Cinnabar Island

Dark clouds started covering the sky above the Mt. moon, Zapdos was preparing to attack.

"Hiyaaa."

Vidal saw Starmie also arrived at the scene; he was dragging along a hand bag.

At the moment, with a thunderous sound, lightning strikes the body of Moltres.

A huge amount of smoke rises from the body of the Moltres, it started to fall down from the sky.

Already drained with most of the energy by Shadow trap, and now with the powerful attack from Zapdos, Moltres immediately fainted.

Vidal returned Starmie to ball and carried the bag down towards the place where Moltres was falling.

Bang!

Vidal reached the place to find Moltres passed out; Zapdos landed near him and stared at him.

"What? Moltres isn't dead. It has just passed out."

"Passed. HMMM."

Vidal smiled, pulled a Pokeball and threw it towards Moltres.

1sec.. 2sec… 3sec…

"I caught Moltres."

Zapdos stare intensified.

"It's all thanks to you. I will get you some new delicacies from another city."

Zapdos let out a satisfied cry and returned to ball.

At the bottom of Mountain, three Pokemons Gengar, Alakazam and Arcanine were bickering over something.

"What are you guys discussing about?" Vidal interrupted their bickering.

Arcanine pointed towards three piles of bodies; first pile was arranged one body on top of another like a building, another pile was inside a hole, and in the last one the bodies were suspending upside down.

All three of them came towards him, pointing at the pile of bodies.

"No, I am not going to judge your creativity. We are leaving this place immediately."

They returned to their balls reluctantly glancing at the pile of bodies one last time.

Finally, Vidal opened the bag brought by Starmie.

Some papers on information about the Shadow team and their objectives. And also a letter to him.

After reading the letter he can only put it into one word, "Interesting."

Vidal finally packaged the bag and sent it to Professor Oak with all the material included.

Vidal was currently on a cruise ship in its way to Cinnabar Island.

His Pokemons were playing around the ship, and he was just enjoying the sea breeze on the uppermost part of the ship.

The lower deck was filled with tourists, Pokemons, Gary and Ash with his travelling partners.

Vidal was able to solve the issue with Moltres; it was harder than Zapdos as Moltres was very Picky when it comes to eating.

There has been no sight of Shadow after Mt. Moon, and good thing was he got his balance refilled again.

Currently, Brock, Misty and Ash were talking about Cinnabar Island and Gym, and Gary made his entry with girls surrounding them.

Vidal didn't show up to them in the entire journey to Cinnabar Island.

After everyone left the ship, Vidal also exited at last.

Streets filled with tourist, food stall, souvenirs stall, and the supposed Gym building was in ruins.

"Are you searching for the gym as well?"

A person wearing black glasses and pearl necklace asked.

"Yes. Do you know where it is?"

"Blaine got tired of tourist who care more about postcard and t-shirt than Pokemon and abandoned the Gym," the person with glasses sighed.

"Just because you are wearing a wig doesn't mean no one will recognize you."

"Wig, what wig?" the person in glasses stuttered.

"I will meet you at the Volcano after you fight Ash." Vidal left waving his hand.

"Who, who are you? And who is Ash?" the person who always give riddle to other was didn't get this riddle.

Vidal walked towards Pokecenter trying different foods.

"Jessie, James you are also here. Give me some good food to eat." Vidal stopped in front of Stall.

"You.. Yes, here you can eat as much as you like." Jessie handed him the Meowth shape cookies.

"These are pretty good."

"But by any chance, you guys aren't planning to steal Pokemon from the Pokecenter right?" Vidal asked putting another cookie in his mouth.

"What? No, no, we are here just to do some business," Jessie, James and Meowth said in unison.

"That's good than. Pack me all the reaming ones," Vidal handed them money and left the shop.

The team rocket trio blankly looked at the money in hand with sparkling eyes.

"Vidal, you are also here?" Vidal turned around with mouthful of noodles, from the stall.

"Come, come everyone let's eat some. Mister another three plates for my friends too."

The three approached him.

"Hello, I am Misty. It's nice to meet you."

"Hello, I am Brock. We often hear about you from him."

"Well, hello everyone, take a seat and eat first. We will talk later."

After eating session was over, Vidal found that they were looking for a place for night.

After searching for a bunch of hotel, they didn't find anything and finally Ash took out the card of Big Riddle Inn.

After solving the riddle, they reached the place where the man with black glasses welcomed them. The main in black glasses acted as he had never met Vidal.

Everyone was eating, but the scene was awkward for Brock and Misty.

Ash was eating food with utmost silent, etiquette and manners; which they have never seen before.

Everyone was glancing at Vidal who was eating food and smiling time to time looking at Ash.

'I really have become a shadow in his heart. I guess he will overcome it while growing up. I can only hope so.' Vidal still didn't want to talk about their childhood memories.

The dinner was finally over, and Ash opened up a little.

"Vidal what are you doing here?" Ash asked.

"I am here for the gym badge."

"Vidal, you are also entering the Pokemon League," Ash was shocked.

"Yes. I am just giving it a try."

"I am going to sleep now," Vidal turned around with a serious face and looked at Brock, "I have very important matter to discuss with you tomorrow."

Brock nodded.

Misty and Ash looked at brock.

"I don't know anything."

Then phone rang in the inn.

A huge commotion started near Pokecenter, someone was stealing Pokemons.

"Where are you going?"

Vidal was just about to hit the bed and heard some noises and came to check out.

"Someone is trying to steal Pokemon from Pokecenter. We are heading there." The trio left the hotel in hurry.

'It is hard to be a protagonist.' Vidal shook his head.

Vidal waited for them to return.

When the trio returns, Ash has a sad face and exhausted Pikachu.

"What happened?"

"Ash lost his match to Blaine." Misty said.

"Oh. Take rest for today then."

The three entered their rooms and finally the man in glasses came.

Vidal was waiting for him in front door.

"Blaine we will fight early morning in the gym."

"Since you already know then why not?"

Inside the Volcano behind the Big Riddle Inn,

A battle arena was suspended in top of lava, and Blaine removing his glasses and wig accepted Vidal's challenge.

"The battle will be three on three. The side with the most wins will win the match." With that said Blaine let out Ninetales.

Vidal nodded, what Pokemon should he send this time.

"Arcanine let's go," Vidal wanted to fight fire with fire.

Ninetales opened up with a flamethrower.

"Arcanine show him what a real flamethrower looks like."

After inhaling though its nose, Arcanine opened its mount and poured large amount of fire towards incoming flams.

The fire envelops Ninetales instantly finishing the match.

Even Vidal was surprised for a moment to see the fire power.

Blaine didn't wait and instantly took out his Rhydon.

Vidal shook his head; Rhydon may have powerful strength but when it comes to speed it falls very low.

The match become a chasing game, Rhydon was unable to come close to Arcanine with its superior speed.

"Magmar come out." Blaine screamed looked at the lava below the gym arena.

A Pokemon flew out of the lava and stood in the arena.

"Magmar, fire punch."

"Arcanine, use fire fang."

A punch and a fang collided in the middle of arena, and a Pokemon shot out of the arena slamming on the wall of the Volcano.
