Well, since I had the rest of the month to myself, I just did what came to my mind whenever I was not busy training either myself or my Pokemon. That involved some spa/massage sessions for my Pokemon and I also ended up expanding my glass sculpture collection since I actually enjoyed making sculptures of my Pokemon in various positions and designs.
Mothra/Butterfree and Togetic were the ones that liked posing for sculptures or simply watching me work the most. Heck, Mothra's enthusiasm was what pushed her to finally master Minimize, ensuring that she could keep watching no matter who was acting as the model. There had been a few cases where she was not able to find a good enough position to watch when the Slythering Six posed for a sculpture.
Now that she had mastered Minimize she was able to reduce her size drastically, and while she could not shrink down to the size of one of the Butterflies of my old world, Mothra was able to go as small as 30ish cm, wings included.
That was already pretty impressive considering that the average Butterfree was slightly above 1.1 meters in size. Not to mention her original size which was pretty close to 3 meters, or 300 cm. The last time I measured her height she had reached 289 cm. Her wings were naturally included in that.
Nonetheless, this meant that Mothra could actually shrink down to around a third of the size of a regular Butterfree, or close to a tenth of her real size. Besides, 30ish cm was small enough for her to actually settle on my shoulder or head and Mothra enjoyed making use of that quite often.
That actually forced me to work out since her size reduction did not magically make her lighter, she pretty much retained her weight while shrinking. I guess one could say that she became a bit denser, which made her a bit tougher as well. I naturally knew better than to mention the whole weight topic around Mothra and simply chose to carry her without bringing up her weight.
Well, she did not only use Minimize to watch me sculpt. No, she actually chose to keep up the move pretty much half the time she was around others, and nearly all the time we were out. In her words, being that size was more convenient around others and she could actually follow me around everywhere when she was that "small" without bothering anyone else.
Jessie had certainly been surprised when I showed up to one of our outings with Mothra leisurely sitting on my shoulder, just enjoying the view. She was immediately taken in by mini-Mothra, and she decided to have her Blissey focus on mastering Minimize as well so that she could gain access to a chibi mode too.
Jessie even began coming up with performances based around Minimize. Mothra and I chimed in as well, turning some of our meet-ups into performance discussions. Well, discussing various poses and acts with Jessie was fun, so that was perfectly fine with both of us.
Aside from Jessie, I also came across James as well as Layla a few times when I came to Pallet to meet up with Jessie, and we spoke for a few minutes each time that happened. At one of those meetings, we agreed to meet up on another day, so we ended up meeting two days later at one of the Aldini branches for lunch.
It was a pretty nice lunch and I had to say that James was a funny guy, which made him a pretty good conversation partner. Layla was more serious than her brother, but she was someone who actually took being a trainer quite seriously, so we had more than enough topics to talk about.
Nonetheless, if I was honest, I preferred James' company more. He just seemed livelier and happy, which made him seem more genuine/approachable to me than Layla. Still, I could say that I liked the siblings well enough and that I was considering them as friends. The rather casual kind, but friends nonetheless.
Anyway, it was in this rather free manner that I kept enjoying my rather calm days until something important happened. Well, at least important for me and my Pokemon. On Mewday of the fourth week, so exactly one week before the new month came around and my parents came back, Thor/Raichu reached the (high) gold stage.
Obviously, we partied that day to celebrate Thor's success, and the next day Thor, Mothra, and I paid a visit to Uncle Raichu to show him and the rest of Thor's family his progress. After the initial greetings were exchanged and we shared the good news with them, I asked Uncle Raichu for permission before calling out the rest of our not-so-small family, Slithering Six included.
Thor's family already knew all of us, so they were used to seeing all these rather big Pokemon by now. Some of the Pichu and Pikachu actually made it a game of climbing onto the Slythering Six to play a game of tag with the condition to remain on top of one of the six Gyarados.
Anyway, the whole Pika family was used to my Pokemon so everyone got along swimmingly. Well, as usual, our visit proved itself to be quite the fun outing and I could not help but laugh when Thor bragged to his dad about catching up to him soon enough.
Uncle Raichu simply laughed before play-slapping the back of Thor's head with his tail and telling him that he was a hundred years too young to brag in front of him before bursting into laughter once more. I could not help but join him after thinking of Uncle Raichu's age.
Thor threw me a look and I told him the reason for my laughter. When he heard that I was laughing because he'd still be less than a quarter of his dad's age even if he waited a hundred years, he started laughing as well. Uncle Raichu just gave us an exasperated look, but we could see the pride he had for Thor hidden in his eyes.
Still, I could not help but repeat my offer to Uncle Raichu to relocate their family to a much better area, namely Utopia, but just like the previous times, Uncle Raichu refused. He felt that this place was still enough for them and that he did not want to leave because this was the territory that his tribe had lived in for the last thousand or so years.
