Ash thought to himself with a satisfied smile that Fearow could stuff its face with as many Weedle and Caterpie as it pleased because those Pokémon should be an easy catch for such a large and dangerous bird. And while Fearow is busy defending the rest of us from the dangers that lie within, it will believe that I am providing it with an endless buffet of delicious food as a special treat.

Ash stated that from this point forward, we would be walking everywhere. He patted Fearow on the side and said, "You," before telling her that she could eat anything that came within twenty feet of them.

The large Pokémon gave a single shake, which caused its feathers to become ruffled, but neither Misty nor Ash could determine whether or not Fearow understood the part it was to play in the scenario. Misty returned Blastoise to its pokeball with a flick of her wrist, an action that Fearow took note of, and then snapped the ball to its magnetic clip on her belt. Fearow was impressed by this action.

The young lady expressed her concern that there wouldn't be much she could accomplish in the space. She made every effort to keep her voice steady, but Ash still caught the uncomfortable edge in her tone. She said, "My Pokémon can't stand up to a whole lot of poison, so this is going to be mostly on you Ash."

He walked in front of the group and said, "Don't worry about it," as he tried to get everyone moving again. He made a gesticulating motion, and Growlithe once more took the lead, while Pikachu pivoted on its trainer's head to keep a close eye on Fearow, who was walking alongside Ash. The Pokémon with the feathers strutted around with dipping strides, bobbing its head as it went. It moved at the awkward human pace. We have a top-notch group of people ready to take on any challenge.

As they continued to walk, Misty encircled herself with her arms because she felt that the forest was getting too close for her comfort. "Are you aware that it might take us a week or even longer to make our way through this place?"

Ash nodded. He shook off the chill that ran down his back as the party approached the edge of the forest and stopped. "My grandpa and I got through in five days so I figured we'd probably be a week." He said as he shook off the chill that ran down his back. Just before they arrived, the plains started to become covered with thick brush and brambles. They had moved forward fifty metres when suddenly, inexplicably, a continuous forest appeared in front of them, resembling a wall of dense trees and thorny bushes.

A rough tunnel had been cut through the forest floor by someone or something, and the road that the party was standing on continued on in a straight line between two particularly tall, tower-like trees that were located on either side of the tunnel. Even from this distance, Ash was able to see that the edges of that tunnel had become jagged because the surrounding forest had begun to take back the path. The trainer had to force a swallow at this point. It was a path that was noticeably more congested than he had recalled it being.

He was on the verge of breaking out in a cold sweat but kept moving forward as though nothing was bothering him. Perhaps we should just burn the whole thing down, he thought. However, as they got closer to the actual break in the trees that made room for the path, he began to feel a little bit more at ease. He could see that once someone passed beyond the initial wall of trees, the forest opened up in much the same way that a clustered city would, with thick patches of trees forming blocks around which little paths and alleys broke off. The path was still likely to inflame claustrophobia, but he could see that once someone passed beyond the initial wall of trees, the forest opened up in much the same way.

After being accompanied by Fearow and Growlithe, Ash was the first to enter the forest after the forest's battlements were breached, and he was immediately cast into darkness by the dense canopy of the trees. He spoke the words "See?" not only to himself but also to the trainer standing behind him and the Pokémon standing next to him. "We're already inside, and nothing has happened. This isn't as bad as it seems."

Misty let out a piercing scream as the colour suddenly drained from her skin and she watched in horror as it happened. The young lady pounced from behind and viciously kicked Ash in the leg. She yelled, pointing to the green thing that had suddenly wrapped itself around her leg, "Get it off, get it off, get it off!" and demanded that it be removed.

Growlithe barked out a battle cry and charged into action before Ash had even had time to turn around and look behind him to see that a Caterpie had crawled out from the shade of the bushes and attached itself to Misty's leg because it was relatively warmer than the ground. As Growlithe jerked back and shook his head like an attacking crocodile, the canine twisted its head and closed its jaws around the insect, causing it to explode in a puddle of green goo. This ensured that the insect was completely dismembered.

Misty was only able to stand by and watch in disbelief as the final, unrecognisable pieces of the insect fell away from the dog's green-stained teeth and maws. When she saw the slimy green insides of the bug splattered all over her leg, clinging to her shoe, and hanging from her thigh, she felt her stomach fall into her feet. She was horrified. The shell-shocked smile that was plastered across her face was accompanied by a twitch in her cheek, and her hollow eyes mirrored the expression.

While Ash knelt down and pet Growlithe and scratched him behind the ears, he praised Growlithe by saying, "Good boy." As he went on to further compliment Growlithe, as well as to praise both Pikachu and Fearow for being so vigilant, Misty, who was standing in exactly the same place, clinging to the empty space Ash had occupied more than a minute ago, continued to stare down at the goop on her leg. He went on to praise Growlithe, as well as to praise both Pikachu and Fearow for being so vigilant.
