70 Chapter 069

Alex waited in the room for over an hour. After some time, a slightly battered Nidoking waddled over, and stood at the current entrance of the room. They encountered no other Pokemon attacks after the previous ones. The battling sounds from all over the Power Plant have stopped too.

"This is Officer Jenny from Cerulean City. Please identify yourself" came a voice from outside the room.

Alex went out of the room to catch sight of Officer Jenny with her badge visible. So he returned Nidoking and walked out, "My name is Alex Burns, I am from Pallet Town. Here is my Pokedex," said Alex, as he handed it over for identification.

Officer Jenny scanned the Pokedex, and returned it to Alex nodding.

"Let's go outside. Alakazam will teleport you back to Pallet Town" she said.

Alex nodded and accompanied Officer Jenny. He could see the Magnemite which Nidoking fought earlier looking devastated as it was lying in a corner. He saw the hall where Zapdos was sleeping was now empty. He then walked out of the same emergency exit passage he had come in, now only there was a large crater in the small opening where there were Electrode previously.

The other entrance leading to the Power Plant was being guarded by some people.

Alex spotted Alakazam standing under a tree. He went towards it and said, " Hey Alakazam!"

Alakazam opened its eyes and looked at him. He could see the exhaustion in its eyes. It nodded to him and teleported him. He found himself in Professor Oak's office. Alakazam then vanished.

Alex waited for a few minutes alone in his office, until the Professor finally arrived.

"Ah Alex, quite the encounter you had! So, can you tell me all about it?" he asked.

Alex nodded, recounting that he suspected Zapdos may be roosting in the Power Plant, so he went to the new Power Plant to gather schematics of the older one. He saw a tunnel that seemed to be roughly made using the help of rock type Pokemon leading to the old Power Plant, and has seen most of the Pokemon asleep when he arrived. After Alakazam's arrival, he spied on Zapdos being hypnotised by 2 Gengar, until the time the explosion happened. Then he hid in a corner, until a Magneton arrived and fought with Nidoking. He then hid in another room and managed to capture a Magnemite that was in the same room as him.

"Professor, Why did Alakazam look so tired? And what happened to Zapdos?" asked Alex.

"Zapdos was convinced by Alakazam to leave without a fuss. Alakazam had to put in a lot of effort to do that. Of Zapdos had gone on a range otherwise, it would be devastating to the region, and even affect Cerulean City" said Professor Oak.

Alex then realized he couldn't simply consider legendaries by their base stat total like in his previous life. A level 75 Zapdos could devastate an entire region while holding off a level 89 Alakazam.

"So what now?" asked Alex.

"Yet another remanent pocket of Team Rocket will be exposed inevitably. Other than that not much else. The Power Plant may be upgraded to a B class wild area from a C class, but it is not that likely" said Professor Oak.

"Professor, are the items I retrieved from the two Team Rocket members. And this Nidoking's Pokeball. Nidoking fought off a Magneton back in the Power Plant. He seemed a little injured" said Alex, handing it over. The Professor nodded.

"I'm sorry I couldn't get the pictures, Professor. I wasn't certain I could take them without alerting the people in the front" said Alex.

"It's fine. The people that arrived to capture the Team Rocket members took some great pictures. As the one that gave them information, I have partial credit for their capture, and hence I too received the " said the Professor.

"Professor, what happened to the leader of Team Rocket?" asked Alex, trying to figure out the timeline.

"He was defeated by the eventual Champion Red Fires back then. He was actually considered equal to the Elite Four, but he lost rather horribly. Hence he abandoned his post and decided to go for deep training" said Professor Oak.

"His post?" asked Alex.

"That's not relevant. The point is, he remains uncontactable. The consensus he felt was that he was slipping and decided to go on a training journey. The large number of forces he had personally built and controlled turned completely chaotic after that" said Professor Oak.

Alex walked out of the Professor's office and decided to go back home to sleep. He also was planning on checking the status of the Viridian Gym by the way. He could put training Magnemite along with Charmander on his agenda tomorrow.
