56 Chapter 055

"Yes it did Mr Carville. Charmander is sleeping now" replied Alex, "And thank you for showing me how to make the best Pokemon Food for Charmander."

"Call me Henry. And it's not a problem. Besides, the recipe I thaught you belongs to the Oak Corall, not me" said Henry.

While there were lots of Pokemon Food recipes available to Alex in the Oak Corall, the truly good recipes that can promote the growth and potential of Pokemon were very scares, and monopolized by some persons or factions.

Pokemon Food and thus its recipes, were divided into low class recipes, medium class recipes, high class recipes and top class recipes. Low class Pokemon Food only serve to sate hungry Pokemon, with no additional nutritious value. These are the cheapest and commonly available Pokemon Food. Anyone who puts their mind to it can make such food.

Middle class Pokemon Food has the same function as low as food, but they are richer in energy and nutrients.

High class Pokemon Food is energy rich and carefully configured ingredients that allow easy digestion, promotes metabolism, and has gradual but beneficial effects on Pokemon that eat them.

Top class Pokemon Food, is specifically made for particular species of Pokemon and contains ingredients that are massively beneficial to it. But these recipes are highly valuable and exclusive. Only major organisations and accomplished breeders could have the recipes, and they only would have it for a few select Pokemon.

Henry was one such breeder who posses several top class recipes for many different Pokemon's Food. The Oak Corall had the corresponding recipes for the Imperial Starter trio, and a few commonly available but strong Pokemon like the Nidoran line, the Pidgey line, and Machop line.

But even with the recipes, to truly configure top class food, you needed the guidance of an accomplished breeder. And Henry was the best breeder that Alex had access to.

Alex had been learning how to make top class Charmander Pokemon Food, but even though he memorized all the required steps, the execution of some delicate procedures still needed work.

He could now make middle class Pokemon Food, and usually joined the other hired breeders and Henry when they were making Pokemon Food for the Pokemon on the ranch, en masse.

Apparently, the middle class food fed to Pokemon in the ranch is universally delicious for all Pokemon regardless of their preferences. Alex tried some, and thought it tasted nasty, but that was how most Pokemon Food tasted to humans.

Other than this, Alex joined the Pokemon Food making team so he could get his hands on different berries. Since his cheat identified the nature of Pokemon, maybe the nature table was a thing here. He could cross check it with the berry table he remembered to find out if Pokemon of some nature liked or disliked a particular flavour of berry.

If the nature table was a thing here, he had plans to make it one of his research results.

Until now, he had fed hundreds of berries to different Pokemon. And he had confirmed that the berry taste being determined by the Pokemon's nature was a thing here. But if Pokemon's attributes were influenced by their nature is something he had to do some experiments to find out.

"After feeding the Pokemon, we will go and watch the Indigo League on television. It may be the preliminary rounds, but there will be some great battles. Do you want to join us?" asked Henry.

"No, thank you. I will watch the replay in the evening instead. I have to do some research projects Professor Oak left me" replied Alex.

"That's too bad. Alright then" said Henry.

The research project assigned to Alex by Professor Oak was to scour the internet and archives for information, sightings or legends of an unrecorded Pokemon.

A trainer sponsored by Oak Corall had spotted a Pokemon that he couldn't identify. He captured it and sent it to the ranch. Professor Oak wanted to research this Pokemon, but he had already agreed to be present at the Indigo Plateau that day. So he had some researchers monitor and observe the Pokemon until he came back. There were sightings of Pokemon that matched its general description, but no pictures or definite evidence. It was considered an urban myth, and a researcher rendered it after seeing the Pokemon. So Alex was assigned to see if he could find something on the internet.

Alex was happy that this Pokemon was discovered. He saw the perfect way to showcase his 'genius' during the research of this Pokemon.

After he finished his breakfast, he took a portion of Pokemon Food and walked into a separate enclosure on the west side of the ranch.

He walked in, to see a primarily green and yellow bipedal frog, with pink cheeks and curled hair on top of his head.

On spotting him, the frog ran over excitedly, clapping its hands.

"Politoed" it cried.
