"You know, I have half a mind to just throw the two of you into the river." A nine year old Shu said with closed eyes as his eyebrows twitched in irritation.
In front of him were Ash and Gary who are the same age as him as they both have fishing rods in their hands as they glared at each other. But there was a difference and it was that the both of them were floating in the air..
"It's Gary's fault!" Ash said as he looked at him.
"Yeah right, it's his fault!" Gary said to him back.
"Can't the both of you just be calm for one thing!" Shu said angrily as he opened his eyes.
Both his eyes were glowing a blue hue as he looked at them showing that he is the one who is making them float using his psychic powers.
"No!" Both said at the same time before glaring at each other.
"It's just a Pokeball, there is not reason to fight for it." Shu said to them as he eyed the thing on each of their hooks.
They each had a half of a old Pokeball in its small form on their hooks. The two fished it from the river and in the tug of war broke it into two. Ash was the first one to come here to fish with Shu alongside him who came to watch. Then Gary appeared at the other side of the river and after saying some things to Ash he also put his hook to fish.
They waited for sometime and the both of them caught something in their hooks. When they pulled it was revealed to be an old Pokeball and before Shu could say anything the two pulled on their respective rods and then broke it into two. After that the two of them started to fight about getting the other half which caused Shu to lift them up with his psychic power.
"Well the both of you got a half so it's a tie." Shu said to them.
"I can't be tied to him!" Both of them said as they pointed at the other.
Now most people would be afraid when they are being lifted off the ground by a psychic but the three of them have been friends for long enough that the other two don't mind it that much.
"Well then why don't the two of you decide this after becoming a Pokemon trainer." Shu said to them.
"Huh?" That immediately got their attention.
"We are going to become official Pokemon Trainer's in a week. So how about this, the greatest trainer among the two of you will get the other half and the other will have to acknowledge that he is a better trainer among the two of you." Shu said to them.
The two looked at each other and then looked at Shu with a determined look.
"I accept! I'll defeat him!" The two said simultaneously.
"Good." Shu said as he put the both of them down.
The two of them grabbed their halfs as they glared at the other causing Shu to sigh. Then he remembered a detail as he looked at Gary.
"Hey Gary, aside from us are there anyone else who is coming to get a Pokemon?" Shu asked him.
"Oh, well, yeah there are two more who are coming." Gary said to him.
"So there are five of us. Hold on, does that mean that two of us won't get out starters?" Ash said shocked.
"Don't know, I'm pretty sure professor Oak will make sure all of us get one." Shu said to him.
"Yeah, Gramps is a genius so he will make sure that there is enough Pokemon." Gary said with a proud smirk.
Shu looked and saw that it was getting late in the evening and it is about to become night.
"Guys, I think we should go now, it's getting late." Shu said to them.
The two also saw it and concluded that they would also have to get home.
"Fine, see ya. I need to help mom with something so I'm going ahead." Ash said as he bolted away from the place.
"Tch, he's always like that. Well, I will go back as well see you." Gary said before he went on his way as well.
"Well, time for me to go as well." Shu said as he went into a forest.
Rather than going around it it was much more easier to take a shortcut through the forest so he walked through it. He saw some Pokemon as he walked. But then he stopped when he saw something that caught his eye.
"Is that?" Shu said as he looked to his right.
In his vision is a male Nidoran, but unlike the normal Nidoran, it is blue colour.
"That's a shiny Nidoran. But what is it doing in here? I don't remember any Nidoran in this place." Shu said to himself as he slowly walked towards the Pokemon.
But as he got closer his eyes narrowed when he saw the state of the Nidoran.
'It's hurt. Did a Pokemon do it? Hm, let's just get it to the professor.' Shu thought as he neared the Pokemon.
"Hey there it is!" An unknown male voice said stopping Shu in his tracks.
"Hah finally!" Another voice said as Shu saw the Nidoran flinching and then turning to face the direction the voices came from.
Shu watched as two men came out from a few bushes as they looked at Nidoran with a nasty smile on their faces.
'These guys are bad news.' Shu thought to himself as he hid behind a tree.
"And here I thought we lost a rare one like this. This guy will fetch nicely in the market." The first guy said with a greedy look.
