Chapter 086
Charizard did not cause any problems for Alex or Charmeleon. It came over, patted the golden Charmeleon on the head, roared at him, and left. The other Pokemon left too soon after. Alex's Charmeleon was left starting at the back of Charizard in awe.
"Was he encouraging you? You will be as strong as him one day! I promise!" said Alex. "For now, you stay here with your buddies alright? I'll have some research to do."
"Chaar" replied Charmeleon nodding its head.
Alex decided to go the lake and release Lapras also, since it could meet the other 2 Lapras and play with them and the other Pokemon in the lake.
He then called Roger and Joseph. He coudnt contact them as inter region communications not civilian use of yet, so he coudnt comment with them from Hoenn or Sinnoh.
He then released the Professor's Nidoking back to its territory on the ranch, and returned its Pokeball to storage.
Alex decided not to start his research for a while. He already knew how Sylveon would evolve, and he wasn't in hurry to prove it. He decided to take one month and do it slowly. So he had some free time for some well deserved rest. He decided to also let Magnemite out and get it to meet and make friends with other Electric type Pokemon which were present in the ranch.
Pallet Town and the ranch was very safe, so he didn't need any Pokemon to be battle ready with him. Also, Magnemite was level 35, the at the peak of the early Veteran stage. While it did not have a bottleneck, its level increase would become noticeably slower at this stage. So it could spend some time learning and practising some new moves.
Magnemite's primary attacking moves were currently Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon, and Gyro Ball for defence or deflection. Light Screen and Reflect served for added defence, and Thunder Wave and Screech as supplements. It could have a few more moves to use now that it was at the Veteran stage, and especially since it would be ready to evolve at level 40. Alex wanted Magnemite to learn Discharge and Swift to deal reliable damage against speedy opponents, and Iron Defense and Metal Sound to bolster its defence and lower its opponent's.
There were plenty of Pokemon that knew these moves in the ranch, including two Mageneton. And Pokemon in the ranch were willing to teach others their moves, especially the more common ones. It may be a little slower than directly using a TM, but Magnemite could solidly grasp these skills by practice.
After leaving Magnemite in an Electric type Pokemon hang out in the ranch, Alex checked upon Lapras and Charmeleon before going back to the computer room with access to the laborotary's database.
He planned to spend the next few days memorising information. He felt like if he used a few hours every week, he could memorise most of the data base at Oak Corall within a couple of years.
For now, he was focused on data and news about the 'random' and 'innate' stat differences among species. He had already planned out how he would go about the experiment, and how to provide full proof to convince anyone beyond a reasonable doubt about Natures and subsequently the Berry Table.
Alex looked at the date and sighed. It had been more than year since he had transmigrated into the world of Pokemon, and close to 8 months since he started working at Oak Corall. Professor Oak said that the results of Eevee evolution he discovered will be released 6 months later. Assuming that he completes the subsequent resarch on the Nature and Berry Table in a year or so and it takes another half a year for him to sort everything else, it would have been three years since he came into this world, and he would be 14.
Alex thought that it would be a good time to start his journey then. His Charizard, Magneton and Lapras would be close to if not exceeding level 50 at that time, but he coudl always catch a few new Pokemon to if he didnt want to rush his way through the Gym Circuit.
With the King's Rock's profits, and whatever benifits he would receive for the 6 new Eeveelutions, and the Nature Table, he would be a rich person before starting his journey.
"At least 2 more years" thought Alex determinedly.
He was determined to extract all the useful knowledge from the database, a long with Polemon Food recipies, skills from the many professionals in the Oak Corall, and the trust and appreciation of one of the most influential person in the world before he set off.