During my first few attempts, Thor spoke up in favor of my suggestion, but after the seventh or so rejection he gave up unlike good old me. Still, this was the 14th or 15th rejection I had gotten by now and I was considering temporarily giving up as well.
I'd ask him again before leaving the northern continent for a prolonged period to explore the other continents. Still, that was a few years away, so I'd leave Uncle Raichu in peace until then. Truthfully, I had given the same offer to Luna/Celfable's family as well, but they also refused due to pretty much the same reason.
Well, in their case, the thousand or so years were ten thousand or so years, so yeah. The tribe was there during the time of the previous civilization or maybe even the ones before that one, so I could see why they would want to stay there.
I certainly understood why Elder Clefable laughed when he heard my offer, and I stopped asking after being rejected once. Though I did offer to relocate a part of the tribe if there was ever a portion that wanted to move.
I doubted anyone could force them to relocate considering how strong the Elder and some of the other Clefable were, but if some tribe members wanted a new place to live, I was ready to provide them with the optimal place to live.
Anyway, back to the present. We spent the rest of the day with Uncle Raichu and the rest of Thor's family. They were certainly happy during dinner since they enjoyed my cooking a lot.
Thankfully, with my Pokemon acting as my assistants, cooking for a few hundred Pokemon was no problem, so we had enough food for everyone to eat to their heart's content. At the end of our visit, I left Uncle Raichu a few bags full of snacks geared towards their line, courtesy of Thor and me, much to the jubilation of all the Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu.
The next morning I decided that it was time to spare some time to focus on my ongoing projects. It was already Palkiday, and my parents were going to show up on Giratiday, the next week, for breakfast, so sparing some time for my projects seemed like the right thing to do.
I first checked up on the Rattata project before moving on to the Sunlight Bellflower project. I had last checked up on the flowers 8 days ago, and they had been about to bloom at that point, so I was hoping they had done so by now.
Well, considering what I was seeing right now, I could safely say that they had in fact bloomed, and since I could see them displaying slightly different characteristics compared to the regular Sunlight Bellflower, I'd wager that I had succeeded in growing something slightly different. We would have to test whether it was what I wanted or not, but for now, I checked the flower's status to see what had changed on "paper".
Well, it had certainly mutated due to my interference since the new flower was actually called Sunshine Bellflower instead of Sunlight Bellflower. While that was only a rather small difference, it was still an important one. According to the description, the brightness of the Sunshine Bellflower changed according to the time of the day, with noon being the brightest.
That description looked promising enough and I was hoping that the Sunshine Bellflower had taken on the characteristics I need from the Sun Stones and Sun Crystals. Ultimately, there was only one way to find out, so I began to look up when the next Solar Flare was.
Luckily, there was one tomorrow, so the next morning I made my way back to the Mt.Moon Mountain Range for another test. I spent the next few hours before the estimated period of the Solar Flare to find another Ursaring that wouldn't immediately impact the balance.
I managed to spot one about two hours into my search, and like the Ursaring before this one, or rather Ursaluna considering that I had helped it evolve, the current Ursaring also possessed a rather average potential, at deep yellow, along with being decently strong.
Regardless, after spotting my victim, I meant test subject. Wait, that did not sound good as well. After finding the lucky candidate, I kept an eye on it until it was time for the Solar Flare to happen. Since I had to ensure to keep it a secret from my tail, I did so covertly.
I made sure to keep track of the Solar Flare to avoid missing the opportunity and as soon as it happened, I did a few predetermined teleports to get rid of my tail for a few minutes to perform my test.
As soon as I was "alone", I moved close to the Ursaring and plucked one of the Sunshine Bellflowers from Utopia. I actually noticed that the Sunshine Bellflower was radiating light like never before. I was suspecting that this was due to the Solar Flare and this reaction alone raised my expectations quite a bit.
Anyway, I chucked the shining Shunshine Bellflower at the unsuspecting Ursaring, who only noticed it mid-flight and did not bother dodging it after seeing that it was only a flower. When the Ursaring began to light up after the flower touched it, I could not help but be happy seeing that my experiment had worked. The Ursaring successfully evolved to Ursasol right before my eyes.
Once I had confirmed that my Sunshine Bellflower actually worked, I teleported away and made it easy for my tail to spot me to prevent him from stumbling upon the newly evolved Ursasol. It did not take long for my tail to find me and as soon as he did I made my way out of the mountain range.
Once I was back home, I let Utopia initiate the seed production phase, but I let Utopia do an adjustment to the new generation so that the new Sunshine Bellfowers could not produce any viable seeds to keep others from growing their own.
I did not have that problem since I still had the other Sunshine Bellflowers from the original batch. I planned to keep the parent plants for the sole purpose of seed production. As for why I was focusing on growing them through seeds instead of using Utopia's replication function?
I did that because growing them like this was more efficient than using Utopia's replication considering the numbers I wanted and the fact that I could use the replication function for stuff that I could not grow the natural way.