'So these guys are Pokemon hunter's huh.' Shu thought to himself.
"Well let's not wait here. We can't have anyone seeing this." The second guy said as he took out a Pokeball.
The Nidoran growled at the two as it glared at them while the two men had confident looks on their faces.
"Yeah, I don't think so." Shu said coming out of his hiding spot catching them by surprise.
"Huh, who's this kid?" The second guy said confused.
"The one who is going to help that Nidoran. Leave this place or you will regret it." Shu said as he glared at them.
The two men blinked when they heard him before they roared with laughter causing Shu's eyebrow to twitch. They laughed for sometime before they calmed down as they looked at him.
"I don't know who you think you are kid but you can't beat us. You don't even have a Pokemon so I suggest you leave us alone." The first guy said as he took out a Pokeball.
"Oh really?" Shu said with a smile as his eyes glowed blue.
The next moment the two were lifted off the ground much to their fear and confusion while Nidoran was looking at the scene with awe.
"W-What the hell!?" The first guy shouted confused.
"Damn it! The kid is a psychic!" The second guy shouted as he has a look of fear.
"Yep, so, are you two ready for a swim?" Shu said with a smirk.
"Huh?" The two said confused.
Then the next moment the two of them disappeared and then reappeared over the river from which Shu had met with Ash and Gary. The two fell in the river and screamed as they were taken away by the current.
"That takes care of them." Shu said as he looked at the Nidoran.
The shiny Nidoran looked at Shu with awe as he kneeled a few metres in front of Nidoran and smiled at him.
"Hey buddy, you look hurt. Why don't you come with me. I can't take you to Professor's lab where he can heal you." Shu said to the Pokemon.
Nidoran was a bit suspicious but after seeing him save him from the two Pokemon hunter's it decided to trust him as he walked to the human. Shu was happy about it as he picked the Pokemon up.
"Alright, time to go visit a professor." Shu said as he walked with the Pokemon.
Time skip
"Awww~, isn't he the cutest." Shiori said as she petted the shiny Nidoran.
"Right. Professor Oak was really surprised when I brought this guy. It's not everyday that you get to see a different coloured Pokemon." Shu said to his mother as he sat on the couch.
He was sitting with his mother on the couch with Nidoran being on Shu's lap as it let his mother pet him.
"He likes you very much huh." Shiori said to him with a smile.
"Yeah, after professor Oak healed him he wanted to keep it with him to study. But Nidoran didn't want to leave me so the professor let me keep him. He has asked me to come to his lab tomorrow to study him though." Shu said as he petted his Nidoran as well.
"Grow..." Growlithe said as he sat beside Shiori as he called for her attention.
"Aw, don't worry Growlithe, I didn't forget you." Shiori said as she petted Growlithe as the Pokemon enjoyed it.
Shu smiled at it as he looked at the Nidoran on his lap. He was honestly thinking about getting one of the three starters from the professor but the appearance of this Pokemon made a change in his decision.
'A Nidoran if taken care of correctly is a very useful and powerful Pokemon. Considering that he can learn moves of different types that will help immensely. And when I get him to Nidoking he will be really strong. Not to mention, having a loyal partner is a very good thing.' Shu thought to himself as he petted the Pokemon.
"So Shu, you're gonna be a Pokemon trainer in a week." Shiori said to him as a sad smile appeared on her face.
"Yeah, this is what I've been waiting for." Shu said to her.
"I know, you, Ash and Gary have always told us about how you will become Pokemon Trainer's and go out on your journeys. Time flies so fast. It feels like my baby boy grew up in an instant." Shiori said as she hugged him.
"Don't worry mom. Even if I am going on a journey I'll make sure to call you whenever I go to a Pokemon centre or whenever I can." Shu said to her with a smile.
"I know, but it's still sad to see you leaving home." Shiori said as she hugged him.
"I know mom." Shu said as he hugged her using his left arm.
After that the family of two along with the Pokemon's spent the rest of the time being with each other as Shu and Shiori knew that they won't be able to see eachother face to face for a long time.
(A/N: So how do you like this chapter and me giving him a shiny Nidoran male?)
