80 The World Shall Know (Edited)

The purple glow slowly got bigger. The process took almost a minute. Charmeleon didn't disturb the evolution.

Evolution was considered a sacred ritual among Pokemons. So, the Pokemons would not disturb the process until it was completed. Charmeleon may be stupid and arrogant but it was also a proud Pokemon. It would not disturb the sacred ritual.

Finally, the purple glow suddenly vanished and a completely different Pokemon came into view. This was the first sighting of Espeon

The trainer ran towards Espeon picking it up and hugging it. Espeon didn't seem to have changed in its nature as it evolved due to enough friendship. But its demeanor gave a mature look to its face.

Mark and Axel were also there to witness this evolution. Mark was dancing with joy.

"We did it, Axel, we finally did it. It is a new discovery. Ho ho…." He was babbling on and on.

But Axel was also extremely happy. He knew there would be a positive result. But knowing and witnessing were 2 different things. But he completed his responsibility first. He went to pacify Charmeleon as it was ready to go again.

Though he was angry with Charmeleon, it was still a baby in his eyes. After some time, Charmeleon decided to stop the battle and challenge it another day.

Charmeleon was the reason, that Eevee had evolved. So, he gave some extra roasted meat to it as thanks.

Mark, Axel and the 2 trainers had a small party for their achievement. After some drinks, Mark stood up and bowed to Axel at a 90-degree angle and said,

"Axel, I really want to thank you for letting me be a part of this research."

"Mark, you don't have to bow to me. Straighten up, it is embarrassing."

"No, I should. I know how selfless it is of you to share your work. The work that you were confident to succeed. If there is anything that you want, please let me know."

Mark and Axel thought to examine Espeon tomorrow as its energy after evolution had still not stabilized. After some fun, Axel went home.

He had decided to focus more on Charmeleon from tomorrow. It had just evolved and it was arrogant and proud. It would need a good amount of attention and proper direction to mature.

Beedrill would evolve after 5 days and he was excited about it. Thinking of all these plans, he slept.

Middle of the night,

Tring Tring! Tring Tring! Tring Tring! Tring Tring! Katchak!!

"Hey Mark, what time is it? Why are you calling me this late?"

"AXELLL!!"

"Hey man, don't shout. You are killing my ears. What happened?"

"Axel, Something had happened, you need to.."

"Mark, calm down. Take a deep breath first. Ok, now tell me"

"Axel, the other Eevee is evolving right in front of my eyes, oh! It had already evolved now, it looks black. Just come here ASAP."

Axel put on some slippers. All of his Pokemons woke up. And with his Pokemons, he ran towards Mark's laboratory.

He had not expected 3 evolutions within 24 hours.

First Charmeleon, then Espeon, and now Umbreon. When life gives you happiness, it never comes in installments.

By the time he reached it, he could see 3 people with their Pokemons, surrounding another Pokemon.

It was a Pokemon that had a sleek, black body with four slender legs and crimson eyes. It had two pairs of pointed teeth (one in the upper jaw and one in the lower jaw) which were visible when its mouth was open. It had long, pointed ears and a bushy tail, each with a yellow band around them. Its forehead and legs have yellow rings on them.

It was Umbreon.

"Axel, thank Arceus you arrived. I don't think my heart to take all this happiness at once.", said Mark hugging him tightly. Mark was on the roll right now. He and Axel had found a brand new type of Pokemon species, that had never been recorded in human history.

"Hmm, it seemed to be a dark-type Pokemon. And Espeon is a psychic type. Both of these types are quite rare.", Axel said examining Umbreon.

Unlike Espeon, Umbreon seemed to be slightly disturbed after evolution. But it quickly came to its normal nature.

"So, what do you want to call this Pokemon species?", asked Axel.

Unlike most of the Pokemons who say their name, like 'Bulba' said by 'Bulbasaur', Espeon and Umbreon just gave a cute roar. So they could not determine their species name. (This is different from anime as in anime, they call out their name)

Axel had named the psychic type 'Espeon' and the group approved it.

"You are the head researcher, you choose it?", said Mark.

"But I already named Espeon. Why don't you choose a new name for this dark type?", said Axel.

"Axel, I may be greedy but not a hypocrite. You are the head researcher. You have invested years in it. I could not do it."

Mark was adamant about this.

"Ok, I would call you Umbreon!!", announced Axel.

"Kooo" said Umbreon. I

t seemed happy with the name.

The group celebrated again. The party didn't stop till the morning.

"The world shall know the 2 new evolution of Eevee. This is a groundbreaking discovery and it is all because of this silver-haired boy. To Axel!!", said Mark raising his glass of whiskey.

"TO AXEL!" said the rest by raising their cup too. Axel was slightly embarrassed by this but was obviously happy.

"Mark since we made this new discovery, what are the benefits that we would get?", Axel asked finally.
