Aichi vs Roark Part 2 (47)
After the dust clouds settled, the only Pokemon that could be seen on the field was Onix.
'Phew, Turtwig got away.' I thought with a relieved look. Quickly regaining myself after noticing it was still mid battle, I command Turtwig.
-Turtwig, come out of the ground and use [Razor Leaf]!- I tell him through our link. A few seconds after I say this, I hear Roark shout.
"Use [Dragon Tail] on the same entrance!" Roark tells Onix. Onix now with his tail wrapped in a purple hue, waits patiently for Turtwig to pop out.
Unfortunately for it, Turtwig pops out of a different tunnel with a bright green glow around its body.
"Turt!" The plant Pokemon shouts with vigour as it uses [Razor Leaf]. The huge rock snake Pokemon facing the opposite direction, isn't able to dodge the attack and gets directly hit from behind.
*Roar!*
With Turtwig back in front of me, I realise that his ability has activated. His [Overgrow] ability is currently active which means Onix pushed him far enough to do this.
"Damn, Onix use [Rock Throw] and get closer to Turtwig!" Roark commands right after without losing his cool.
*Woosh!*
With multiple boulder flying at impossible speeds at Turtwig, he can only hope to dodge as he barely gets by the first rock.
"Use [Leafage]!" I shout. Turtwig now regaining his confidence, rushes up to Onix while smacking the boulders away which chip a little on his health.
"Onix, [Head Smash]!" Roark says right after my command.
With Turtwig and Onix now rushing up to each other, both Pokemon take a small leap as with Turtwig it was upwards while Onix downwards.
*Boom!*
Both of them soon after impact, gets immediately sent crashing down as the battle ends with a tie breaker.
"Both Pokemon are unable to battle, please send out your next Pokemon!" The referee announces after confirming that the two Pokemon were fainted.
Looking over at Roark, I see a wide grin plastered on his face with mine doing the same.
'This is quite fun. I can't wait until Aegislash can get a piece of that Garchomp.' I say to myself.
I'm sort of becoming a Pokemon battle junkie now aren't I?
Well no matter, it's not exactly a bad thing now is it. Grabbing Turtwig's Pokeball, I return the tired Pokemon while summoning Chimchar's Pokeball as I want him to finish the job.
After putting back the plants Pokeball into my ring, I sent out Chimchar. Roark also sending out his Pokemon, times it perfectly with me.
"Chim chimchar!" He shouts in glee after noticing its time for him to battle again.
"Crai crai!" A Cranidos roars out. Looking at the ancient Pokemon, I start to sharply observe it. It seems to more of a strength type Pokemon rather than speed or a balance of both. Thats if the crack on the floor indicating it's weight says anything about it.
"Chimchar use [Ember]." I command using the same chip damage move.
*Crackle*
"[Ancient Power] Cranidos!" Roark shouts. Cranidos stomping the floor with all its might, somehow sends the rocks towards the [Ember] and cancels it while making it an attack.
Chimchar not wanting to get hit like any other being, dodged the attack swiftly while getting behind cover waiting for instructions.
"Use [Ember] while keeping distance." I command. Chimchar already knowing this little trick, starts to run circles around Cranidos without any mercy while bombarding it with flames.
*Crackle*
"Cranidos, use [Head Smash]!" Roark says after a little while of useless dodging. Chimchar seeing the incoming Pokemon, uses a boulder on the field to dodge and hide itself.
-Stay beside the boulder and charge a [Power-Up Punch]- I tell Chimchar with my telepathic link. Cranidos smashing into the boulder, loses its field of vision as it can only see dust. Unknown to Cranidos but known the every one on the field, a fire monkey with a brown hue on its fist runs up to the Pokemon.
"Cranidos [Crunch]!" Roark says in desperation after seeing the situation. Unfortunately for him though, Cranidos didn't get any time to think as he got hit into the ground.
*Crack*
"Keep on going!" I shout seeing the downed Pokemon, punched into the ground. Chimchar not letting up, soon finishes the battle after a few more powered punches.
"Cranidos is unable to battle, making Chimchar the winner. Which in turn makes Aichi from Twinleaf Town the winner!" The referee shouts. Hearing this I run up to Chimchar and pull him into a big hug.
"Let's go buddy!" I say in glee while twirling him around. The others watching this get a warm smile seeing my reaction winning my first ever gym badge.
"Char char!" Chimchar squeals out while puffing its chest out in pride. Seeing the proud monkey, I promise myself to feed both Turtwig and Chimchar loads of treats today.
*Clap* *Clap*
Snapping out of my short but sweet victory, I see Roark walking up to me while clapping. Right next to the guy is the referee who is as holding a little case.
"That was an amazing battle Aichi, you did splendidly for your first ever gym battle!" He congratulates me. "Cant forget to praise this amazing Chimchar as well cant I?" Adds at the end with an amused face seeing the prideful little guy.
The both of them getting up to me, present the Oreburgh Gym in the flesh. Well not actually flesh but you get what I mean.
"Woah." I murmur seeing the badge. This might just be a "badge" but theres a reason why people get so impressed down the street when they see Ash flexing his badges.
It's not as easy as people say it is to win a battle anyways. You have to factor in split second decisions, your Pokemon's strength, their positioning, using your environment, move sets, type advantages and more.
So things like these are really impressive, and these don't factor in how difficult an official gym badge is to get.
Most people take the easy way out and only battle 2-4 official gyms while doing the rest with unofficial gyms for an easier time.
"You've earned it." The referee says while elbowing Roark making the Gym Leader wince a little. Taking the gym badge out of the case, I summon my own gym case from my ring and place it in there.
"Let's go Aichi!" I hear Dawn cheer from the stands. Looking up at their direction, I see all three of them including their Pokemon happily shouting my name. After waving back up at them, I make my way out of the stadium.
