After they left, Byron came to Ace and said directly, "Pack your things." Ace looked at him in confusion as Byron smirked, "You have to go through a Test to become a Gym Leader. Did you think you could just become the Gym Leader?"

Ace was dumbfounded, "There's a test?" Byron rolled his eyes and explained, "You have to get a certification by the Alliance. Just so happens that this time, the Exam is in Lumiose. And it's in 2 weeks, so we have to leave in 2 days at the latest." Ace looked at Byron with doubt, "What about Roark?"

Byron rubbed his nose, grinning, "I can recommend him at any time." Ace pointed at himself in shock, making Byron chuckle, "I only get one recommendation. It's basically a rite to inheritance that's a grandfather clause in Gym Inheritances." Ace's lips twitched and he forgot it, sighing, "What do I have to do?"

Byron curled his lips and smiled mysteriously, "You'll find out, pack your things we'll be leaving tomorrow." before walking away, humming to himself. Ace watched him go and took out a little notebook, writing Byron's name down furiously.

That very same evening

Cynthia came to the door!

Ace opened the door and blinked, "Hey?" Cynthia smiled and walked inside with Garchomp following her, "How's it going? I heard the Professors came for another discovery?"

Ace closed the door and followed her to the kitchen, sitting down as he nodded, "Yeah, two new Steelix Forms." Cynthia raised her brows with interest, "Oh yeah?" Ace nodded and explained briefly before asking, "Why did you come?"

Cynthia rolled her eyes, "Do I need a reason to visit a friend?" Ace chuckled and looked at her, "If you were visiting Caitlin, I wouldn't even ask." Cynthia pursed her lips before getting to the main point, "I found a Ruin in Mt Coronet, wanna come?"

Ace's eyes lit up, "Oh yeah? Did you check it out already? What kind of Ruins? Is it a Fossil one?" Cynthia waved her hands and laughed, "Just come along!" Ace was about to agree when he frowned, "I can't."

Cynthia looked at him in confusion and Ace sighed, "I need to take a Gym Examination. I'm leaving tomorrow Night with Byron." Cynthia thought for a moment, "The Gym Exam in Lumiose?" Ace nodded and Cynthia asked strangely, "Byron is handing over the Gym to you?"

Ace paused and explained what Byron told him, ending with, "I don't want to snub my friend so…" Cynthia tilted her head and took out a Rotom Phone, making a phone call.

Cynthia said directly, "The Gym Exam. I approve of one of the Candidates." Ace waved his hand and said, "No! Byron helped me get the Exam date, I have to go!" Cynthia looked at him and chuckled, "I didn't know you were so honorable." before saying to the other person, "Ace will only participate in the final test in 3 weeks." after that, she hung up.

Ace's lips twitched and Cynthia waved her phone, "The perks of having a Champion friend!" he sighed and retorted, "This is abusing authority!" Cynthia waved her hand, "What's the difference? Anyway, let's go tomorrow!" Ace laid on the table, looking up at her, "Can Byron come?"

Cynthia nodded with a smile, "Sure!" Ace smiled happily.

The next day

Ace looked at Machoke, "This will be your final lesson!" Machoke was dumbfounded and looked listless, "Machoke…" Ace patted his head, smiling, "It's okay, you can protect the town. Don't you remember our agreement?"

Machoke pouted and Ace rubbed his head gently, "Real men stick to promises!" Machoke looked at Ace and roared, "Ma… Machoke? Machoke!" Ace raised his brows and looked at him before sighing with a smile, "Fine."

Machoke did a dance on the spot while laughing.

Ace shook his head and took out a Pokeball. Machoke touched the Pokeball and disappeared. Ace picked up the ball and let him out, putting the Pokeball away, "Are you ready now?" Machoke nodded and prepared himself.

Ace walked back and looked at Machoke, crossing his arms as he said, "Don't fall!" Cynthia and Byron watched by the side with Roark. Cynthia looked at Byron and asked, "What's he doing?" Byron shook his head and replied, "I don't know. Normally they spar…"

Cynthia muttered, "Spar with a Machoke?" Byron chuckled and scratched his beard, "It's not that exaggerated… After all, this guy can lift Mega Aggron with one hand!"

Ace looked at Machoke and unleashed his Conqueror's Haki!

Machoke's face changed and he nearly collapsed, roaring!

Ace glared at him as his Conqueror's slowly climbed up in intensity. The Three on the side sucked in a cold breath of air, Cynthia held up her arm, "What is this?!" Byron held Roark and looked at Ace, "This guy is getting stronger again!"

The Machoke was tottering back and forth as Ace shouted, "Stand tall, Machoke! This is nothing! Come on!" Machoke stretched out and roared at the sky, Ace smiled and looked at him with a nod of his head.

The seconds passed slowly

2 minutes later

Machoke fell to one knee and Ace took away the Conqueror's, walking over to Machoke, "Good job!" Machoke looked up and cried out happily before fainting. Ace looked at him and shook his head.

He looked over and saw the three caked in sweat. His lips twitched and he said, "Well… Freshen up…"

A bit later

Ace came to Machoke, handing him a Link Cable. Machoke looked at the cable in confusion, looking up at Ace, who smiled, "Take it." Machoke grabbed the Link Cable and froze!

His body exploded with light!

A few seconds later

A tall and strong Machamp appeared in front of Ace! Machamp looked at his new body in shock before hugging Ace tightly, crying out happily, "Machamp! Machamp!" Ace patted Machamp's arms with a smile, "You earned it."

Machamp let Ace down, smiling happily before flexing, saying "Machamp?" Ace raised a brow and laughed, walking back before turning around, "Then come on!" Machamp grinned and clenched his fists, he took off his belt!

Ace looked at Machamp leisurely as Machamp breathed out smoke, a terrifying energy appearing around him. Machamp appeared in front of Ace abruptly, punching out with all his strength!

Ace looked at him and nodded, "Training wasn't in vain!" as he tilted his head to the side. Before Machamp could react, a fist appeared in his vision!

Machamp was hit in the face, shooting back while leaving afterimages in the air!

There was an extremely loud bang as the cliff shook!

Cynthia and Byron came over, looking at Machamp embedded in the Cliff with spiral eyes. They looked at Ace, who turned, smiling with smoke coming off his fist, "Ready to go?"
