35 The Meeting (Edited)

A new day with new hope and a new journey. At least that was what going on in Axel's mind. Axel had decided that he would train in the Venu family for 3 months and increase his battle powers. There was a knock on the door and Axel eventually opened it.

"Yo! Top of the morning to you laddie.", said a cheerful voice.

The voice belonged to a man, around 20s, well built, with a height of around 6 feet. He was wearing a dark purple T-shirt with light trousers. The T-shirt had a 'V' sign printed on it which was of green colour. It was a flashy getup, to say the least.

"My name is Peter, the leader asked me to bring me to her and she would brief you about your situation. Are you ready for a hot day?"

This guy seemed overly enthusiastic and it creped Axel a bit. But at least he was not discriminating against him, so he was okay with it.

"Good morning Peter. Just give me 10 minutes to get ready. Why don't you make yourself comfortable for a bit in my room.", Axel said, leaving the door open and getting ready to take a shower.

After around 30 minutes, They were in front of the meeting hall. But this time, unlike before, there were no empty chairs. All the six chairs were filled with middle-aged men and women and Angela was a the front of it.

"Woh..!! What a handsome young lad. Nice pick Angela. Hello my name is Serena.", said a middle-aged woman.

The woman had straight short hair and a fair face. Angela gave a look of disgust to the woman and said "Axel, let me introduce you to the elders. There are five elders in our Venu family.

Serena, the one who just spoke is an expert in the medical field. She was the one who healed your Pokemon before. She is in charge of healing Pokemon, us, and creating potions, antidotes, you name it.

The one next to her is Adam. He is the head of the training department. He helps in training young trainers like you.

The 2 people next to you are Mark and Sujan. They are in the research field and communication, trade department. Mark handles the research and history portion.

Sujan is the main line of communication and trade with the outside world and inside the Venu family.

The last person is Drojo. He is the one who makes that the rules of the family are being followed, and the caretaker of the family's premises."

Axel gave a nod to each one of them and they replied back. However, the man named Drojo doesn't seem to be very fond of him. His look was a mixture of anger and disgust and he was not trying to hide it. Axel didn't give him any matter of thought. He just wanted to get stronger.

Then Angela spoke again, "You asked me 2 questions before, Why did the Venu family choose you to be the first outsider, and what are the benefits you will receive? To answer the first question, I will first have to tell you about our family's situation."

When Angela said that, many elders had disapproving and hesitating looks. Clearly, they didn't want their secrets to be revealed but they didn't oppose it either.

"Up until 300 years ago, the Venu family was the most powerful family in the Kanto region. It was cause we had the resources to be in that position. It was the cause of the forest we had. This forest is one of the most mystical forests there ever was in the Kanto region. It had items, energy, and resources that normal forests didn't have. So we flourished cause of it.

It was the cause of this forest, we created our secret training techniques, created valuable items like metal coat, miracle seed, never-melt ice, Adamant orb, and many more, and that too of superior quality. The forest holds more secrets than this which you will come to know with your stay here. But the resources started to diminish and some of them don't even exist.

We didn't make contact with the outside world cause we didn't need it before but now we needed to change. Zard family holds the auction so, regarding items and resources, they are now at the top.

One of the elite 4 and the strongest gym in the Kanto region is affiliated with the Toise family and they control most of the seas in the Kanto region. But we don't have anything now. It is not that we didn't try to communicate and trade with the outside world but since not much is known about us, the people didn't trust us.

That is where you come in. Selecting you was done at random actually. I found you to have potential and since you are a neutral party, we selected you."

Axel now understood why he was selected. Venu family was trapped inside their own home. The thing that they felt proud of was now their prison and they want to get out of it.

"Another region of your selection is the influence. Every year, at the Kanto region budget conference, a certain amount of resources are separated for the 3 starter families. The amount of resources given is by deciding the influence and contribution that the family did for the betterment of the region.

One of the major reasons for the improvement of the other 2 families is also the cause of these resources. Since we never cared about the outside world, we don't have any influence outside, so we get the least amount of resources, and sometimes we don't even get a penny.

So, we have thought to change it. And due to the diminishing of resources our family and not in contact with the outside world, our young generations are, how do I put this delicately, ummm… , very incompetent and pitifully weak!!!. We may still be the most powerful family now cause of the elders and me but the same could not be said after the time passes."

"Regarding the benefits that you will get, Peter will give you a tour of our home and explain it to you. And your training will start from tomorrow. If you have any questions you may ask now.", said Angela concluding her little speech.
