14: Waterfall

The intimidating onix released another roar as it got ready for battle.

Magikarp was shaking and nearly had tears in its eyes, it even wanted to run back to Jayden.

the golden Magikarp calmed down when Jayden said "believe in yourself, and you will be able to beat it"

Magikarp decided to do it's best, not to disappoint Jayden, it didn't want to be weak and useless.

Forrest decided to test the waters a bit, ordering onix to simply tackle Magikarp.

onix rushed towards the golden magikarp, it's huge earthly body smashed into the artificial rocks around as it was menacingly slithering towards Magikarp.

onix came extremely close to magikarp, but before the tackle could land, magikarp's golden tail fin slapped the ground and sent it flying onto onix's head.

onix was surprised for a second before looking all around.

where did the little golden fish go?

"Magikarp it's on your head, shake it off" Forrest shouted, while onix was taking time to process that Jayden decided to let Magikarp do it's thing.

"Magikarp, you're cooking up today, attack it's head with a tackle" Jayden gave Magikarp a thumbs up.

its golden fins were clutched onto the cracks in onix's body as it held on tightly.

although it was only a fish, it's strength and speed stats were decent and even comparable to onix who was a way lower level.

Magikarp glowed a white light and rammed into onix's head.

this caused onix to roar out in pain before slashing it's tail and head around aimlessly.

Forrest was becoming irritated, no way he was gonna get his sh*t rocked by a Magikarp.

"onix, slap your head with your tail, it's on your head" Forrest shouted, he was so annoyed that he was making mistakes.

onix's long rocky tail lifted up into the air and came crashing down, Magikarp had already seen this and actually kicked with its tail fins and landed on the rocks before flapping away like it usually does.

onix's tail landed on its head, causing it to roar once again before it became slightly dizzy.

"pfft" Jayden nearly laughed but held his composure, Forrest had actually asked onix to slap its head with its tail, thinking it could hit the fast Magikarp.

in fact onix was even faster than Magikarp, Magikarp was just too small for onix to get a clear hit on.

noticing the course of the battle, Magikarp started becoming excited, it's inner battle spirit had awakened right then and there.

"ONIX, snap out of it" Forrest shouted, but he didn't blame onix, afterall it was his fault for that happening.

"don't let it get another chance to escape" Forrest said before calming down.

Onix was freed from it's dizziness and locked its eyes on the shiny Magikarp, it became angry and released a roar before rushing towards magikarp.

it was planning to use bind.

"Magikarp dodge this, it's too big to bind you" Jayden thought for a split second before saying this.

Magikarp planned to bounce away, but onix had encircled it somehow, Magikarp was surrounded from all sides, anywhere it went onix would reach there with its serpentine body.

"Sh*t" Jayden said in his heart, he was expecting this but still hoped Magikarp could somehow make it through.

the circling onix slowly got closer to magikarp,

it's sharp rocky mouth closing and opening, giving the idea that it wanted to eat Magikarp.

this caused Magikarp to tense up for a second.

"Magikarp, stay sharp and find a chance to escape the encirclement" it heard Jayden's voice.

but it was too late, onix was already too close.

onix surrounded Magikarp like a string tying a knot, surprisingly it's body held Magikarp tightly between the boulders on its body.

Jayden watched this and decided to wait a while before giving an order, he would call Magikarp back before the battle went too far.

while Magikarp was being bound, onix's large head appeared in front of it.

"onix, finish this with a tackle, go all out" Forrest said as he noticed an opportunity to finally get rid of Magikarp.

it's 8.8 meter Body seemed to harden for a bit before it's head hurled at Magikarp who was held between it's rocky tail.

swoosh!!

the wind flowed along with onix's speed, it's head was like a cannon ball as it approached Magikarp who was in a bind.

Jayden prepared to return Magikarp back to it's PokeBall before onix hit it, the hit would definitely be tragic.

"huh"

Jayden felt something in his heart telling him to continue watching this battle, he had a spiritual connection with all his Pokemon and could feel all their emotions.

instead of fear, Magikarp was actually calm and seemed to be planning on taking the attack head on.

"no way" Jayden was shocked, did Magikarp want to die???

impossible.

before the attack landed on Magikarp a bright light enveloped Onix's tail.

this light blinded onix's causing it to stop in its tracks and hold back the attack.

Forrest was bewildered, What the f*CK was going on?

it couldn't be?

Magikarp was evolving?

magikarp's small body slowly expanded and turned into the shape of a serpentine creature, due to it's fastly increasing size, onix had no choice but to release the bind.

Moves: Splash, Tackle, Twister, whirlpool, ice Fang, Bite, Waterfall.

a large screen appeared before Jayden, displaying gyarados's stats.

it had learned 4 new moves immediately upon leveling up.

Jayden's eyes landed on the shiny intimidating red Gyarados that had appeared, it was bigger than normal, reaching nearly 10 meters.

a colossal height for any pokemon, it towered over even the large onix.

Jayden processed this scene for A split second before his eyes landed on the moves list, his eyes landed on a powerful new ability.

"Gyarados, are you ready to go again?" Jayden shouted.

the colossal red Gyarados released a devastating roar which shook the whole field, that was it's reply to Jayden.

"let's go then, finish this with waterfall, full power"

Jayden shouted once again with a large grin.

Forrest just watched all of this in complete and utter shock, this was way beyond his expectations, not only had the tiny Magikarp become a Gyarados, it was one that was over the regular 6 meters height, reaching a height of 10 meters.

this was absolutely diabolical.

he didn't know how to react to this situation entirely.

The menacing red Gyarados bared it's sharp and long fangs before roaring out once again.

onix's shrink back due to it being intimidated.

a rumbling sound was heard underneath the gym field.

boom!!

a huge waterfall exploded out of the ground, it carried a terrifying water pressure as it sent onix flying into the sky before landing onto the ground and fainting immediately upon impact.

"the winner is the challenger"

the lady in the uniformed outfit was also surprised by the sudden trajectory of the battle, but she still did her job and announced the results.

"Gyarados we won" Jayden ran up to the towering red snake-like dragon.

he wanted to hug Gyarados but it was really too big.

gyarados brought down its head and rubbed Jayden's cheek happily as well, a huge smile was seen on its dragon-like face.

Forrest walked up while Jayden was running gyarados's head.

he handed Jayden a badge and said "congratulations on defeating me, this is the rock badge"

Forrest said with a sigh, he was still surprised About what happened during the battle.

Forrest returned back to heal his Pokemon after returning onix to it's PokeBall.

Jayden brought out raboot and Pidgeotto and showed them the rock badge.

"look guys, we won our first gym battle, there will be many more to come"

all three of his Pokemon released noises of excitement, they were all looking forward to the next gym battle.

Jayden had Pidgeotto and Gyarados return to their pokeballs, Gyarados was really intimidating for the people who were around.

many people in the stands were talking about the battle and gossiping about Jayden's strength even while he left the pewter city gym.
