Toolma- Ahem! Roark, returns!

Finally, under the assault of these 'enthusiastic' challengers… 

Roark finally returned to Oreburgh!

He walked through the streets and rubbed his eyes in disbelief, looking at everything in front of him!

Holy mother!

We're not in Oreburgh anymore!

The young man wandered aimlessly, looking at all the new buildings with shock in his eyes. He walked up to a girl, "Um, excuse me. Do you know where the gym is?" The girl looked over with a lollipop in her mouth and hyper fashionable clothes on, she looked Roark up and down before clicking her tongue, "Don't talk to me, loser."

Roark: ?????????

He scratched his head in confusion, did he say something wrong? Did his smelly Uncle do something bad again? The girl sneered, "Want to take revenge on my idol, Ace-sama? Forget it." Roark was dumbfounded, looking at this fashionable girl, "Your idol?" 

The girl looked at him in disgust, "Were you born under a rock? Let me tell you, even if you play dumb, I won't be interested in you!" Roark was truly and utterly sure.

This girl was a fucking lunatic!

He quickly walked away, "Thanks…" before muttering under his breath, "Mentalcase…" he continued walking, looking around in confusion before finally taking out his Rotom Phone, "Uncle! Where are you?"

Ace was in the Gym, rubbing the ground with a Challenger as he answered the phone, "Yo! Roark? You're back?" while snapping and pointing.

Kabutops flashed and slashed in an X pattern, making the Trainer cry out, "AHHHH! AGAIN!?" Ace chuckled and Roark asked, "You're in the Gym? Where is it?" Ace's lips twitched, "Buddy, you didn't look at the Maps? They're everywhere!"

Roark was dumbfounded and looked around, seeing the Map next to the lunatic… He nodded and replied, "I don't see them at all!" Ace shook his head, "Your IQ is worrying, Roark! I'll send Noivern to pick you up."

Roark nodded and hung up, cleaning his glasses.

Turns out, this place where Starly don't even shit can become so popular!

On the other side, Ace waved, "Kabutops, send this clown to the Shadow Realm!" Kabutops bubbled up with water, shooting towards the Crobat on the other end, making a flashy move as the Crobat fell unconscious.

Kabutops raised his scythes, looking around, "Kabu!? Kabutops!" Ace's lips twitched as he picked off Noivern from his head, throwing him into the air, "Go pick up Roark." Noivern grew and grumbled, while flying away.

Ace rolled his eyes and looked at the Trainers, "Next!"

Roark sat on the Meteorite fence, wiping his forehead as a loud whistle sounded, scaring him half to death! He jumped and looked to the side, seeing an Officer Jenny, "You're not allowed to sit on that fenc-Huh? Roark?! You're back?!" 

Roark patted his chest, "Officer Jenny, you nearly scared me to death…" Officer Jenny walked over and smiled happily, pinching his cheek, "I haven't seen you in a long time! You're starting to look like your father." Roark smiled helplessly, "Thank you." Officer Jenny hugged him and held his arms, "So, you came back for good?"

Roark scratched his head, "Well… about that…" Noivern landed from the sky, waving at Roark, "Noivern!" Officer Jenny looked over and waved a finger, "Noivern, you have to use the designated landing areas!"

Noivern nodded while yawning, making Officer Jenny's lips twitch. Roark patted Jenny's hand and smiled, "Well, Officer Jenny, I need to talk to Uncle Ace. It's important." Officer Jenny nodded and smiled gently at him, "Go. It's nice to see you again, Roark."

Roark felt a warmth in his heart as he nodded.

Noivern took off and flew towards the Gym before noticing the fashionable girl was holding onto his leg, with stars for eyes, "OMG are you Ace-sama's Noivern?! Awesome Awesome!" Roark shouted in shock, "Mentalcase?!"

The girl glared at him, "Shut up, loser! I'm not crazy!" Noivern begged to differ, honestly!!

Meanwhile

Ace talked with a young man, "Really not bad at all, Reggie. Here's the Badge and the TM for Rock Slide." Reggie wiped his sweat and smiled, "Thanks, Mr Ace!" Ace gave him a thumbs up, "I hope to see you in the Lily of the Valley Competition!"

Reggie nodded and put the Badge in his badge box, letting out a breath of relief as he looked at the 8 badges.

After sending Reggie away, Ace rubbed his chin, "Well, it's not my place to kill his dreams… I'll leave that to Brandon." actually, watching Reggie battle was really a breath of fresh air.

Forgetting about the countless flies buzzing around trying to tear him down his throne… Reggie's battling style was very textbook. You can say that it's 'perfect' but you can also say that it's mediocre. 

He can battle and counter, he can also stay calm and make sound decisions in times of crisis… But from Ace's perspective, there's no 'Soul' to his battling style. If Ace had to compare him, he would think of Reggie like a rock.

Stable and Tough, but mundane and not easily changed.

If Reggie wants to really reach the top, he'd have to have a drastic change to his battling style. But Ace didn't think this was possible.

All in all, a Textbook Trainer without any flaws but not many strengths either.

This was very rare.

Many trainers added their own insane flair to their battling style.

For example; there was one guy who came to confess his love to Elesa after beating Ace. That guy made unreasonable calls like 'Torterra, dig into the ground and spread your roots then reflect Solar Beams off Razor leaves!'

And it worked! 

Somehow!

But in the end, Ace beat him so hard that he doubted life with Noivern. That game Noivern wiped him 1v6!

At any rate, Ace drank some water that Tirtouga carried on his back, crawling over, "Tir…" Ace smiled at him, "Thanks, Tirtouga!" Tirtouga chirped happily, looking very cute.

Ace did a run down of his Pokemon in his mind while the next trainer got ready.
