68 Chapter 067

Alex was exploring the tunnel under the Power Plant, that seemed to be connected to its abandoned counterpart. He noticed that the walls on either side seemed rough, as if they were made by grinding it using a Rock type Pokemon rather than by a professional construction company. This further verified his guess that the tunnel was made for some secret purpose that the creator wanted hidden.

After some time, Alex could feel that the tunnel started sloping upwards, rather than the downwards it going till now. Alex carefully pressed himself against the wall, held Nidoking's Pokeball in his hand, and sneaked forward slowly, making sure his footsteps weren't making sounds.

He could hear some noise up ahead, mostly seeming like electric currents rippling.

Alex saw a rough circular entrance to what seems like a concrete passage. He assumed that this was where the tunnel made artificially met the actual emergency exit of the old Power Plant. He stepped into this tunnel carefully. On the wall to the side, he could see a barely visible sign that said that the exit was to the left. Alex decided to secure an escape route first just in case, and headed left. He came upon a partially caved in the door, which seemed unstable. He carefully poked his head out of the door, only to shrink back in fright immediately. On the outside, there were at least 5 level 40 Electrode. They seemed to be asleep, but if they were disturbed, they would undoubtedly explode, making a small radius around them a deep crater.

He then walked to the other end of the passage. He came across a rusted door that was clearly carefully lifted off its hinges and put to the side. Beyond, he could see the crumbling building and dozens of electric type Pokemon, only, they were fast asleep.

Clearly, something or someone had don't them all to sleep.

Alex thought for a while before calling Professor Oak.

"Hello? Alex? What's up?" asked the Professor.

Alex replied, "Professor I wanted to explore the old Power Plant searching for Zapdos, and broke into the new Power Plant searching its schematics. But I found a tunnel leading to the old Power Plant under the new one. Here, it seems all the Pokemon have been put to sleep. How should I proceed?" asked Alex.

Professor Oak paused and then said, "Wait one minute and activate the transmitter."

Alex did that, and before long Alakazam appeared in front of him.

Alakazam took a look at the sleeping Pokemon and said, "Hypnosis"

Alex nodded. Then, he proceeded to explore the Power Plant, with Alakazam beside him.

After searching for a while, he saw two people wearing black clothes with an R logo on the front standing guard outside a passageway.

"Team Rocket!" thought Alex in panic, and gestured towards them to Alakazam.

Alakazam nodded, and both the men instantly fell asleep. Alex walked up to them, and patted them down. He found some miscellaneous items like wallets, ids and some keys, and decided to pocket them all just in case. He also found a Pokeball on each of them. They were locked, so Alex decided to take them too.

He then went inside the hall, careful not to make any noise. He then looked around for a good conceled place behind some rubble.

Hiding behind the pile of rubble, he could see 5 people standing in the front. Two of them were dressed like employees of the Power Plant, while the remaining 3 were dressed in Team Rocket Uniform. There were two Gengar in front of them, and they were busy trying to hypnotise one Pokemon.

"Zapdos" thought Alex as he saw the majestic bird. He realized that there was major trouble.

The Zapdos was level 74, while the Gengar were both level 66.

If the hypnotism by the Gengar fails and the Zapdos wakes up, who knew what the enraged Zapdos would do?

Alex quickly texted Professor Oak, updating him of the situation.

Professor Oak only texted back, "Wait. Don't do anything."

"Professor asked us to wait" Alex told Alakazam. They both hid behind the rubble continuing to observe what was happening in front of them.

One of the Team Rocket members and an employee of the Power Plant seemed to be arguing over something. Their words got increasingly heated. One of the other Team Ricket members also interjected, and the arguing Team Rocket member started walking away, cursing.

The other said something like, "Go check on those two fools" and he started walking towards the exit, where there were two hypnotised Rockets.

"This is very bad" thought Alex desperately, trying to think of a countermeasure.
