Professor Oak nodded solemnly upon hearing what Alex had to say.
"Well. This will be a problem. What do you think is the appropriate measures we should take?" he asked Alex.
"Well, we can hide the fact that Nature can be changed from the general public. As for those larger clans, they will have Psychic Pokemon powerful enough to safely change the natures of their weaker Pokemon, while they would not probably care about the small random increase or decrease of one stat for their powerful Pokemon. But eventually, the matter will spread to the masses, and it's only a matter of time before people have their unskilled Hypno or Drowzee try to change the natures of their Pokemon" said Alex.
"Well, that is a good temporary measure. Let us not release the information about the possibility of the changing of Nature. Also, we do not have to worry about each and everything of consequence by ourselves. Isn't there the Pokemon Alliance? They will surely come up with a solution" said Professor Oak.
"Professor, do you think just like the Pokemon Center of Nurse Joy, a kind of Nature Center can be established? Like the healing services in Pokemon Center, this Nature Center could have trained and capable Psychic Pokemon perform the changing of Nature" suggested Alex.
"This is a good idea. I will talk with a few friends and see if we can talk with the Alliance regarding this. But this will be an awkward service when if it takes off. This strong enough have either no use for such service or don't trust others do it, and those who would use this service will probably be too poor to afford it, unless it is really cheap. But in that case, it will generate no profit for the service provider. So I don't see this becoming huge" said Professor Oak.
"Yes Professor. I understand. It was just a thought. So when would be the appropriate time to publish this?" asked Alex.
"Let's give it another couple of months. You are free to do what you want during this time. Make sure to hang around Pallet Town. Let it be understood that Researcher Burns is still busy with his research while Alex Burns is free. I will release this research paper sometime when it is appropriate" said Professor Oak.
"I got it, Professor," said Alex, as he left.
Alex decided to spend the next few months on the ranch, training with his Pokemon. He planned to leave Pallet Town and start on his journey within a year. It would be around a year before Gary and Ash turned 10, so he would leave that much earlier than them. He planned to get all 16 Gym badges that could be obtained in Kanto, one for each type except Fairy and Dragon. While only 8 badges were required to participate in the Indigo League which would be 2 and a half years later, he planned to get all since it would be more prestigious this way. Also, he had enough time from when he started his journey to the start of the Indigo League. After that, he could rest for a while back in Pallet Town, and later go to the Johto region, the Hoenn region, or any other region for another adventure.
"Before then, it is better that I find the exact way to evolve Magneton into Magnezon. In the games in my previous life, an environment with an electromagnetic charge is required. And I don't remember such a place existing here in Kanto. But if I can go visit the places in Hoenn where Probopass are known to evolve, I could probably evolve Magneton too. That will also give me the opportunity to study how this evolution works. And if I manage to record all the energy flow of the required electromagnetic charges, I could develop and manufacture an 'Electromagnetic Charge Machine' with Oak Corall" thought Alex.
Magneton, or Magnezon would definitely be well above the initial Elite stage by then.
His Shiny Charizard was definitely going to be at Elite stage when he left too. Lapras had no evolution, but it would be nearing the peak of the Veteran stage and be pretty strong by then. Happiny's energy compression method would be effective for another year. He then would need an Oval Stone of good quality to successfully evolve it. And he would depart with a pretty strong team of a level 55 or so Magneton or Magnezon, a level 50 or so Shiny Charizard, a level 45 or so Lapras, and a level 40 Chansey. 3 battlers and one healer plus support. He could also get a couple of weaker Pokemon from the ranch to train. Alex had his eye on Ghastly and Machop for this.
"Also, I should research the methods to evolve Rhydon, Eletabuzz, and Magmar. All of them are quite strong and popular. Finding their evolution would mean lots of Poke and fame for Researcher Burns" thought Alex.
The Protector, Magmarizer, and Electirizer were things Alex needed to find and research as he didn't yet know how they existed or worked in this life. But Alex had an idea of locations he wants to check for their source. He would definitely be visiting those places during his adventure across Kanto.
But leaving in a year means that he wouldn't be able to take Beldum, as it wouldn't be ready for another 3 to 4 years at least. He could take Beldum, but it would both take a slot in his carry limit, and be in danger unnecessarily since it couldn't defend itself that well. So the best thing to do was leave it at the ranch. He could ask whatever Pokemon he was rotating to take care of Beldum when possible.
"Maybe I can take Beldum, which will be a Metang by then when I go on an adventure to the Hoenn region" thought Alex.
