep hole that Golduck was digging and saw him flashing a round object that looked like an egg.

A cheerful expression appeared on her face but her happiness exploded when Nidoking too called for her and showed her a fossil that looked like the Kabuto ones she saw others finding.

"Thank you so much Nidoking...Golduck !!"

She didn't wait and immediately went towards the staff to get them revived. As there was a line, she had to for almost 30 minutes before going in.

"Congratulations miss, both of these items can be returned to their original form. Would you like them to be converted now?"

"Yes Please !" Misty said without hesitating.

She paid the fees for revival which was around 20k per item. The price was worth it as she was getting prehistoric Pokemon.

The man who took the items from Misty first kept the round fossil under a large machine that covered the egg in a blue liquid followed by bathing it in lights of different colors.

In front of her eyes, Misty could see the egg slowly changing from brown-black to a white egg with a red-blue pattern.

"Congratulations miss, this is a fertile egg that will hatch over time. As it was fossilized for centuries, it would take a minimum of 2-3 months to show any hatching signs.

We have seen a lot of fossilized eggs but have never seen an egg of this pattern so this might be of a rare species of a species that is entirely new. "

Misty took the egg and carefully placed it in a separate bag for her to carry. She remember that Aoki always carried an egg incubator so she decided to borrow it when she returned back to the camp.

Next was the process of reviving Kabuto. The man asked Misty to prepare a Pokeball so she took out an ultra ball.

This time Kabuto fossil was put into an even larger machine and took about 20 minutes for the revival to take place.

If it was Misty from before, she could have freaked out seeing the bug-like appearance of Kabuto but over time she has somewhat learned to cope with her fear of bugs so she is not scared or disgusted by Kabuto.

Misty always wanted a Kabutops because it looked cool unlike its first evolution and finally she was getting one.

She didn't wait and immediately caught the newly evolved Kabuto into the ultra ball.
